  • mbssayed10 thanks for the translation

  • Thanks for the info. Ustad Shofi Mondol (He lives is Lalon Akhra, Kustia) might have modified this song for Salma (Closeup 1).

  • @CryForCry On an attempt to trace it, I found that version, sung by Salma, was also sung by Sharifa Rani, a senior singer of Bhawaiya from Rangpur region. So, it's also a possibility that Salma might follow her! But I couldn't find out her time of singing that version. So, conclusion is difficult! Again, lyrics of Salma/Sharifa Rani's version contradicts and weakens the basic concept of the song which was based on some social custom & belief of that region.

    Thanks for your nice cmmnt!

  • @mbssayed10 Thank you for the additional info.

  • please translate title, thanks

  • @asha1053 ...you are welcome...here singer is addressing her friend, who is a goldsmith, ''oh my (goldsmith) friend'', to make a 'Nolok' for her. 'Nolok' is an ornament made of gold which a married girl wears in her nose. According to belief & her social custom, this 'Nolok' carries her honour & loyalty to her husband!...Her poor husband can't provide it her!...so, here is her painful appeal through this song!!! Thanks for the comment...and, I'm so sorry for the late reply!!!...
