  • Mickey this and Panama Red are the icing on my instruction motivation- Buddy played this- blows my mind. Do you ever wear a parachute while playing in case you get too high while ripping those sweet stratospheric sounds- I knew you were good- lately I'm so blown away- You are always my #1 watched subscription!

  • Bobmon!..Hoping to see Buddy Cage this week at the show here in Dallas...If I do ill post some pics!!>..thank you so much for taking the time to post..Mick

  • Go, man ,go. You're too modest.

  • Your just too talented!! Oh my gosh!! :-( wow,,,I hope I can do it!!

  • Nice work!

  • i love your videos. I can't seem to finds the intro for someday soon. If you pulled it please repost. Please. Learning on my fender 2000

  • Steve, thanks for posting. I don't do much studio work at all. I am a professional pilot by day. My channel list some of the artists I've played with over the years. My longest employment term was with an artist named Buck Starr. We spent 50 weeks per year on the road and abroad...that lasted 7 years. As for now, I spend a lot of time teaching...Hopefully there are some new opportunities around the corner...I appreciate your comments, and for tuning in...write anytime...Mickey

  • I have ssen many of your vids and it's pretty obvious you are exceptionally proficient on the instrument. Do you do studio work, play in a band or both? Are there any artists we all know that you have played with or are you well known in Nashville's pedal steel community? Give us a liitle biography. I am a guitar player but am blown away by your ability. Steve

  • Good job Micky. I originally bought a steel because I loved that song so much, and still do. Your doing a great job teaching it, with good technique and tone too, I think. Keep up the good work. I need to set my darn steel up, and take that lesson. Thanks, Marc Trainor.

  • Thanks a bunch

    Kenny

  • Mickey

Great stuff, but could you call out what strings you are picking?

    thx

    bob

  • I can, yes...DO you have any basic theory knowledge?...When im playing only 2 strings, i assumed they would be easy to locate, and I called the intervals in this video. If you think that it would make it easier to do this on every video i would be happy to...Anything you would like me to post?....Id be happy to...thanks for the post...Mickey

  • I can see why many consider the Emmons as the gold standard--great tone!

  • Yeah I agree!...The Mullen is really a great guitar too. I like to switch up regularly. The Emmons is a little stiff, but very true and solid. This one is a 74 Fatback, 8+6, just completely refurbished and reassembled...Plays like Butta!..The last few videos were played through a highly modified Vegas 400, and used to preamp a NV112 with Burr Brown chips..Really nice differences in the high end between the 2!..Mickey

  • Thanks for your reply. I own a Mullen D-10 8+5. I have also owned an Emmons purchased in early 70's--should have never sold that guitar. I have just recently started practicing the steel guitar again--starting from stratch, so your videos are very helpful. When I rated Someday Soon, I accidently hit the 1-star rating, but meant to hit the 5-star, that's why the overall rating was a 3 the other day. I appologize.

  • Man your just so cool on that steel
