  • no continental......only michelin tyres....lol

  • Rock on!

  • At least they stand up, These people don't mess around.

  • WoW the french can be surprisingly violence when they have too ?

  • Secondly, if bossnapping is morally justified, then shouldn't it be a two-way street? If under other economic circumstances, bosses feel workers are being selfish, does that give bosses the right to "kidnap" each and every one of their workers (however costly that may be)?

  • But that's exactly what they do. Keep the jobs simple and menial enough that they can find and train replacements quickly and cheaply. Then pay the workers just enough that they stay but not enough to afford them the time to look for work elsewhere.

  • btw, this is in reply to elgado

  • Another brilliant argument for outsourcing. Let those noble workers blow the factories up so companies can cash in on insurance and move to India!

  • Vive le revolution

  • the french have the right idea, make them bastards pay, the british are to soft

  • this happened with poor Hoover too!

  • Fuck yeah!

  • what has nation to do with this?? the economical crise is global you know...

  • What a shitty boss, what a shitty government all over the world, what a shitty bankers

  • well, that's one way to do it.

  • "La Haine"

    Burn, Burn, Burn

    them all

  • holy shit, this makes the unions in the U.S. look like pansies.

  • well, they are pansies, right?

  • it would seem so

  • I'd rather not poison my kids' minds with a bunch of absurd, intolerant, contradictory nonsense.

    Jesus can go fuck himself.

  • The French working class dont take any shit

    Sous les pavés la plage!

  • France's problems are caused by one factor: Massive illegal aliens the French government is letting into France.

The foreigners must be deported back to their own country. Then, France will start to improve.

Believe it or not the MIL of illegal aliens has a ripple affect right down to the manufacturing sector. Illegals displace Frenchmen who then go elsewhere. Result: Massive jobs losses.

  • i guess illegal aliens caused the credit crunch too and they must be causing global warming too and every other problem in every country they are in all over the world?

  • Yes, I heard that illegals caused the Tsunami that killed thousands in Jakarta and that they also are calling other illegals from out of this world to scare people with their UFO ships. Let's see.. What else can I blame the illegals for?

  • REIGN OF TERROR PART DUEX!!!!!!!!!!!

  • deux

  • that is fucking bad ass.

    power to the fuckin people.

  • the are sacking me and my mates aswell. Let the bastards burn!

  • Let's buy Korean(samsung, LG) product, not SONY.

  • fuck jap companies.....

  • i hope this inspires the Americans after the atrocities committed by AIG

  • They will only react when Mcdonalds are out of chicken mc-nuggets then they will have the appropriate response of calling 911 several times for a refund.

  • It's understandable to be angry, but the company has to cut down the cost of production, and laying off workers is the best solution when there is less demand of the products.

  • That's what we need to do to people in the government and people like the AIG execs in the states

  • Everyone says the French are cowards, but in this case they had 10x more balls than the Americans, who simply accepted their job losses and bail-outs, and marched back to their homes to watch some more Fox News.

  • In the 1970s, CEOs made 30 times as much as the average worker; by 2006, it was 370 times as much. All the while, market forces have steadily reduced costs across the board. Why are chief executives immune?

  • Listen... in America we have a progressive tax and that's how things work out when you have this type of system. Anyway , so you are saying it is perfectly fine that one man on top should take 90% of the profits and the people who are under him take the rest? So you are saying slavery is a better system... Those who already have 10 million on their account will continue to accumulate wealth at super speeds and those who middle class, well too bad , make enough for food, shelter and clothes..

  • You know the whole "only the rich pay taxes" was said by Rush Limbaugh. Obviously, any information coming from Rush Limbaugh is objective and not hard line conservative bullshit. Anyone that actually says "only the rich pay taxes" is either a troll or a hard line conservative. Hopefully it is a troll.

  • Oh, the French...

  • well otherwise people would be dying. look at zimbabwe - they tried to have no taxes and now thousands are dying of cholera because the government couldn't clean the water. history supports my idea - the more the government taxes, the better the nation as a whole is.

  • What exists when an entity backed by coercive and violent force owns 100% of your labor and the products of your labor and decides how to spend it provide services? Throughout history it has been called many things, Slavery, Feudalism, Communism. Sure taxation and regulation is necessary for a stable society, but you lack common sense in your extremism.

  • We all know that Bush was a socialist heavy spending hypocrite. So why are liberals trying to blame Socialist Bush and the "free market" at the same time? Pick one hypocrites.

America has never been close to a being free market, so there's no evidence for the "free market" being the culprit. Wall Street and the economy have for decades been built on and around artificial government obstacles. Therefore Wall Street and the economy have had symptoms and cycles irrelevant to true capitalism.

  • Korean(samsung, LG) is better than SONY.

  • In the 1970s, CEOs made 30 times as much as the average worker; by 2006, it was 370 times as much. All the while, market forces have steadily reduced costs across the board. Why are chief executives immune?

  • Shit we should do that to AIG

  • YES

  • In America you have socialism for the rich, in Europe you have socialism for the people. What's the difference?

  • the people agreed to the latter

  • Socialism is just another form of greed.

  • The explosion of management compensation has been extensively documented. In the 1970s CEOs earned 30 times the wages of the average American worker. By 1993 the CEO compensation had risen to 131 times workers wages; and by 2006 it approached 370 times. DOES THAT LOOK LIKE the MIDDLE CLASS is GETTING RIPPED OFF?? YOU BET YA....

  • pS3 :)

  • They pay more taxes because they make more money that's understandable.. This does not look good in the long run.. The top of the food chain takes majority of the money in the market those in the middle get only enough to live. YOUTUBE "The Coming Collapse of the Middle Class" you'll see how middle class is shrinking and the poor are growing.. INFLATION, STAGNANT PAY and RAISING HOUSING PRICES all contribute to this.. Who can really afford buying a house these days with average income?

  • i totally agree. they shuld tax the rich so much that they are reduced only to the average salary. everyone shuld make the same thing after taxes. then we wuldnt have any more rich people and there wuld be no more poverty

  • are u fucking serious?

    wow...

....just wow...u have to know ur wrong...

    dont feed the troll

  • the only way the economy could heal itself is if everyone is equal and if everyone makes the same thing. thats where all of todays problems stem from - some people make more than others. look at investment bankers. they screwed us all

  • how do you propose to make everyone equal? pay ditch diggers the same wage as a neurosurgeon?

  • noo! pay them different wages just tax them so that their expendable income is the same. that way it gives people motivation to be neurosurgeons and survive that extra education but then the economy wont go to ruins because everyone's equal. i've thought this out and it will work.

  • DONT FEED THE FUCKING TROLL

  • Wow seg0fault are you joking? Here, listen.

Imagine you have a choice between two jobs that both pay $20/hour:

One requires 80 hours a week to do well.

The other requires 40 hours a week to do well.

This is basic logic, basic game theory, basic common sense. Even in every communist nation that ever existed managers, leaders, and officials were paid more than others.

  • The economy is fucked, companys will quit whilst they are ahead. The B=banks will put up house prices and next summer the arse will fall off the economy and shit will hit the fan.

  • I wonder if any of these CEO's feel like "going Galt".

  • Bonuses are suppose to be paid on some type of basis... These guys on the top of the food chain have been paying themselves huge bonuses for years "doing the great work" (based on their great performance) such great performance the company almost went under. Government had to step in and rescue them, these ITI0TS decided hey!! we are doing great jobs so lets reward us with some bonuses.. These have been the same policies for years.. guys on top get everything , middle class just enough to live.

  • its not like that either, the workers feed the hand that feeds them with much better meals

you dont exclusively need the rich class to create jobs, jobs can be created out of thin air and are in times of need, but sure, since they have amassed money they are able to start bigger ventures

I also doubt the rich class pay more taxes than the rest ;o

  • Unfortunately, the CEO is also one of the reasons why they now have no job.

  • Stealing all the money because you approve of the bonuses for yourself and your buddies is better??? I don't see the world prospering if we dont limit payouts to those who decide to pay themselves 1000 times the amount the average worker earns.

  • 00:48 - Chief Executive GEORGE COSTANZA!

THESE PRETZELS ARE MAKING ME THIRSTY!

  • Only in America, where failure is rewarded. No wonder you're so fucked up.

  • SONY is cold blood. Korean(samsung, LG) is better.

  • i <3 commentwarz

  • their contract says the government (taxpayers) has to pay them their bonuses? whatever you say, sucker. lol

  • I know exactly what you're talking about Kingston, and no one was killed in this riot. The **** you're talking about happened last year.

And is Al Jazeera any more slanted than Fox News, CNN, CNBC, etc? It's all corporate B.S. trying to influence people for their own gain. Think for yourself man.

  • WOW the French Have a Back bone! Who Knew?

  • ooo dont hype, they are always protesting.

They succeed in one revolution and they think it'll work for everything else.

  • >_> The French are ALWAYS protesting and rioting, this isn't anything new in France

  • They were paid for the work they did. I dont see what they really have to complain about. Be thankful they had a decent job for all those years. Obviously the company needs to do what it can to be profitable. If shutting down one plant is it...so be it. If it was profitable they likely would not be shutting it down. You cant force them to keep it open and take a loss.

  • in other words, you;re saying once companies receive taxpayer money, there should be no rules on how they spend it. they can put all the money i their pocket if they want because they have the right to do with it as they please.

Yup, Wall Street really loves suckers like you.

  • Kingston556. Strawman...

I'm talking about this specific case. Not something that happened last year. There's a big difference between a riot (for damn good reasons) and mindless murdering and pillaging.

  • Hey guys check these Videos out!!!! They are HILARIOUS!!! LOL Search: Collegeamigos. Sorry i cant put the link on here. Watch and SUBSCRIBE!!!! Youll want to !!! HAHA :)"

  • omg this is insane

  • I'd hardly call egging the CEO and burning two tires real "violence".

YES, it is better to be proactive than be a cog. That factory profited $5 million that year. Those people lost their jobs so some people in China/India can do it (without any environmental considerations at all) for $1 a day.

  • Shut the fuck up you little objectivist twat. The reason everything fucked up in the first place was because people trusted the likes of Friedman, Rand and Smith that the 'market will regulate itself' BULLSHIT.

  • you defended paying AIG bonuses with taxpayer money. that makes you pro-socialism, doesn't it?

do you ever think before you post?

  • ijust saw ginobili in this video

  • French people lose their jobs: Riots, hold the CEO hostage.

Americans lose their jobs: They trudge along home, get a prescription for Prozac, watch American Idol.

  • can somebody explain me what it's all about???

  • Ouch..............

  • you must be really happy to pay AIG their bonuses with your tax dollars. only in America.

AIG loves to take advantage of gullible fools like you.

  • It really is, in a frighteningly faithful way.

  • A bonus is something that is paid out optionally. No company is obligated to pay them. So a contractual bonus is an oxymoron. AIG is blowing smoke up your ass and only a Yank like yourself is dumb enough to fall for it lol.

  • SONY is shit.

    Korean(samsung, LG) is better.

  • you act as tho sony is the only company that is doing bad in this economy, such childish comments you make.

Although I do agree that Samsung is good. :D but you can't deny sony's quality products.

  • Fuck money.

  • The ignorance of the people in here is amazing. Who do you think creates the jobs you have? Who do you think pays 95% of the taxes? Yes, the very same rich people you think you despise. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.....

  • The rich don't create any jobs for me I own my own small business. So where the hell is my bailout??

If you want to be grateful for a company that treats you like a slave then your standards aren't very high.

  • Leave it to France...

  • In America when a company goes broke the failed execs are rewarded with billion dollar bonuses and bailouts and the workers get nothing (except maybe a pink slip).

  • AIG is broke and it can still somehow afford to pay its failed CEOs billion dollar bonuses?? How do you explain that?

  • I understand job cuts are hard to face but if a company is going bankrupt what do you expect? Having a protest isn't going to make more business magically appear. Alot of companies are doomed because they've made poor decisions. Look at American car companies. All the strikes and protests in the world aren't going to save them.

  • HOW DARE THEY FIRE PEOPLE THEY CANT AFFORD TO PAY!!

THEY SHOULD GO INTO DEBT- OR START COUNTERFEITING MONEY TO PAY THEIR WORKERS!

They should keep workers on, at a loss, losing money every day, rather than fire them. They have wittle children at home! boo hoo hooo

    *worlds smallest violin*

  • watch?v=aGYgayYsV6s

This is the best channel on youtube check them out

  • well done workers

  • America = Socialism for the Rich

France = Socialism for the people.

  • America = a place where people who work hard, save money, and spend responsibly can live long and fruitful lives

  • yeah thats why so many people are losing all their homes

  • That falls under the "spending responsibily" category, they undertook lones they were incapable of paying in the long run. That is both the fault of lenders and lendees.

  • That is a correct and intelligent statement. (no sarcasm this time) In your first comment i did not read it correctly it said "people who work hard" i thought it said "people work hard"

Your first comment is correct and I misinterpreted it

My apologies for wasting your time.

  • French.........

  • PAT CONDELL new video, "free speech is sacred", is on Youtube. Down with Islam!

  • good thing europe is doing shit -ier than us lawlz

  • well thank you america

    now europe is in crisis

because ur banks rised the rent

and people couldnt pay it anymore

    god i love america...

  • Seriously, you're blaming us for that^

We are getting it worse than you, and we haven't come close to rioting like that, we havn't started fires or taken our bosses and executives hostage; this is all you.

  • Sony haven't been doing so well in a couple of years.

TV - Samsung dominates them plus the rise of other competitors such as Vizio, LG, Philips

Phones - The rise of Samsung, LG and Apple (US).

Laptop - Lots of new competition.

    Gaming - PS3 failed miserably

Film/Media - doing very well. Basically the only thing. Based in the US.

Music - Record industry as a whole is profiting less and less.

  • Fucking French, always on strike from metros to the frigging bakery. You don't go on strike when a market is in turmoil and people are losing jobs, you hunker down, work hard, and hope wherever you work is still there in the morning.

And to attack someone, anyone, like that and hold them up is just stupid and is more mob violence than proving a point. Qu'est qu'ils ont faisent?

  • If the Americans did half what the French does to the CEO's America wouldn't be in such trouble now.

  • Do you know what the French work hours are? Do you know how useless the French economy is to the rest of the world? No, they aren't greedy like the CEO's that ruin their own companies, but they don't exactly do anything to help, they just sit and bitch how they have to work their 10-3 job 4 days a week.

  • Freaking french people.

I'm glad my parents didnt lose their jobs... in fact, their credit score is in the 900s!! Idk wat that means but i think it's good...

    Oh well, lol.

    Poor people.

    BTW,

My dad said obamas making socialism!!!!

    HE VOTED MCCAIN!

  • They want to live long enough to work some more, but are burning tires. I understand that they are angry, but do they seriously have any more than a Grade 3 education?

  • Shit they're burning pallets.. we're all screwed!

They invent bailouts yet.. ah frig it, we'll send one woot!

  • They should channel their anger towards their crooked and incompetent President Sarkozy. Americans could learn how to riot from the French.

  • You think its just republicans? both republicans and democrats can go fuck themselves. I find it funny YOU are the one calling other people sheep.

  • It's about time we unmasked these so called 'basses' and 'industrialists'.

All bosses are doing is paying themselves massive salaries while they keep us away from knowing how they run the company.

We expect them to run the company not just squeeze it dry and then ask us to pay the price.

  • We must get rid of these fucking bosses making millions on OUR work, we don't need them.

Parachutes och bonuses cost us billions, a bullet only a cent.

  • good on them.

  • 25 million euro profit.......My dog crapped 25 million euros. with that little profit. The company will be shutting its doors anyways.

Be happy Sony has been losing money in production for some time.

  • If you dont get the point of my comment in the first place just dont bother. Its too much for you to understand.

  • raised fist!

  • You mean acts for the common good?

I think what we have seen here is humanist acts, these people are loosing their jobs not because the factory is loosing money but because it doesn't make as much as one where workers have lower pay.

This is the same greed that has caused capitalism to fail worldwide.

  • Your attitude is the same attitude that has caused all the failures of the world to be attributed--falsely--to capitalism.

  • well the ideal would be to put a cap on capitolism (no pun intended) but greed begets greed...so it just aint happening.

  • Then you will have to find out the post I responded to in order to complete puzzle.

  • Maybe or maybe not. I just know that when the time comes, they won´t engage there own people. It´s sad to here that you think your own people would. Best of luck chummy!

  • What does a French look like?

  • That's awesome! Finally, workers are refusing to take responsibility for the financial crisis and putting it where it belongs - at the feet of the greedy bosses. The money is there for banks, why not the working class?

    La lutte continue.

  • Enjoy your muslims and King Sarkozy france.

  • i love the french.

  • At last, an example for the world to follow!

  • the concept of a public company needs revision... . the main problem is that the best interest of the company is usually not aligned with the best interest of individual manager, directors, ceos. just look at how investement bankers on wall street acted in their own short term best interest to get their yearly bonuses, but not in the long term interests of their banks, which are now on the verge of collapse.

  • that is separate from this case though, if you lose your job, that's fine, start your own business if you think you can run things better.

  • Fuck Sony

  • You gotta know . . . the powers that be in our good ol' US of A are shaking in their expensive Italian shoes that workers here might be thinking in this direction.

Oh yeah, they're not too scared. The well indoctrinated armed forces of the US of A are ready to supress any possible uprising. Poor France, they just didn't plan ahead.

  • No US soldier will fire a single weapon against another US citizen, it goes against their sworn oath.

  • the us military has wiped out the native population of the country well into the last century, it has killed labor activists and union organizers opposing the same sort of injustices, it has nuked the southwest for decades.

when the government is willing to irradiate the lands and its' people, it will probably have no moral qualms against 'home-grown terrorism and insurrection'.

  • lol, all it takes is the order dude

  • they know we will shoot back :) yes i AM from texas...why do you ask?

  • I applaud the works!!!

Laying off hardworking folks who've spend their lives working for these fat pigs, to increase the profit margin for the rich share holders and calling it restructuring, BS.

    GO FRENCH!!!

  • Who will invest in France again?

  • mercedescl: .. let me assure you that investors are *everywhere* during boom times and absolutely *nowhere* (on earth) during a bust (due mostly to credit markets) .. so yes .. as things get better there will be many who will invest in France again.

  • Nice slave mentality you've got there, mercedesci. Licked any corporate boots lately?

    Alez les travailleurs francais!!!

  • Seriously, they don't force you to work there, workers shouldn't force employers to hire you either. The relationship should be mutually willing, not a force marriage.

  • You think that bosses should be able to fire any worker on a whim?

  • Why not? The workers can walk out from their jobs any time they want, right?

  • and what, become drugged-up, homeless and starve to death?

    no.

we don't need bosses, they need us.

i doubt you're a CEO or an owner of the means of production, and yet you have an interest in maintaining wage slavery.

the anger of the working class is right below the surface- this summer will be the summer of rage.

  • If employers need you, they will hire you. If you have to take drugs, become homless and starve to death, that's not the responsibility of any individual but yourself.

You can negotiate all you can, that's your legal rights, but to engage in violence to ask for someone to keep your jobs, that's a new low.

Lol. I am a blood-sucking-evil-short-term stock trader. It's the government responsibility to keep people from poverty, not any individuals or individual companies.

  • you're half right. narrowing this to a matter of legality omits a deeper question of the irresponsible profit motive of capitalism: it's an affront to democratic limits.

im not talking about personal accountability, what matters is the condition that breeds crime and social pathology. societal-level poverty, inequality does not simply happen- the degree to which it arises is wholly dependent on systems of power and abuse excluding the people from the social product, or political participation.

  • Don't play good vs evil scenario. The union is excising violence against another company employees. The CEO and managaements make the decisions, but if the board of directors and the shareholders don't like their decisions, they will be out of their jobs sooner than the union members.

Reality is that everyone looks at their bottomline, so as the workers, if you don't like your profit margins, you can leave anytime you want.

  • marry me!

  • i have no illusions about the function of corporations- their primary purpose is to maximize capital, accumulate profit and benefit share-holders.

i don't also expect a commitment to social responsibility to come to dominate the way the work.

  • Then why the "H" companies have to hire workers they no longer want?

  • This is the problem. We lost expectations. WE have given up. NOT ME. I can still fight.

WE are the owners and only hire the profits to them because we can't run the business and do the work at the same time.

We should be firing them and not them us.

  • At this point a thumbs-up wouldn't be noticeable, but you're completely right. An employer-employee relationship should be one for mutual benefit, and of mutual consent.

  • French speaking Arab actors? what are you, crazy?

  • Yeah just like Will Smith doesnt look American. I think he is African ...

  • i admire the french worker's sense for justice and democracy (no irony). at least they fight for their rights ...

  • Oh hell yes, this is cool!

We should definitely do this in the USA.

  • welcome to the corporate world. at the same time ppl defend capitalism and revolt against it.
