I rather have this to the T6. Peek torque ie. 320Nm @ 1600 rpm and a more gears, 5 spd auto instead of 4.
Off course there are 3.2 I6 and 4.4 V8 but if I had a choice of 2.5T and T6, definitely the light pressure turbo cause there's not much difference in acceleration 0 - 100 Km/h. The 4 Spd auto in the T6 is waaay too tall!!
@godzillat6 Fair enough you have two thumbs up from other YouTube users, but you're talking complete and utter shite. The best engine suited to the Volvo XC90 is the 2.4 litre engine diesel, torque is what matters with such a weighty vehicle.
I drive the 2004 Volvo 2.5Turbo Five Cylinder and it has plenty of power. actually way more than I ever need. And I'm averaging a minimum of 26 miles per gallon. that's pretty good. I'm very happy. especially considering that Toyota's Fully Hybrid Highlander is only getting about 26 miles per gallon. but then again my Volvo is a much finer car than the Toyota. Volvo is just amazing. Although I hate that Volvo is owned by Ford. I don't trust Ford at all! I actually despise Ford. Ford and GM, yuck
why don't you read the title of the video and it's description?
it's 2.5 liter turbocharged. and it's chip tuned as well, but i don't know the exact figures of power/torque gained with chip tuning, because it's previous owner did it.
the most popular volvo tuning in russia is BSR, so i gues it's around 252 bhp / 410 Nm instead of stock 210 bhp / 320 Nm.
nooo shit i read the title but im saying what country r u from because in USA where i am from, they stopped putting the 2.5 engine in the xc90. now they use the 3.2 v6 and 4.4 v8
I have driven Volvos with both engines, and I would choose the 2.5T for fuel economy, performance, and the fact that they are easier to tune than the 3.2 because of the turbo.
It has 236ft. lbs. of torque at 1500-4500rpm, so in normal driving, it feels like it has a large V6 or a small V8. Also, the ECU can be upgraded on the 2.5T, along with an exhaust system, it will produce 245hp and 275ft. lbs. torque, then you can add a K&N cold air intake for another 15 or so odd horsepower and about the same amount of torque. The new 4 cylinder Toyota Camrys aren't very slow, they do 0-60 in 8.7 seconds, when you think about the fact that they were designed for "aging" drivers.
need the v8

toooooooo slow for 2.5t v5
imandanmarki 6 months ago
wow, that is slow. seriously, my 2000 voyager with 200,000 miles is just as fast

100 what??? Thats 100 km/h which is 60 mph.
My Jeep is diesel and hits 60 mph in under 9 seconds!!! and its bigger and heavier!!
I thought this T5 engine is supposed to have some guts!

I heard the gearboxes on T6s is weak and breaks a lot. And yep, 4 gears auto is absolutely out of date.
inf0rmale 3 years ago 3
yeah youre right, but that was the old T6 - the new T6 is based in the SI6 3.2 and shares the same 6-speed gearbox as the diesel and the V8 as well

I'm not bashing the speed, cause I like volvos.
But what were they thinking putting a 4cyl in a 4500lb suv?
ihatetrends 3 years ago
It's a 5-cylinder turbo.
perfoodleschnitz 3 years ago 3
yeah my bad. haha
ihatetrends 3 years ago
now its the 3.2 in the us

Shit...good accelation!!
Ugglan233 3 years ago
a 2.5t should NEVER be on an SUV!
ThePaperBoy21858 3 years ago
Why not? It's not fast, but it provides good acceleration for most people, and it is easy to tune for more power.
volvo23t 3 years ago
exactly what shawtiee1085 said!
ThePaperBoy21858 3 years ago
I never understood how anyone could say these turbocharged Volvos were underpowered.

Nice sound and accelation!!

u must be a senior to think THAT actually sounded and accelerated good!

5 speed automatic. like in all other contemporary volvos.

is that the 3.2 because in 2007 they took it away.well at least in US

3.2 V6 is worse than 2.5T, imho.
V6 has just a bit more power, but 2.5T (thanks to turbo) has a wider range of enormous torque.
Ford/Volvo just "sucking" your money by selling you bigger engines.
inf0rmale 3 years ago
It is a 3.2 inline 6, not a V6.
volvo23t 3 years ago
this engine is too small to move around a 4500 lb car. i would stick with 3.2

this has no performance. its slower than a four-cylinder toyota camry.

not the hybrid. its very quick. check my channel; the video is called toyota camry top speed

@volvo23t
Mine is a 3.0 Diesel, 376ft. lbs of torque 1600-3900rpm (redline 4500), and 218hp. 0-62mph = 9 seconds! STOCK...and its automatic.
