  • Hi I decided to go ahead and in the slower Cooker and it turn out so very nice, it was 20 time better then when I used my little yogurt make in small cups. I am so delighted. Thanks for the recipe that I used.

    Marcia from Spokane WA

  • @MarciaSpen Wow, I have to try to use the slow cooker, if it worked for you, it will work for me, too. Thanks for the tip!

  • Could I use a Slower Cooker, I did a Google search and found yogurt recipes but I like your recipe and way to make it, I just want to see if I can use a slow cooker

  • @MarciaSpen Go ahead and try. I have never used a slow cooker for the milk, so I am not sure, but trying does not hurt. Let me know if it worked.

  • can you use goats milk instead of cows milk?

  • @geoffdundee It is worth to try! Milk is milk.

  • why do we need to add sour cream to your recipe?

  • @toebbby99 You don't have to add sour cream, I only did it to make the yogurt smoother and sweeter, but, I have made yogurt without sour cream, just adding some plain yogurt to convert the milk into yogurt. It is just a personal choice.

  • If you use semi skimmed milk you get a thinner yoghurt

  • Wow my kids are gonna LOVE this. I hate all the junk that is in our food now. Great vid.

  • @TIGGERCOOKIES Thank you! Just a tip; it is better to use plastic containers than the glass ones, since the plastic releases heat slowly, letting the yogurt become thicker than in glass container.

  • Wicked! I'm gonna make my own yogurt now. Enough of wasting my money buying Yoplait. I have a question though, how would we make a thinner yogurt? I want one with the same consistency as Yoplait's yogurt.

  • @chanchiem Just mix it with some water. There is a yogurt-water mix called Than, now it is sold in a bottle, but it is simple to make; just use 1/4 yogurt and 3/4 water. You can add some shreded cucumberand dill to the yogurt to make jajiki; a yogurt dip (garlic or garlic powder with add to the taste).

  • @chanchiem i saw another vid on here where the guy didnt like it thick so he just used 2% . it looked like Yoplait when he was done.

  • So I can just use my homemade yogurt to make new batches and I will not need to buy anymore yogurt?

  • That's really cool. Let's say I wanted to add fruit or some sort of flavor to it. Would I add it after it's turned to yogurt or before or does it make a difference?

  • @exacerbatedtaboo First let it turn into yogurt, then you can add fruits, some oatmeal, walnuts and almonds, even raisins, vanila and cinnamon, and you can have this instead of cakes and pastries; a healthier choice.

  • @Yaziecups Are you just guessing, or have you actually tried to make homemade yogurt? People have been making yogurt for thousands of years by adding some yogurt to milk which has the non-pathogenic acidaphillus bacteria that multiplies to become yogurt. I know it sound too simple to be true, but my family and friends never bought or saw yogurt for sale in their countries, because they made yogurt with their leftover yogurt and from a lot of milk. Try it!

  • @BeautyHealthTravel ok intervesting i didn't mean to sound rude its just that i seen many videos where people make things with the same ingredient such as making horchata with horcahata.

  • @Yaziecups Have you not taken Biology? Bacteria are living things too. They reproduce T_T. Maybe you should become more educated before posting nonsense comments.

  • woow!!! it is like magic!!! cant belive it

  • What is the shelf life of this homemade yogurt? Does it expire quickly?

  • @sugarstylez It can stay well for a week for sure, even two weeks if your refrigerator temperature setting is low.

  • very nice and easy way way to make yogert thank you for your help i love it

  • @MrSarkarezy You welcome! Enjoy!

  • if your making yogurt y do u need yogurt?

  • @DABieber12 Yes, you need a little yogurt to make a lot of yogurt; the probiotics in the old yogurt are necessary to multiply in the milk and make the new yogurt.

  • WELL EXPLAINED! THANKS!

  • @REALDADD You welcome! Eat a lot of yogurt; it has probiotics; the nonpathogenic (good) bacteria that is much needed for the intestinal flora and the immune system.

  • nice video...my mom makes homemade yogurt too. my mom usually stirs the milk while it's heating on the gas and coming to a boil. i dont know if you know this but from here you can make clarified butter and ghee which is really healthy and has lots of beneficial for your bodies.

  • @tulip24r Yes, it is better to stir the milk when it is coming to a boil, depending what kind of pot are you boiling the milk in. The stirring helps for the milk not to stick to the bottom of the pot.

  • why do you need sour cream?

  • @msbrownbutter Sour cream makes the plain yogurt taste more sweet than sour. Usually plain yogurt (the original) was not sweet at all.

  • This looks very easy to make! Thanks for posting :) Will definitely try!

  • I am defiantly making this

  • @HARRYOGANESYAN Believe me, you will save a lot of money, and it is fun, too.
