elvis's "Heartbreak Hotel" got George into guitars and music. Duane eddy's "Raunchy" got George into the band "the quarry men" later known as "The Beatles"
I read years ago that Lee Hazelwood recorded Duane's amp inside an empty grain silo....probably an urban moth but it sounds like that silo would've been a rockin' place to be! One of my faves off this LP....that Gretsch was lovely! As a kid I wondered if those bars were real, but even as pieces of wood it looked impressive! The Guild Duane Eddy guitar was just for gigs, he only used his 55 Gretsch when recording....still collectable of course!
I remember the band of Ken Griffin doing this song. That's dating me. We used to do a funny little dance to this in the 50's. Now I need to find my copy! Great post!

@MegaGARFISH Probably not a myth. Maybe not a silo, but I heard it was some metal gas storage tank.

I have always loved this, and although I like Billy Vaughns version, this one has to be my favorite version. Love all the music of that time!
