  • will verizon fios be Dynamic ip?

  • @WhatiDoWhenBoredv2 I believe FIOS from Verizon does give you a dynamic ip.

  • 5:51 No porn?

    SON...

    I AM DISSAPOINT.

  • In the instructions, mine says "admin" and "admin". It started to work but then put me to 401 Unauthorized and won't let me in again.

  • @ganyuehan Its hard to say what happened. The first thing I would try is reseting the router back to factory defaults which will make the user and pass admin again. To do this look for a recessed reset button on the router and use a paper clip to hold it down for at least 10 seconds. The router will reset and should allow you back in.

  • i have a linksys wrt54g2

i've done that you did. the light's on thr linksys say its sending data

but the pc and laptop got no connection

and they say that that router(linksys) does not get any ethernet

  • if anyone needs help setting up give me a message!

  • ok, i've already connected the router and modem, but the problem is when i trying connect the router with my laptop, there is no connection! but when i directly connect the modem to my laptop, they are connected. what happen?? i want to install and configure my router...

    can you help me please??

  • @firsanilyas You need to connect the Ethernet cabled from the Ethernet port on the modem to the WAN or Internet port on the router. You then use a second Ethernet cable to connect the router to your computer (laptop or desktop). This Ethernet cable goes from one of the LAN ports on the router to the Ethernet port on your computer. You should then be able to go to the router address in your browser, shown in this video, and configure it.

  • im using a cisco router now

  • when i went to 192.168.1.1 and it worked so i want it to work for my laptop and playstation how do i do this ?

  • @hayden123601 Your routers configuration utility will be a little different from the ones shows in these videos but the steps you need to go through are the same. Watch this video and the next one, part 2 and you will know how to configure your router. Connecting your laptop wirelessly to your router is no different from connecting to any other wireless access point. We do have videos, sections 4 and 5, that walk you through getting all your devices connected and online on our website.

  • what do i do it says the 192.168.0.1 is having issues???

  • @hayden123601 It may be that 192.168.0.1 isn't your routers gateway address. What router do you have?

  • @hpcbdvd a dlink wireless n router

  • @hayden123601 192.168.0.1 is the usually gateway ip for dlink routers. Is the router working otherwise? What browser are you using and what is the actual message that appears onscreen when you enter the ip address into the browsers address bar?

  • u r the best Non profit Organisation Employee

  • could i by my router from tiger direct

  • is this how to set up all routers do u have to go on the internet and type in the ip adres please help

  • @BROSTERYO The IP address you enter depends on the routers maker. For most it is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. 2Wire routers which usually come with AT&T DSL service are 192.168.1.254. Do a Google search for your router make and or model and gateway ip address or configuration IP and you should find it. You should also be able to find the manual in PDF form by searching.

  • Good pace. Good video quality and pretty good editing. Keep up the good work and please continue to share your knowledge.

  • ur's don't help me at all...i have a microsoft base station mn-500.....it's don't match at all with what u say!!!

  • @adinaa18 try going to 192.168.2.1 in your browser. According to microsoft kb article number 331950 that is the correct address to access your routers configuration.

  • it tells me domain not found for both ip addresses....wtf....how do i do this????

  • @fufuahmed The ip address to get into the routers configuration should be 192.168.0.1 Are you able to connect to the Internet through the router?

  • i have an old D-link DI-713 router and when i connect my moden to the d-link router the internet goes out...but all the lights are on...i have no idea what to do! help pleas?

  • If i have a laptop, and a desktop that i would like to both connect wirelessly. do i have to only configure the wireless router on one of the two desktops or laptops, or do i have to configure the router on both of them? please answer as soon as possible.

  • You connect the router to your modem and all of your computers get their Internet connection from the router. You should watch the earlier lessons in the series. You can get them by going to my YouTube page.

  • is it necessary to get a router from ur isp or u can jus buy it anywhere. thx

  • @pathankhan39 Usually your isp will give you a modem router combo box for free. If they want you to pay for the router or worse pay a monthly fee keep in mind that a basic router is only about $40 at the store.

  • if you had a dsl splitter (fone+rj11 ports) and an rj11 port to connect to on your modem + an rj45 to connect to your router, would that work?

    thanks

  • cant you use a fone/adsl splitter?

  • Sorry there are so many ways to connect phones these days. I should have asked which one you were talking about. Yes if you have DSL you can split the line before it goes in the modem with a splitter sending the phone line to the phone and the adsl to the modem. You then connect the Ethernet cabling from the modem to the WAN or Internet port on the router.

  • what about for a normal fone not voip?

  • As in a regular phone line? No it won't work. You can connect a regular phone to a VOIP modem though.

  • are you able to use a fone with the set up?

  • If you mean a VOIP/Internet phone, yes is will work. You plug the phone modem into one of the 4 Ethernet ports on the router and it will get its access to Internet.

  • can you use any modem?

  • Yes you can. Any cable or DSL modem with work with any router.

  • just another quik Q. If u set ur SSID to invisible, how do u access it? do u search for the name presuming you know it? thanks again

  • You enter the SSID manually. For Vista and 7 you go to Network and Sharing Center, Set up a new connection or network, Manually connect to a wireless network and then fill in the SSID, Encryption type and Security Key.

  • how many connections an that d-link router have at once? Also is a modem vital?

  • It has 4 Ethernet ports on the back and the unit can handle around 15 wireless connections before it starts to slow down. The modem connections the router to the Internet. If you don't want Internet access you can just use the router alone as a switch to connect your computers together in a home network, but most people need Internet access.

  • this is the best help I've had

    where's part 3

  • Section 3 Lesson 1 only goes to Part 2. You can watch all of the video lessons at the web address listed in the description of this video.

  • @hpcbdvd To Set up the router settings on my desktop does my desktop have to have an NIC or would it not?

  • To set up the router you do need a wired connection. If your desktop is near the router you should connect it to the router with an Ethernet cable and do the setup from the desktop.

  • Make sure you watch section 2 as well.

  • thnx a lot

    jerry

  • THank You
