I'm halfway through this documentary, and I'm still waiting to hear about the moderate Muslims that are AGAINST jihad. This title is totally misleading (at no fault of giramino) because they keep talking about the extremists. Hopefully they'll get to the real topic soon!
The Honor killing aren't even Islamic they have to do with culture. And if PBS would have wanted a film about extremists it would have asked for one. I think they were right to say it didn't fit into the series and maybe could be put on at a later date on as a stand alone. Only FOX would see this as balanced.

They interview the moderate Muslims and show their plight. They talk about very important issues. PBS did not say the same thing you're saying. Why did they decline the offer instead of comong on saying what you say or wha ttheir reason is?
This documentary is ok, but if the title is "Muslims Against Jihad", then that should be the BULK of the film, not the balance that is here which shows more about the existance and influence of the political jihadists. For every minute of showing moderate and progressive Muslims, there are 5-10 minutes of showing those with a terrorist mentality. If the balance had been reversed, I bet PBS woudl have aired it, and that FOX would have shunned it.
They showed what the radical Islamists believe to show what moderate Muslims are up against. They were right to do it. PBS has many great documentries. They should not have rejected this documentry. This important documentry talks about important issues many people prefer to sweep under the rug because to appease the radical Islamists because of their fear of being called ''Islamopphobes.''
This is a great effort, however, they are rehashing the stuff we know about muslims who are against the west. I wanted to see normal muslim families (which are present and numerous) who do not have an issue mixing their religion & western cluture. There are many of these people but are scared of the radicals just as you and I are. I wanted to hear their voice as the title suggested.
Unfortunately, there is much more evidence of extremism in Islam than there is of moderation. So, the portrayal of moderate Muslims in society must show them as the ones who reject Islamic Jihadists. That there is so much Islamism shown in this documentary is, the truth of it.
