  • @vasbyollu This "imbalance" that Elliot is talking about is called scoliosis, which is when your vertebral spine is curved from side to side instead. If you are suffering from this you could probably tell by looking at your back in a mirror and checking whether or not your spine is in a straight line.

  • hey Elliot i took MMA classes for a while and while grappling the instructor he put me in a hold and my neck popped and ever since then my neck always cracks. All the time i have to crack it or else it gets suuperr stiff. whats up with that

  • @paaaatrika if you sleep on your stomach that's why your legs longer than another. I have the same issue. If thats your issues try sleeping on your side or back.

    All you say sounds reasonable - even though you try to summ it up in easy language it's still correct.

    To your "question"/lil mistake in your clip:

    It's called "Lovett-Brothers" named after Robert W. Lovett who wrote about the connection between Cervicalis and Lumbalis.

    He also found out that Axis and L4 has connections and so on.

    All summed up: every Cervicalis has an antagonist in the Lumbalis.

  • Hey Elliot! I don't remember having this growing up (I'll be 24 at autumn).

    It *seems* like one of my legs are longer than the other by about half an inch, i use an inlay in my right shoe for this reason so I guess it's pretty bad. I've been to the doctor about it but, you know, treat the symptoms, and the statistics will look great. But i know this *could* be due to an imbalance, or tightness. Any tips tips on this? I've got no job so i can't really afford seeing i chiropractor or anything. Thx

  • @strengthcamp Great Vid !!, I too suffer from scoliosis and this was very informative. In my experience hanging stretches are very helpfull and sleeping on your back as often as possible.

  • your focus right now should be on alignment of your L5 and atlas and straigtening out your hips and pelvis. This is all done by stretching regimens as elliot mentioned. after that you can then focus on strengthening the weaker side of your body in order to improve balance and decrease the degree of curvature. it is typical north american practice to suggest surgery because its all about making money. but im a walking example of how stretching and therapy can fix scoliosis. (start 18 deg, now 8)

  • i have scoliosis my self but not congenial it just developed after an injury when i was in my growth spurt. im 19 now been doing osteopathic treatment for about 8 months and pretty much everything elliott told you is right. the reason for curvature of the spine is because muscles on the convex side of the curve are shorter and weaker than those on the concave side which are more extended and stronger because they are trying to prevent a complete collapse of the spin to one side....

  • really enjoyed this video. I have a question. I am a female and new to lifting. My right hip is higher then my left and my left shoulder is higher then my right. I carry my kids on my right hip so Im guessing this is the cause. my core is also weak from pregnancy. I have been lifting for a month now and dont want to lose the progress I have made, but I also know that if my core is weak and my body aliment is off im not goin to make much progress and will be prone to injury. what should I do?

  • I watched this whole thing, I used to have scoliosis but overcame it doing EXACTLY what Elliot said. Turning off your strong side is probably more important than totally shredding the weak side with weights. Also, way to walk the line real careful and not give him any dangerous advice.

  • YO ELLIOT! my buddys mom has multiple sclerosis (hope i didnt butcher the word) in the knees. Shes in incredible pain all the time and on pain pills. Shes had multiple surgeries and havent done shit. Minus the fact shes in pain, any workouts to get her strength back up?

But does being too sexually active have any affect on muscle growth. So like if I masturbate way too much will that make it harder for me to gain muscle or easier or is it just null and void for all of this.   • elliot, i myself was born with a back problem that was mixed with scoliosis. I was supposed to go to surgery and what saved me and strengthened my back was that i swam. I swam a lot. if he swims a lot it can strengthen and help him straighten his back out

  • Yo Elliot, you got anything for a starting boxer? I was about 105kg last summer now im at 68kg 6'1" after a little less than a year of boxing. Im not exactly looking to build muscle cause that is basically gaining weight and moving up in the weight class. I im just looking to get power/strength/endurance.
