i think that was #4...?? #5 is FUBAR. scared b/c it has been for mmmm 5 months and can't get things to work out schedule wise for someone to get me to my surgeon. #6 scheduled surgery has been re-scheduled 4 times due to "non-port people" not understanding. what do you use yours for? I'm now on SCIG but with new diagnoses within the past few weeks I'm gonna need ol "third boob" again LOL. good luck!
wow your port looks a LOT like mine! I haven't met many others with ports yet... Thank you making the video! <3 I had to have 5 others before the one I have now since they all clotted off :P They started me on blood thinners to hopefully help prevent another clot.... Is this your 1st port?
I have CIDP, and the port is the way to go! Sad to say mine no longer gets a blood return, and they have flushed it, but still no return, so they go after veins in my arms, they still don't get much blood.. But i had a pic line and hated it, port is the way to go, if you have to have IVIG on a regular basis, and i go every 3 weeks for 5 days straight.
@lilpeach714 im getting a port and im really scared i get IVIG too once a weak i have a hickman in my chest right now and im gonna have my surgery in a weak
this video really helped me I am really having trouble with the decision to get a portacath, i get IVIG every 3 weeks and my veins are going because of previous treatments. I have one good access point left and it it starting to hurt leaving an iv in for two days. I'm still scared about getting one but ive had 2 picc lines in the past so i think i'll be fine. Thanks for the post!
Thanks so much for posting this. I'm getting a portacath in a few weeks and I wanted to know more. I'm looking forward to not having anyone have to stick me six times peripherally! ;-) Hope you're well.
i have a port 2...but mine is getting removed in a few weeks due too the new Sub-Q Ig therapy for people like us with primary immunodeficiency (PI) Sub-Q is the way to go! (THUMBS UP + smiley face) :)
