@owlwink no brother, it's his name, well more like its nickname name, dunno actually how to put this, but, maybe he's real nambe is Alberto or Roberto, so, his nickname Beto, is like saying Jess instead of Jessica, but some people do use Jess as name.
A rompler is like a synth with the sounds already on it (on ROM memory which is why it is called a ROMpler), usually consisting of sounds trying to emulate 'real' instruments which you can tweak only a bit. ROMplers often have quite a few sounds on them and drum beats as well.
In this video the keyboard hes using with his left hand, the micro x, is a rompler whereas the R3 hes using with his right hand is a Virtual Analog.
Depends if you want a ROMpler or a VA. On the microkorg its all about making your own sounds and playing with them but the micro - x you already got your sounds and drum beats on it.
tio eres buenisimo!! me encanta como has tocado en este video, ademas cuando simulas una guitarra de jazz, se asemeja a ronny jordan, un saludo desde España y sigue asi.
I have to tell you that I have (almost) all the stuff you've got, but somehow I can't get the sound of of it that you do! My compliments! btw. Are you portuguese/brazillian? My wife is portuguese so the name Beto sound to me in that direction. :-)
I'm planning on getting the Micro X or the Karma. Do you know if the sounds (patches/fx whatever) on both are basically the same? Cos that's all I'm really interested in... not the other bells n whistles like fullsize board, expandability etc. Cheers!
As far as i know, Karma and Micro X are nothing alike. Micro X is basically a small virtual analog (VA) whilest the Karma is more of a rompler/sampler thingie with built in Karma (read up on Karma at karma-lab dot com)
Micro-x is not the VA synth, you are thinking of the Korg micro. The micro-X has the HI synth engine. So basically you could say it's the same as the Karma, without the karma functionality.
All in all though, a nice way to get the triton sound out of a small package.
wassup need an emCee? send a couple o samples to get on some tracks lets get some music goin G.
