The problem with shooting like this is pretty obvious by where the barrel is pointing. The recoil pushes you back and the barrel up, which happens to be the barrel location when you squeeze of the next round. this process repeats until you are covering your enemy with a convenient shade of pellets high above his head or until your run out of shells. Your first shot is your only accurate one, so your enemy has a high chance of shooting back after you're empty.
lavid2006, for starters you are shooting wally world skeet shot (low recoil). For finishers, hold your mouse at the end of Nigels barrel. Not a single shot happens in the same place. By the way, nice shooting on the clays.

A good manual is "The Tactical Shotgun" by Gabriel Suarez. The methods are practical and realisitc.
One aspect of defense is physical fitness - if your a lard-ass the likelihood of a perp grabbing the barrel from the side and kicking you in the liver are pretty high.
Its good you spend time on the range - but you need to lose that lard youre carrying around and get your ass in condition. Weapons are no substitute for physical ability. ..and women like men who dont have boobs.

Yup, love the sight of that bolt and reciever. Mossberg is an easy, well priced, 123 shoot shotgun. But to get used to shooting fast its sort of hard. I tried to rapid fire with my mossberg and it would have periodic freezes of one half second or i was either not cycling in perfect harmony thus resulting in the gaps betwwen the rapid shots i had achieved. The most common reasons to obtain a firearm are for hunting or home defense. I doubt you'll either be hunting a target or have one break into your house. The only practical purpose for a lethal weapon is to kill, it's hunting or defense.
i have it cuz it makes a good hobby and it is fun to shoot and get better at it. i did purchase them to kill humane beings. even in the military we use the word "target" and not "person" or "people" and military trains to neutralize human beings!!!
Since it is not recommended to dry fire a shotgun - here is a good way to practice cycling the pump and working the trigger on a mossberg 590 type pumpgun:
1. Make sure the gun is not loaded.
2. Put the safety on.
3. Put a couple of turns of electrical tape around the top of the grip across both the safety and the slide disconnect lever. This will keep the lever pressed and will allow you to cycle the pump without actually pulling the trigger.
Actually this is the first time I have seen anyone state this conclusively with regards to shotguns.
I know that you can dry fire pistols - I've been told so by people who have been doing it for years and I now have years worth of my own experience confirming it.
But when it comes to shotgun , the same people advised against it. Now that I am back to thinking about it - I am simply going to fire off an e-mail to mossberg and get the official line.

Yup, love the sight of that bolt and reciever. Mossberg is an easy, well priced, 123 shoot shotgun. But to get used to shooting fast its sort of hard. I tried to rapid fire with my mossberg and it would have periodic freezes of one half second or i was either not cycling in perfect harmony thus resulting in the gaps betwwen the rapid shots i had achieved. Love this gun, let a crackhead with a pistol come in my home. BOOOYAKAH!!! Checkout my vid showing off my little 12 gauge slut. Peace....

It's actually a Maverick 88. You can tell by the location of the safety switch and the black finish. I have one and I loves it!

Def a mossberg500. The trigger guard gives it away. it has no clip under the reciever and the bolt and forend are also give aways.

The most common reasons to obtain a firearm are for hunting or home defense. I doubt you'll either be hunting a target or have one break into your house. The only practical purpose for a lethal weapon is to kill, it's hunting or defense.

Since it is not recommended to dry fire a shotgun - here is a good way to practice cycling the pump and working the trigger on a mossberg 590 type pumpgun:
1. Make sure the gun is not loaded.
2. Put the safety on.
3. Put a couple of turns of electrical tape around the top of the grip across both the safety and the slide disconnect lever. This will keep the lever pressed and will allow you to cycle the pump without actually pulling the trigger.
4. Practice.

That is a good Idea with the older type of shotgun but with new metallurgy and newer shotguns (guns in general) you can dry fire it if you want

Actually this is the first time I have seen anyone state this conclusively with regards to shotguns.
I know that you can dry fire pistols - I've been told so by people who have been doing it for years and I now have years worth of my own experience confirming it.
But when it comes to shotgun , the same people advised against it. Now that I am back to thinking about it - I am simply going to fire off an e-mail to mossberg and get the official line.
