Sorry mate but Dumbledore is pretty thick because when He meets Tom Riddle, tom says that he make bad things happen to people if HE WANTS.Why didn't Dumbledore kill the bugger there and then. Also Gandalf Thinks things through and Protects Frodo a lot better than Dumbledore protects Harry.
@Superdude339 Dumbledore believes that there is good is everyone, he never stops trying to change Riddle, to make him see reason, to stop and change his ways. Also, Dumbledore knows Harry is going to have to die.
@seminoleboy96 Dumbledore is a wizard, he's not a muggle, I'm sure he could hold his own. Also, why do you classify people, those of whom disagree with you, as idiots? Stop being so arrogant, imagine a world where all opinions were the same, how dull would that be?
@JBLFCrulez4 i said mortal not muggle? Meaning he can die. You people don't know LOTR mythology. Sauron isn't even that strong he is like 8th on the top 10 list of strongest. However your right dude I'm sorry I can have an opinion you can have one. He could hold his own for like 2 minutes. I mean Gandalf is comparable to Michael the archangel its like saying alexander the great can beat an angel. Its impossible but thats my opinion :P
Dumbass, the reason the wizard duels in harry pottet are better is because it is a movie about WIZARDS! Lotr is not. Anyway, in the books tolkein rarely describes duels between wizards, thats why there arent many in the movies
@MaseStevie96 Of course the reason I have not referenced this opinion, in my video containing my opinion, is because my intelligence is sub-par compared to you. I'm so sorry for not fore seeing your half arsed, incorrectly spelt comment, and including your incredibly valuable views in this extremely important public address.
p.s. I'd also like to congratulate you on reading the description. You did a truly excellent job in not telling me about the books, well done.
@raywar3 you know that saruman isn't even the strongest LOTR character right? He is Sauron's bitch and Sauron isn't even the strongest person in the books. There is a dude called Melkor who summons entire armies from shadows who is unkillable who is so bad the will not mention his name. Also LOTR has superior wizards its just its mostly a sword book.
@spector969 Dumbledore was hit with an unblockable killing curse, which has only ever been survived twice, at point blank range and was dead before his feet departed from the ground. It wasn't the fall ;D
@JBLFCrulez4 Well then that just goes to prove that in the HP universe, wizards are pretty pathetic and can be killed simply by saying "Avada Kedavra" to them...
Seriously bro, go find Gandalf and try saying "Avada Kedavra" to him, you know what he'll do? He'll live... Then he'll laugh at you for talking Gibberish :P
@spector969 It's the killing curse what do want? And the magic takes so long in lotr someone could just shoot Gandalf with a gun before he could block it tbh.
Well you can try and find Gandalf if you really want to (he's not real). Yeah I'm sure Ian Mckellen would be a little freaked out if you ran up to him and started shouting at him.
@JBLFCrulez4 Eh? The spells in HP take longer, in LotR Gandalf just points his staff, he doesn't generally need to do incantations with it. I'd like to add that Voldemort is also a big fat pussy, Why is everyone so scared of him? He's just a rebel without a nose. Gandalf wouldn't be scared of a clown like that, trust me.
@spector969 He points his staff for the lower level spell yes, but all the good spells that actually do things he takes ages. Example (not gandalf but still) when saruman brings down that snow on them, that takes ages, when on harry potter it would take a flick of a wand. If the wizard is good enough on harry potter they dont need incantations for anything, at all. Because he's a vicious mass murderer with deep running connections, who had evaded capture for near enough 50 years
@spector969 He has no conscience, no remorse, knows how to get you to give him any info he wants (legilimency), he can also find you and kill you in your sleep anytime he wants and if you awake, he could do it just as easily. He's also an extremely talented wizard, example, he could fight three very accomlished witches/wizards without effort, and win. He's basically Hitler with very advanced magical powers. Oh yeah and he's immortal. Im pretty sure anyone would be scared of that.
@JBLFCrulez4 But surely ANY wizard in the HP universe can kill with ease because of that lame 'killing curse', again, any wizard can become "immortal" simply by killing someone, easy. Voldemort is nothing, just a guy who doesn't play by the "rules" of hogwarts. Hardly anything to worry about really...
@spector969 By that logic ANY human could have killed all those young men and eaten their remains, but i think if you met Jeffrey Dahmer you'd be pretty terrified of him. Same way that humans can kill other humans with use of a gun. People are not scared of the possibility, they're scared because he actually did these things. He's terrifying because he's a monster, essentially (I speak in the context of the story here).
@JBLFCrulez4, Yes people would be scared of a psychopath on a personal level, but did Jeffrey Dahmer have the power to take over the world? No he didn't, there are thousands of murderes & psychos around, they're 10 a penny, that's why I don't see what's so scary about Voldemort, he's just a murderer, wow, big deal... As you say, in the HP universe, wizards are no more powerful than a human with a gun, they point their weapon and "bang" dead...lame. No point of even being a wizard!
@spector969 As there we go, voldemort DID have the power to take over the world; he had alot more connections than Dahmer; he had an army, an organisation, with the power and intellgence necessary to cripple the government. He had no conscience or morals, his beliefs were evil and oppressive and he had the power to implement those beliefs, inforce his laws. But not just anyone can do it! Magical law is alot more effective, you need to be a genius to do what he did.
@JBLFCrulez4 The problem is that the HP books/films are written for younger kids and so have such massive loopholes you could fit haggrids arse through them, the fact is, there would have been millions of murderers (hence) immortal and (therefore) powerful wizards in the HP universe, Voldemort would have just been another one of them, you say he's a genius but many psychos are, there's nothing outstanding about Voldy, that's why that little weasel H-Piddy could defeat him so easily
@spector969 Murdering does not make you immortal, you have to say the incantation and can't feel remorse afterwards, or you die. Now this is considered a horrific act normally, and only attempted by a select few, very evil wizards. Now, Voldemort made 7, *seven*! That gives a taste of how evil and dark this guy was. Most of the murderers in the UK worked and served Voldemort, so yeah, there was alot of murderers. And remember, this is the UK.
@JBLFCrulez4 Nah, I'm not buying it, Voldemort is a panzy, his little gang are lame and he has no nose. Dumbledore is lame and got killed by a single spell, H-Piddy is lame and has silly glasses, lets not even get started on Ron, Hermione is less lame and should come and have a some filthy sex with me and that's basically the facts of the matter. I'm glad we came to this agreement.
@spector969 You could just say you don't like Harry Potter? That would be fine you know, i'm not saying you have to like it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
@JBLFCrulez4 I do like Harry Potter, I just bought the entire collection on Blu-ray, I enjoyed the films a lot, and I was even sad when the last one finished, but Dumbledore is a human, Gandalf is a demi-God, so I take issue with your views.
@JBLFCrulez4 It's not so much what he does, it's just what he is that's important, basically an angel or god who is older than Earth itself and in his most powerful form has the power to pretty much do anything he wants,he cannot die, he's incorporeal, he takes on any form and is generally a total badass
@JBLFCrulez4 I'm actually not sure, I read the books so long ago and I can't even remember if that was explained properly, although it seems that his power grows as and when he needs them to, I think he just adapts to the times/situations he's in.

Little tip for you: Theres great books called "The Lord Of The Rings"and "The Silmarillion"that you can actually READ... Dont just watch the movies. Then you would know that Gandalf (as some humans call him) is in fact a demigod and immortal.
forgive him he's just one of those people who thinks that J.K. Rowling made something bigger than Tolkien. Rowling telled a history, Tolkien created a Universe with everything well explained
Gandalf is a Valar, aka, he's one of the original creators of Middle-Earth (which according to Tolkien, is a fictional representation of ancient Earth) Because of that, Gandalf can literally alter the world without him, he doesn't even need the badass staff. Gandalf could open the ground on top of Dumbledore, close it up, and make sure he never escapes. He could even have Dumbledore melt, but he's too cool for that.
PS: Valar and Maia are de Ainurs, agelical spirits that helped Eru Ilúvatar (God) to create Eä (The Universe). The difference between Valar e Maiar is the level of power (the Maiar have the level of power lowest than a Valar.)
Moreover, a balrog isn't simply a troll in flames. Balrogs are Valars of fire corrupted by the power of Morgoth (the most powerfull Valar and the first Dark Lord). And more, the "change of color" of Gandalf have a more deep significance than a simply change colors of clothes and beard. Your lay opinion about Gandalf may change if you read de books of J. R. R. Tolkien.
I have one thing to say to you, my dear ignorant: read "The Silmarillion", "Unfinished Tales" and, also, the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings"; so you will have de morale to say something of Olórin.
Oh yes! You don't know who is Olórin! Well, is Ganldaf's Maia name. You don't know what is a Maia? Read the books that I recomended you.
@itzthez That proves absolutely nothing! Just saying he's a demi god means nothing. You have to look at what they are capable of and then decide who wins. You cant just say, oh he's this so he wins. You might as well also say that Percy Jackson could beat dumbledore, which he clearly couldn't :L
"Dumbledore touched a ring and was forced to be murdered because of it. Gandalf fought a fire demon from the pits of hell to the top of a mountain, defeated it, died, and came back as Jesus"
@Familyd00d Yeah it was scary, i'll give it that, but it didn't really do much. It couldn't breath fire or something like that, it was all about fear.
@twNIGHTMARE01 I've read the harry potter books, but not the lotr books. So i did the fairest thing and based this on both of the film versions, rather than spend £30+ on a book series and then the next month or so reading them just to make a video about it.
:( how could you say these things about gandalf? he took on a belrog and then was reborn. then dumbledore was hit... then died. i thought he was the best? why isn't he alive? .... wait you're basing this off movies? read the books.
@brookerocks121 I've read the harry potter books, but i wanted to make this video and didn't have time to read all the LORT books so i did the fair thing and went off both of the film versions :) And as someone else said in the comments, the fact that dumbledore isn't immortal makes him just the more impressive. And i love Gandalf, but i love Dumbledore more :)
It seems more as though you are comparing the magic systems in the films rather than the wizards themselves. Also, I hate to compare characters in terms of "who would win in a fight", but since you brought it up, there is the point that Gandalf is immortal, and not actually human like Dumbledore. I suppose then that would be a point for Dumbledore since as a human he has so much power, but then it becomes a comparison of magic again. I do approve of the Oblivion theme at the end though!
@gungywamp I'm fine with everything else you put, and i am comparing the magic systems because that's really all that separates them and it the thing that matters most :) But what's wrong with the oblivion theme ?!
@JBLFCrulez4 Haha, I think you missed that I LIKE that you added the oblivion theme! Yes you are right, the magic systems are worlds apart! Tolkien left a lot of his magic unexplained, as a way to add a more mystical/mysterious/ominous/powerful quality to it. This is probably mostly because the main characters are not wizards of any sort. Regarding which magic system is better, they are so different that it's best left to the reader's opinion I think.
@JBLFCrulez4 I WILL MAKE ONE....TONIGHT...just not now.... because im drinking the energy drink you dealt me.....jk i got it from the store around the corner... ;D
dumbledore copied himself and put them into chocolate frogs... BEAT THAT GANDALF!!!!!

maybe if you read the books you would know that gandalf is a demi god basicaly and could rape the shit out of dumbledore

@twNIGHTMARE01 I've read the harry potter books, but not the lotr books. So i did the fairest thing and based this on both of the film versions, rather than spend £30+ on a book series and then the next month or so reading them just to make a video about it.
JBLFCrulez4 7 months ago

I do approve of the Oblivion theme at the end though!
gungywamp 7 months ago
@gungywamp I'm fine with everything else you put, and i am comparing the magic systems because that's really all that separates them and it the thing that matters most :) But what's wrong with the oblivion theme ?!
JBLFCrulez4 7 months ago
@JBLFCrulez4 Haha, I think you missed that I LIKE that you added the oblivion theme! Yes you are right, the magic systems are worlds apart! Tolkien left a lot of his magic unexplained, as a way to add a more mystical/mysterious/ominous/powerful quality to it. This is probably mostly because the main characters are not wizards of any sort. Regarding which magic system is better, they are so different that it's best left to the reader's opinion I think.

@gungywamp I agree completely and this is my opinion :) Not to sound like a complete dick :L
