I totally agree this should have been made. I have a Type 3 Vanagon and I love it. so a new version would also be great to my VW group. I have a 07 Rabbit and I want a Thing and a Carma Ghia.

volkswagen seems to have lost its identity. Vw has a history of making distinctive vehicles, but aside from the new beetle theres nothing really volkswagen about their current line up.

I remember being soo excited about this concept, it just made sense after the success of the Beettle, why not VW? Why did you have to get our hopes up and then crush them...Do you regret not putting this one into production VW?...Well you should.!!

I remember reading an article from a source close to the design team that some people were pushing extremely hard to make this a possibility and it was one final step to being given the green light...but it was decided that it would have...

dudes don't be that sad... remember that something is happening at Chattanooga. Cars and buses specially designed for american market will be developed. They may delayed the launch while the factory was built and asked for some help in the meantime to the "minivan experts" (i don't agree but they say so...)

I SO would have bought this. In had a cult like following in So.Cal even if it was just a prototype. I still think this could be a winner. Come on V-Dub. BMW hit a winner with the MINI. This could be a winner too. Hybrid? COME ON!!!!

Big mistake on the part of VW for not letting this one be produced. Would say it would be even more of a hit than the New Beetle ever was. Adn would have done wonders for the company's image.

If it was produced, it never would have been the hit it could have been with the New Beetle. You have to remember, when the Microbus concept was shown off. The New Beetle was still a huge success. Had there not been a New Beetle, I don't think the Microbus would have had a chance.

This thing would have sold big time and I respectfully suggest that because of the new beetle this thing would have sold bookoos. It would have been the second retro success for VW and who knows what they would have come up with next. They would have had an entire line of retros waiting to be rebirthed into modern cool. Karman Ghia 2012 anyone? And price worries? VW, have you seen the price of a Toyota Sienna lately?
