  • Amazing call on the prison. Yes I picked that scene because he is a prisoner looking out at freedom he is denied.

  • Where exactly in California is the prison located? It reminds me of San Quentin.

  • Glad to find this also. This is my favorite version of this fine song. Uriah Heep, and it was also covered by Sheena Easton, which is also good, but in my opinion, not as good as this gal sings it. A gem, I too had it on cassette at one time, recorded from an FM radio station. I figured I could find it on youtube if I tried hard enough. Thanks for posting this! Rock on.

  • @Joseph03743 Sheena Easton is my favorite singer and I really like her version of this song.

  • like most bands before MTV, they did not become famous. This is their only album, apart from some soundtrack work. After MTV became big, say 1983 and on, even mediocre bands hit the big time because of their video. Hard to believe that MTV actually showed videos most all of the day.

  • What happend with this band?

  • @MrStig44 They broke up in 1986.

  • Sheena Easton did this song to

    a great cut

  • @twolfb4u I love her version.

  • Both this and Uriah Heep's versions are great!! I think this version was the original, correct?

  • @BIGBUCK20 : Yes this is the original. Heep covered the song in '82, Sue Sadd did this song in '80.

  • My then wife brought this LP home from work one night, and we loved it. I still have an unopened copy, but alas I don't have a turntable!

  • Saw Sue Saad & The Next at Hop Sing's in Marina Del Rey, CA back in the day. I think T-Bone Burnett opened for them. A very cool concert. Too bad they never got the attention they should have.

  • whatever became of this band? I like Uriah Heep's version better :-)

  • @Heepster69 they broke up after the album charted at 126 or so. They were signed by planet records and not managed to well. Like many bands they faded into time. Some new material made it to the films Looker and Radioactive Dreams. Probably the best part of those movies.

  • @Heepster69 This band broke up in 1986 as I already explained. I don't mean to be rude, but I like Sheena Easton's version better as well. Unfortunately, only part of her version is available on Youtube but I might be able to upload the full version.

  • I know what you guys mean it is a great song. Luckily I have a copy that I bought when it was new. It's on a 45 but it's in good condition and I can listen to it when I feel the need.

  • You are very lucky!!

  • I can't find 'Double Yellow Line' anywhere! It was used in the 1980 movie, 'Roadie' & it's a good song, as I recall!

  • Thank You for filling a void in my life! I used to have this song on a cassette that I would listen to almost every day on a large portable AM/FM Cassette recorder player I used in my car since it sounded better than what was stock in a 1979 Futura LOL. One day around 1981 I left it in the car and someone stole the whole radio with that tape in it! BUMMER! I never could get that song out of my head. I would be interested in buying a copy of it if someone has one for sale.

    Again, Thanks

  • Your welcome, it is a shame that som many songs from our youth are not available on MP3. Unless they are huge POP hits. Who has an LP player anymore?

  • How are you doing, dude???

  • @rodensweet

Your youth? Dude, these songs are a part of my youth too and i'm 18

i have this lp and i do have an lp player

you can find it all if you really really search for it :-p

    i love this band!

  • I've been trying to find this song forever. Thanx so much.

  • your welcome

  • Oh, that's great, thanks! I absolutely loved Uriah Heep's version which is like a great Foreigner song, now I also know where it came from!

  • saw sue saad & the next in portland ,Oregon open for the boomtown rats in like 1981 or somthin..

  • Yeah I saw the same concert in San Jose Ca, don't remeber to much about the Boomtown rats, Sue was better, maybe maybe not, or I was wasted and can't remeber, the good old days.

  • The Boomtown Rats were headed by Bob Gledoff of "Live Aid" fame. Agree that Sue was better! Is Sue still alive?

  • Can this be found on CD at all???

  • No it topped at like 82 in 1980 and has never been re-released and Planet records is no more, so it will prbably never make it to Itunes or anything like that.

  • Thanks!! Not even in Japan!!!

  • Uriah Heep covered this song on their 1982 album "Abominog". All these years I thought theirs was the original. Thanks for putting this up, now I know where it came from.

  • Another Michael Towers masterpiece!

  • I did not know he was involved, thank you for educating me!!

  • Such wonderful memories! Outstanding song!!! Thank you so much for posting!! Young Girl??? The 80's did rock didn't they?

  • Look forward to it!! I didn't mean to comment twice but it did not look as if it took at first. Or perhaps it was the beer! Thanks again!!!!!!!!! Is Sue Saad still alive?

  • Such great memories!!!!!! Thank you again so much for posting!!!!!!!!
