Malak as well as Revan were both originally jedi who fell to the sith corruption while allowing their passion to guide them in disobeying a council order. They defended the republic to the end, then fell to the dark side. They were then captured by the jedi council, their memories were wiped, then they were re-trained as jedi.

Star Wars should not be poisoned by Plain White T's. Firstly, there is the entirety of the John Williams scores from all the movies and soundtracks from the games, so an actual Star Wars theme as the music is readily available. Secondly, if you want to use non-Star Wars music, Plain White T's is wildly inappropriate for the space opera that is Star Wars. And if you want to express affinity with the Sith, they would be listening to something far more emotionally intense than that pop-crap.
