If Leslie West or Mountain isn't in the rock-n-roll hall of fame somebody needs to be hung out and dried for the vultures to pick apart, seeing as Leslie could pick apart a guitar.Pun wasn't intended until I realized it .LOL!
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll
Leslie West, Steve Winwood, Carole King--any other examples--starting to cook up something in their late teens, although West wouldn't enter the spotlight for several more years.
Listening to this again, I find it stunning that anyone 19 would care this much for tone. And the tone sends chills down my spine every time I listen to that solo.
Leslie was a rare breed. The best guitar tone man. He belongs in the R&R Hall of Fame for no other reason.
@depper Holy shut depper! This is huge! And so is Leslie. These guys were so freggin great years ahead of their time! In fact I have to compare this band to mid to late 70's punk
The Vagrants were a local Long Island and NYC band in the mid 60's with Leslie West from Mountain. They had an aweson single out which was a cover of Respect by MS. Franklin. Leslie West sung that song awesome. If anyone has the song Respect by The Vagrants please post it. I used to love it and haven't heard it in decades. Sung by Leslie
Rotflmao - Yeah I'm sure to get an email over this one... Leslie must be hiding in the closet!! :) But, we must all start somewhere, and how many of us are lucky enough to get their FIRST big break on the silver screen :)

This movie is more like from '66 or '67 not '64. Thanks for posting though. Poor Leslie, he must have felt so self-conscious in those duds!

Thanks depper! That's awesome! Thinking that the fat boy with his wry grin would become a top act in Woodstock only five years later - Jeez!
