  • you are most excellent in africa iam proud of u

  • i wish i was among the singers lol you can sense the way the music is electrifying.

  • I'm so excited for my choir to do this song!! We just started it...I hope we can do it justice!! :) :)

  • here is the words:

    |: Deep River, my home is over Jordan, Deep River, Lord, I want to cross over into campground. :|

Oh don't you want to go

    To that gospel feast,

    That promised land

    Where all is peace.

  • My Choir is singing this in our spring concert...maybe you have heard of us... The Lincoln High School Choir of Thief River Falls, MN

  • Tnis group was so good mpaka music festival at kicc was a night mare if not a trauma to someone like me. Wish someone could post their "upendo hauna wivu" song.

  • too much discovery channel. the world is more than that, travel alittle, it will help alot. we live in 21st century, you are stuck in the 18th century. you need to do a radical makeover bc the way you think is light years back.

  • what an ignorant comment.

  • Ignorant? Ignorant is turning your back on your own roots. Why a Robert Mugabe who enslaves and tortures? Because he doesn't care about his people, only himself: just like the haters and apartheid-makers that he emulates. Like I say, this choir is technically brilliant, but they are not within their own tradition.

  • lijaba, where can I find the old Muungano music i.e. Wanyama wacheza, Amka kumepambazuka tena and the rest of the patriotic pieces. I have managed to get a few CDs from St. Louis African Chorus(US) but none with the above pieces.

  • Choir singing is so much fun - I know it from my own experience. Hope the choir singing will exist in the future.

This videos are giving me much hope. <3<3<3

  • this is a national treasure!! We cannot let choir just die! Please post more of these. This is in league with the brooklyn tabernacle choir...if well managed...

  • i wish i could understand the words to some of the Gospel songs...but even though i cant.. i still the love listening to the Gospel choirs

  • This is African Polyphony. A lot of Palestrina influence. I never paid attention to these folks after the infamous "wanyama wachweza ni Mshangilio" becouse of Nyayo debacle.. But now, I am in awe...

  • Muungano hoyee!! You must unite the whole country from the ODM and PNU belching snakes. Come together Kenyans like Muungano or its over. Seek Jesus. Los Angeles.

  • mnaimba vizuri ajabu

  • great song

  • this is so great.........I love it...........:))

  • i am a founding member of Mc

  • lijaba! Could you kindly advice me on how I can get Muungano songs on tape or CD? I have visited a couple of shops while in Kenya but they didn't have it-even Assanands!

  • i have them,i have Misa Luba

  • My dream Kenyan Choir, Muungano! i like your gifted melodies, if u can manage pliz bring me on your tube the song 'Mutakatifu Bwana mungu wamageshi' sung some time in 1993-4 . i liked the balanced pitches in that song God bless u

  • where are they now?

  • can we have some lyrics and translation please?

    god bless u

  • Very good keisha ...u.s.a

  • when i say setting a bar i mean in Kenya.

  • Muungano choir used to rule in the 80s, i was young but i really loved to watched and hear them. They set a bar very high that no choir has reached so far. i just wonder if they are still together.

  • Best choir kenya will never have and remember boniface the choirmaster holds a masters degree in classical music from latin America but they institustuonalised the choir so much that it lost the kenyan audience. i love thier original songs like 'wanyama wa polini na ndege wa angani' during moi's time not to forget bonifaces master piece in "missa lulu'

  • That was the problem with Moi. Whenever he saw a good thing that captured Kenyans' attention, he'd hijack the whole thing till it lost meaning. Muungano was one of those sad cases. However, Muungano is still around and they do tours. I just have never found a place to buy their music as hard as I have looked.

  • Amazon (UK) has some few CDs. I bought some recently. Just check wih it

  • I will tell you that muungano was founded by Musicians under the the direction of moi who had his own idea of this form of communication.

  • beautiful!!

  • ...absolutely,positively, the best gospel choir from Kenya to date, bar none !!!

  • Muungano songs are the best choral arrangements that ever happenned in Kenya. I wish they come back to live again...I have sang most of their songs and i really enjoy them. Please post more Dolfrabus...

  • the vey best choir ever....anyone know if they still perform?

  • Yeah the best!

  • I'm blown away! That was FANTASTIC!!!

  • The best choir of all time....You go uncle Mganga....the best musical contribution that ever happened to Kenya
