at first glance i thought it was the new stadium with the voice of the yankees, and i was thinking where the hell was i when this happened. Then i realized , o yeah thats the real stadium!
Me and my step bro went 2 see this game. When they were down 9 runs i felt like going (very fukin mad) buh my step bro said lets juz finish watching the game and seeing Posada hiting dat homerun was crazy. It was one of the best moments I ever seen live...
he hasn't been feeling very well, damn he is the voice god. I'm not a big yankee fan myself but his voice and that building are majestic. lot of history.
Bob Sheppard is the voice of God! For the past 56 years, Bob has faithfully announced names both unfamiliar and legendary. He is one of the crown jewels of the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium.
I can't imagine being introduced with a more eloquent voice, supported by a more rousing song, and playing on more hallowed ground. A true pinnacle in American sports.
listen sorry met fan who loses year after year....no need to hate the legendary Mr. Sheppard...He is not only a yankee treasure but a treasure all throughout sports. Announcing since 1951 at the stadium and still going at age 96 !! For Sheppard fans check out my tribute video to Mr sheppard and the late great organist of the yankees eddie layton .
Well at least we spend our money wisely and don't give Roger Clemens 900K per start who is not likely to go more than 5 innings. And we also do not spend our money on a new stadium that is almost identical to the one we have right now. You guys should be more concerned about buliding a team with that money because you guys haven't won a championship in 6 years with the highest payroll in baseball and it ain't looking good for you guys this year either.
Awesome, that's your video? I saw that about a month before pitchers and catchers reported, and it got me so pumped. You did an amazing job. Your voice was nearly spot on (just a touch higher), and the organ playing was just like I've heard all my life since my first game.
1) As mentioned, this was in the left, and the Creatures are in the right.
2) Sheppard's legendary voice, which has been called "The Voice of God" is simply magical, but to Met fans, it doesn't have the same feel. You wouldn't understand.
3) Yankee Stadium is an icon, a legend. We don't need to change a thing. However, in this world of luxurious amenities and spacious concourses, to the average fan and most outsiders, the Stadium is behind the times. It must also be mentioned that these luxuries bring in money for the Big Stein. It is not the ballpark itself that is the reason for the change, but the infrastructure, which is squeezed into a small space.
Everything else is perfect. Since it would take waaay too much money as Steinbrenner would like to pay to rehab the stadium again, he's just building another one across the street, which is a larger lot with more room to fit more stuff. Therefore, the philosophy of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies to the look, which is a mixture of the pre-rennovation stadium, post-rennovation stadium, and the modern stadiums of today.
Ok and you have fun losing a 14 game lead. I would say i was surprised they set that record but i think i am more surprised they didnt own that record they broke.
Good job talking trash then watching your team choke, its fans like you that make it that much funnier. Lets see if the mets can beat their own record next season and lose a 15 game lead lol
how did you enjoy the last part of this season? did you team make you proud? i rather sit in a stupid named seating area then sit in that shit hole built on a swamp shea.
It wasn't really a big name game, and the left field bleachers were very empty that day. Only the leftmost section was filled. However, the right field bleachers, which hold the Bleacher Creatures and are much closer to the field are completely filled to capacity. You can see them on the other side of "the black". It wasn't until this game that I realized the Creatures only inhabited Section 39 in the right field and not... well... the entire bleachers.
I am a die-hard mets fan... but Bob Sheppard is freakin' cool!!! unlike jon sterling....

I really love Yankee Stadium and Bob Sheppard's announcement.
I think Bob Sheppard is very worthy as well as Babe Ruth for Yankee organization.

I hate Bob Shephard's voice. Nice seats in the Bleacher Creatures. That is by far the stupidest name in sports for bleacher seats.

Sheppard's voice is CLASSIC... He announced many Yankee greats from back in the day. The man is a legend.
