Mt. Konocti: Views of Clear Lake, Lake County California

hello,

i live in the riviera hieghts and have been trying to find a way up to buckingham peak with no luck every trail or road i find is gated with no trespassing signs. please help do i have to go to kelseyville to get to the top of buckingham peak? there is no way up on the north side of the mountain :-(

@nickadriennerichards You cant get up on Konocti anymore but they are working on new trails to get up there it is all gated off now from what i heard from customers at my work who have been wanting to hike up there

@CaliSweetDream The county purchased acreage at the top of the mountain nearly two years ago, to turn it into a county park. Current plans are for a Grand Opening on Aug. 27, 2011. It will then be open to the public for hiking.

Wow. So that's what it looks like from the top of Mt. Konocti. I live in Buckingham and I've always wondered how it would look from up there.

my grandpa lived on konacti, i spent the best years of my childhood there. im planning on raising my kids on that mountain, as well as getting a pic of the twin peaks and the lake tattooed on my arm. its the most beautiful place ever.

There are so many wonderful things about Lake County but one of the best parts is that it's relatively unspoiled by excessive development.
