Well thankfully the sequel is supposed to star Bruce Cambell as Ash Williams........Just saying that might be worth watching for the campiness, well if the rumors are true.
I found some of the scenes decent, the sub-plots got in the way a lot and the focus on the teens pissed me off but some of the more gruesome death scenes and the 2 back-to-back final battles I enjoyed.
so I liked the scary parts and the stuff that the title says will be in it... funny how that's only about 15 minutes...

I agree with this one. Hell, when me and my friends went to see the film, one of my friends fell asleep. He had a pleasant sleep and blamed it on the heat that day. Looking back, it doesn't seam so weird to fall asleep during the film. It's funny to an extent, but a terribly pathetic let down. Even the end, which was the typical 90's "will there be another" kind of scene, was just no.

They actually had some good ideas for FvJ, such as Freddy working at camp crystal lake and being indirectly responsible for Jason's drowning. Maybe the studio execs thought that Freddy noncing up Jason as a kid might be a bit much.
The idea sounded like a blast the first time that I heard someone mentioning years and years ago, but after seeing it I regretted thinking that it was a good idea.

now like many of the other films you've reviewed I enjoyed the film but it was pretty lame.
the story was stupid and all I heard was garbled nonsense coming from the main character's mouths
the death scenes, near death scenes, and the final battle I liked but the retarded banter between "teens" made the film suck.
I say remake the film with a dark and gritty feel, then the war for which one is better will begin.
a crappy movie with a remake does it improve or retain the original suck?
