tkd can be used yes, you can use all martial arts in a real fight ( if you have the exp), but tkd is not as usefull as lets say muay thai, thats just a simple fact

its easier to punch/elbow someone in the face then show some fancy high kicks or spinning kicks, and you dont always have the room for kicks
