  • a quick favour, does any of these fantastic phone support live streaming sports using flash. Or could you try crictime.com and check any of the servers.

    thanks much appreicated

  • @iSaiRAS123 i know for a fact that htc hero suppports flash.. I have the phone

  • does the hro have multi tasking and witch has better wifi signal.ill subscribe

  • @hockeyplayingkid htc hero has multitasking

  • I currently have the HTC Hero, it is the worst phone ihave had. it lags terribly, the messages will not erase without having to reset the phone, you get force close all the time, text messages lag, over all not the best phone=/ im looking for a Palm Pre until next febuary when i can upgrade.

  • @EjayWynn feb 9 new palm webOS phones ok? so be glad yur upgrade is then

  • My hero is so laggy im upgrading to the evo like next month

  • I've had the palm pre plus for verizon for about 5 months now, and I hate it. First of all without the hacks the phone would be unbearable, a program called preware uses the open source capabilities of webos (which is a great OS, but with no dev support really, hardly any apps) and I can install many features that smartphones commonly have now. The phone is based on linux and java so I see potential but until I can install android on it I won't really be happy :( webos wont survive.

  • @zeroXcuber you'll probably have more problems with android. android is just a slow os overall. the reason is that android runs in a virtual machine, which is a kind of hardware emulation. the release of the JIT compiler in 2.2 helped, but it still isn't all that fast. my brothers HTC Droid Incredible (1 GHz/512 MB RAM) performs on about equal ground with my Pre in Gameloft games. i used to have an armv6 android device...two actually, the os would lag without anything running.

  • @zeroXcuber I agree preware saves this phone I had one for five months but I had to get an android phone. Web OS is smooth but with no flash, skyfire or opera I couldn't take it. It was when the Verizon guy told me it wouldn't be upgraded to 2.0 that I bought a Fascinate. People talk about how slow android's OS is but I never found it to be I think it depends where you live, then some people expect their phones to be lightning quick.

  • LOL FAIL webOS palm is going to be ported on htc hero so youll have android + palm webOS

  • @Feliexxxxxxxx CDMA sprint htc hero

  • So i have a bb 9330 on sprint and i want either the hero or the pre b.c of the touch screen but idk if ill miss my keyboard and i hear that the app on these phones suck as far as the facbook and twitter they are something i use everyday and dont wanna miss that

  • @NeiiBaybee if your more of a multitasker get the palm pre

  • which htc hero is that i never seen that at any sprint stores it looks better than the one without the chin

  • I have to choose between these 2, and what do you think I should get for sprint.

  • @Rhinodew10

I love HTC Sense, but the Pre seems really cool too.... good luck figuring out lol.

  • @Rhinodew10 palm pre is a great phone with all that it has and can power but the apps are weak and limited i never had a android phone because i have a pre but i hear that the app store is good and apps are great

  • @tdade13 true but in my opinion i think this is the best os yet they hav little market share in the smartphone world

  • HERO ALL THE WAY

  • HI I HAVE SPRINT AND MY CONTRACT ENDS IN DECEMBER. I REALLY LIKE THE SAMSUNG EPIC BUT IT KINDA REMINDS ME OF THE SAMSUNG MOMENT N MY MOM HAS THAT PHONE. PLUS I DONT WANT TO LIMIT MYSELF TO ONE EXACT PHONE BECAUSE THERES BOUND TO BE A BETTER PHONE COMING OUT IN THOSE 4 MONTHS (I THINK ITS 4 MONTHS AWAY TILL DECEMBER) SO DOES ANYONE KNOW IF ANY BETTER PHONE FROM SPRINT ARE COMING OUT?? OR SHOULD I JUST SUCK IT UP AND STICK WITH THE SAMSUNG EPIC...KEEP IN MIND I REEEEAAALLLYYYY LIKE THAT FONE!!!!!!

  • @seddie4ever1

It doesn't matter what you do when it comes to smart phones. No matter what you buy, sometime 5x better will come out within a few months. If you want a phone, get the Epic. Plus, the TouchWiz UI is better tan what the Moment has. Although, I'm an Evo owner so don't take my word on it.

  • @abzvinny318 samsung phones suck

  • @ALXVid101

Yea, all but one of the people I know with Impressions had to get rid of them. The build quality on the Galaxy S seems decent though. Although, I'm not sure why I said TouchWiz UI is better than Sense, because I definitely prefer HTC Sense over all other Android UIs. That's my opinion though.

  • @abzvinny318 not all samsung phones suck though, its just ive had very bad luck with their phones, i still dont get why they couldnt just come up with an original design for the galaxie phones, i agree with you, sense is better than all the other android ui

  • @ALXVid101

Yea, and which samsung phones have you had?

  • @abzvinny318 tocco lite, some generic samsung flip phone with a name consisting of random letters and numbers, samsung smile, and thats it, they're all terrible phones, but every time i sell my old phone and start saving for a new one, im just too impatient and instead of waiting another week or so to get the great phone that i love, i spring for the cheapest phone so im not completely phoneless!

  • Palm Pre 1st tethering phone.

    Palm Pre better.

  • Comment removed

  • @twisterspin24 lol yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • i now own an evo and i love it, had the pre and it kept breaking well it had software problems and on all of them my keyboard went out, i also had the hero and it never failed me

  • i like the look of the palm pre but i saw it in the verizon store and the keys are just so fuckin small

  • Put WebOS in the Hero's body!

  • @dp100eboggan dumbest idea i've ever heard...

  • @adamlmbawd I prefer WebOS to anddroid and I prefer the Hero's hardware to the Pre. I suspect at some point people will be able to choose which OS they want on their phones. I think there would be a lot of money to be made with that.

  • @dp100eboggan ahh that is true...it'll be here sooner than we expect.

  • @dp100eboggan Probably less. Android is free, while webOS and iOS probably would cost extreme amounts of money to license. You can't have uniformity when you have a conflict of interests (Google vs. Apple vs. Palm vs. Microsoft; they all want different things).

I prefer webOS to Android, but the Hero is a good phone nonetheless.

  • @wdililn Very good point! Either way, it's fun to see all these OS developments and devices!

  • Palm= style winner

    Hero= iPhone killer

  • HTC HERO RULES !!!!!!!!!

  • u should do a video on the newest htc hero from sprint and the palm pre

  • had both phones, i had three palm pre's they kept breaking down ie, speaker stopped working, stopped taking a charge or got so glichtie, just would not work, sprint kept giving my new pre's, sprint customer service is great, I ended up paying full boat for the hero because in my opinion the pre was just not a quality product, it looked nice though, the hero is the best phone ever!

  • The card system (Palm webOS) is pretty dumb. You can only have one card on a screen at a time. With my nexus one (Android), I can have many widgets on a single screen.

With Android, I can put application shortcuts on the screen of choice.

With WebOS--why the hell would I want to scroll through a bunch of applications every single time I want to open something--talk about stupid.

  • @Mercedftw Worked pretty well for the iphone

  • @Mercedftw actually, you're pretty dumb. You've obviously never used WebOS.

  • The Android notification bar is way better

  • I've used both WebOS (Palm) and Android 2.1 (Nexus One) (Google). Android is way better. It's just set up better, more intuitive. The button layout on the android is perfect and it makes so much sense

  • i had a palm pre for a couple months and liked it a lot but switched to hero to try it out, and im switching back to the pre. the hero looks nice but does not run smooth, its very slow and laggy, and i dont like the keyboard at all.

the palm pre is a lot more iphone like and with the 1.4 update is amazing. 3d apps are coming out like crazy too.

  • htc hero is a ugly ass phone looks stupod only reason I dont like it but it is a NICE Phone

  • hero for the fucking win!!

  • hero sucks i had one for 2 month

  • i've had my pre for about 6 months now, so far NO problems at all! i've also reaaalized the battery updates keep the battery life lnonger, can't wait for webos update 1.4 with cam and fash + 3D games :)

  • palm

  • I personally think the pre is a REALLY nice phone. i have one myself. and i am enjoying it =D but idk if i would say its better than the HTC because i never owned one of those. i owned a lot of phones uncluding the iphone and the palm pre is by far the best cell phone i ever had.

  • @lexusES350h I agree. I had the iphone. Don't get me wrong, I love Apple's stuff. Most of my personal computers are Macs. The Palm Pre is the best phone out there. The 1.4 OS is killer. I even had a Blackberry and it pales in comparison to the Pre.

  • Palm Pre runs on what is currently the best smartphone system- Palm WebOS. Try it out for a week and you won't be able to live without it.

The HTC is clunky and outdated by comparison.

  • @eib22 The sad thing is the HTC isnt that old haha. But I never liked the HTC when I saw them in person, they looked on TV but they sucked when i played with one. And I agree the webOS is BADASS! Alot better than whatever the crappy iphone uses. The multi tasking is great. Although I wish I could surf the web while being on the phone at the same time. I got a Palm Pixi btw. Iv had Palm phones my whole life since my first Treo 650. I still have my Treo 650.

  • @eib22 ive had my palm for several months, i love the feel of it. It took me a minute to get used to using it, but now everything is so second nature, i really dont understand how i got along with out it before i came to own one.

  • @wookerton Yeah, its the best mobile OS out there. I'm hoping they come with some new hardware at the CES Show in January.

You gotta give Windows Phone 7 a look to....it's pretty slick.

  • @eib22 windows phone 7 you say... I will check it out. thanks for the tip.

  • @eib22 cgi.ebay {.} com/Palm-Pre-Plus-Pixi-plus-Blackberry-Curve-8330-Lot-/180702575438?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item2a12b67b4e

i am selling palm pre plus and pixi plus if u guys want

  • the palm pre ist the best handy !

  • good vid

  • hero...

  • Pre's doing much better now.

Pre has 3D games, will be getting FULL flash, and video recording soon.

Palm Pre original sucks... but they updated it like 8 times, and it's got a much revised feel to it.

Android is kind of sloppy right now. There are multiple phones with multiple versions.

Palm Pre Plus is good... You'll be able to run many apps at once compared to the normal Palm Pre, which gets quite a few, but not as many.

  • Dont get the pre! Ive had to get % replacements! its a good ass phone but every month something goes wrong! to many technical problems! i know have the hero and its better hero all day

  • ordered my Palm Pre PLUS today, unfortunately theres next to no reviews of it yet on youtube, so i just have to watch Palm Pre videos. eh same thing.

  • i want the Palm Pre so bad... such a nice phone

  • i have a pre and trust me it rapes the stupid hero

  • palm

  • I have ordered a htc hero of t mobile, will it be sprint?

  • Palm Pre awsome phone, I want one badly.

  • hero>palm

  • lol htc pwn the palm gay pre

  • i think the palm is better in the internet

  • WebOS is the best OS i have ever used hands down. Ever since i can remember Palm has always made a stable OS & phone.

  • yeah..except for those that carried Windows...Absolute garbage, they freezup even when there is no load on the system. I know, I've had a 650, 2 700WXs, and 2 HTC Touches...they were all fine at first but after a few months...puke.

  • @RyMuEntertainment

Well i guess they have sorted that now, my dad has the HDC HD2 and i have the hero, the cameras seem better than reveiws say they dont lag or jolt, and well mine hasnt frozen since i got it which was in like august, i think there awsome, trust, the next HTC is going to be an i phone killer :D

  • Do I hold you Liable for that statement...I'm going to get it this weekend.

  • Ok you guys do kno that a 4G network is complete bullshit right?

  • @MrTacoma98

No its not dumbass.....u were born in 1998 which makes u 11 or 12 in which case u dont need a cell phone so fuck off

  • bad comparison palm pre kills that AT&T piece of a turd hero. once its on sprints network it will be a better even battle til then this vid is worthless. i have an overclocked true multitasking palm pre. im sticking with webOS. just wait and see when the palm pre 4g comes out in june. 3g is old news for sprint. notice verizon and at&t battle about 3g with each other but say nothing about sprint? its because SPRINT is already in the next generation. The 4th generation.

  • the hero doesnt have 3G?

  • not in uk, but in US yes

  • 686 new emails,, damn

  • I have over 1000:/

  • @Chris279m I have over 9000

  • having both phones (my wife has the hero) I have to say the Palm pre wins hands down. its so good, I-phone is even copying its app switching platform.

  • htc hero from sprint pleeeezzz

  • How is this even a question? The hero blows this phone away!!!

  • palm pre

  • I have a palm pre, and i love it. I am on my second one, because the first one refused to send text messages. The second one is working great! But i am thinking of getting the Hero because of better battery life, more, better, cooler apps to download, and i like having the T9 texting on the touchscreen instead of only being able to use the keyboard on the pre. Plus, the hero seems more durable as the plastic on my palm pre has cracked on the corner.

  • getting rid of my pre and getting a hero...4 months and 4 pres because of blown loud speakers that rarely get used to music

  • i ant the pre but idk if it has good apps

  • in my experience with the two i'd say go with the android, just because the phones that it is on are of good quality. i love my palm pre for the WebOS it simple and beautiful, but the phone around it is crap, i am currently on my 3rd on in the last 3 months due to blown speakers(that i hardly use) and bad sliding mecanisms. the battery is also horrible after a full charge in the morning im biting nells by 5 hopin to make it to a charger. its very cheaply put together

  • @DURAMAX10100 My Pre died today... :( Checking to see if i want a hero...

  • @DURAMAX10100 I agree, I hope they fix the hardware problems with the next model

  • @DURAMAX10100 ive had my palm for almost 6 months now, ive never had an issue with battery life, or bad sliders. I can definately see how the phone is, by comparison to other smart phones out there, a little on the chincy side, however for me it has always done what it has needed to when i needed it to.

  • i like the palm pre better,

well for me that's wat i think..

  • this cleared all up i will b getting the pre instead

  • Well, there is "only" 10.000 apps in market, but the app store only got about 1000 good/useful apps. Almost all apps in the android market are useful, because android is open-source(unlike the iPhone)... GO ANDROID!!!

  • Dude, i have the Hero, and i can barely find 10 useful applications. Apps and games on the iphone are way better...

  • I have a HTC hero and I claim bullshit, you're jsut being paid by apple to say that.

  • Sorry, but you're just being a fucktard...

    ...and yes, you claim bullshit...

  • blatently your a iphone user.. idiot

  • No, i have the Hero, and i hate iphone so fuck off retard...

  • apps like "Wind machine"? Why is that so useful?

  • palm pre battery life is great, it lasts over 24 hours.

  • ipohone = gay

  • g1 is gfk,plde

  • @bobbydigital82

    ur ugly

  • @bobbydigital82 spelt it wrong :)

  • The Hero for sprint I just got looks totally Different then the one in the Vid. Love the Hero I got. Great Phone

  • the hero in the video is a UK version I think

  • go palm pre

  • Hey everybody checkout my youtube channel! I do cool reviews on macbook and windows apps! Please subscribe!

  • I find it impossible to type with the pre because the buttons are so frickin small

  • thats not tru all the phons are like that

  • Pre

  • im gettin a new phone soon and my heart has always been set on the pre....however, now i cant decide because of the hero and the moment,..im din my best to find things wrong with the other phones so i can know the pre is the one,,but what do u all think!!!!!???? i need your help!!!! please reply as soon as u can...ANYONE!!! thanx!

  • I had both the hero is too sluggish and its too complicated but it looks cool on the other hand the pre is more user friendly and easy to use as far as being a true smart phone it really is a better choice

  • And the Pre isn't sluggish? To be fair I've only used display versions in 02's stores (and yes, I closed all the cards before playing) but it was very very laggy, Palm need to get the GPU up and running really.

The Hero can get a little laggy at times, but with the latest ROMs its smooth as silk, and its no way as bad as the Pre. I wanted to love the Pre, but the lag and lack of apps really killed it. I'll reconsider when my contract is up, but for now the Pre isn't quite there.

  • motorola droid

  • a friend who just got a pre said it has terrible battery life. Ive seen similar stories online..

I'b biassed tho, got an android device myself

  • if i only use my pre for about 2 to 3 hours a day battery last 2 days

  • the hero whit new software just eats the palm

    pre

  • Palm Pre is the best!

  • those the palm pre has a facebook ,myspace application? please respone back to me asap

  • dont no bout myspace but definitley a facebook app

  • nice video but you do know that you can just push the center button to minimize

  • the Pre seems to work better than the Hero, but its damn ugly. I went for the Hero. Its quite good.

  • Can the htc hero be. Flashed to cricket or metro pcs will it be fully flashed and will that disable the app store please answer?!?!?

  • If Palm releases a phone with a microSD card slot, I will buy it in an instant!

  • For me it would depend on which carrier the phone is on. But for now Android is my OS of choice. Hopefully my next phone will have it.

  • hurray for telus' gsm model of the hero =D

probably getting that next year if cus i dun wanna spend too much money on the newest thing next year :X

  • Great review...just what I wanted compared. Thanks!

  • Hero (Sprint Version) wins easily. Besides, who uses keyboards anyways? Soon, the keyboard will be obsolete ...i'm just saying

  • I hate to tell you this (actually, I don't), but hardware keyboards / button arrays will never go away in the near future. There is too much of an advantage of having hardware buttons ready at your fingertips. Why do you think more advanced devices are trying their hardest to emulate the feel of physical keyboards with haptic feedback?

That said though, software keyboard methods are getting more advanced and responsive these days.

  • yeah, keyboard buttons will go away! with the innovation of products such as the iphone and htc units, keyboards will soon be obsolete. at this point, touch screen technology is slowly bringing keyboard users up to speed. in other words, they're transitioning u guys over. in response to u, advanced devices DO NOT come with keyboards. just look at the the iphone and hero. these phones are the strongest out! besides, the palm's keyboard is awful, terrible, garbage. palm loses this battle, sorry!

  • Actually the strongest HTC device is the Touch Pro 2, I believe, and it has a physical keyboard.

  • huh, the touch pro 2? are you mad! LMAO! the Hero runs on android, plus it's the only HTC product that has HTC Sense....the touch pro 2 is no comparison. besides, the pro has a keyboard and keyboards will soon be obsolete! Oh by the way, the Hero has a 5.0 mp camera!

  • Ha! a better camera and operating system is all that does it for you? You say keyboards will be obsolete but you are obviously retarded or else you wouldn't say exactly what I said and try and use it as your point. Sense UI is just a skin. And I do love Android and I do hate Windows but I'm not getting into which one is more powerful. Hardware-wise they are on level ground (besides the camera) but the TP2 has a bigger screen, a KEYBOARD, a VIRTUAL KEYBOARD, and all sorts of other cool shit.

  • Put the same version of Android on TP2 and it make Hero cry.

  • Comment removed

  • Bottom line: touch pro 2<palm<HERO!

  • keyboards are not obsolete... and i doubt they ever will be, please dont act like you know what your talking about. You can port over android or the sense ui if you really want it, however there are little apps for android right now although i still like it more than the iphone, your underrating windows completely, you really can do anything with it within reason

  • "little apps for android right now" what do you mean by that there are 10,000 apps for the android platform and still growing if compared to the Iphone which has over 100,000 it would seem little but what context are you referring to.

  • It looks like the pre has cheaper plastic than the hero...

  • for some reason they both look ugly?

  • i know they should make it on the NEW hero not that pice of shit

  • I will say it is more user friendly, the android system is friendly but made for more technical users, if you general person uses it, it will give them no trouble, and if an advanced person goes to use it they have the whole world to do what they want on it

  • HTC Sense is user friendly...

  • I love sense

  • no, android is a way better os, palm is good, but android is all open ,I can replace anything on it, including the keyboard and main messaging app

  • Same can be done on the Pre FYI. Android is good though I agree.

  • i got the hero two days ago and it is awesome. i have sprint.

  • lol I thought you said you got two hero's I was like "omg I hate this guy and I dont even know them, I want a new phone so bad and this dipshit got 2?!" then I re-read it and was like "wow I have some anger issues"

  • UMM yea hero hands down.

  • i had my mind set on the pre until i actually messed around with it at a sprint store i would of picked it out but the keyboard is just so damm compact it would of been better if it came out from the side and not on the bottom otherwise i would of bought it...i got the hero instead and its just amazing!!

  • both phones are awesome..i like the here...my birthdate is at 5:51 in the video =]]

  • i like the hero better (slightly biased because i love android) but i love both phones

  • Some people commenting really do make stuff up. Someone said the Hero doesn't do multitasking. Not true. Also, the lag problems in the initial release (as mentioned in reviews and evident in this video) are wiped out by the firmware update released about 6 weeks ago.

I have a Hero and haven't used the Pre yet, but i can say that the Hero is a GREAT phone. Thousands of apps, a superb screen and really good customisation. The only negative i've found is no flash on the camera.

  • t-mobile doesnt have good phones like the other services!

  • I'm a HTC fan, but i like Palm Pre much better rather than htc hero.

  • The Pre dominates. Most Pre haters have only read about them or touched the screen in a Sprint store. First off, the keyboard is a TRILLION times better than a virtual keyboard. I can type so much faster than anyone with an iphone or HTC. It's clean, slick, works seemlessly and the apps are now rapidly growing. How is this even an arguement?

  • Pre is the best phone !! you can say what you want... iphone is good too, but pre is better than all

  • heros so much better than the pre , the pre lucks so ugly and is to hyped up

  • the pre is bad ass my option... way smother and looks better. The HTC has alot of extra stuff because its a newer phone but the pre is runs smoother faster and looks better than that square brick. PALM PRE ALL THE WAY!

  • search youtube for it............

  • you can still install a keyboard in the screen so stfup

and the is alot of thing that you can install

  • HTC wins

  • Hero wins pre's keybord is useless, it has the accelermoter, but when u want to type u have to slide it up

  • How is the keyboard useless? Even though the physical keyboard is small it's still better than any virtual keyboard. And on top of that the Pre now has a virtual keyboard too.

  • the pre doesnt have virtual keyboard... and the keyboard is useless because it has an accelerometer but when u want 2 type u have to flip it around and slide it up... PRE is to HYPED up... I still think its kool, but not that great of a phone
