  • Yes, The greatest female vocalist who's ever lived. It has to be Barbra.

  • she is just BEAUTIFUL. and so is her voice!

  • She's gorgeous Still #1 love Love her

  • love babes

  • She was and is uniquely gorgeous, and that voice, nothing compared in her prime..

  • her looks , her voice all worked, she had everything one could have ever wished for,she could sell a song like no other. This song from the third album was a real treat to see her sing several years after the third album was released. To me personally her 60's years where the very best..She will always remain in my her she changed my life as a kid while other my age at the time were playing the beatles i was playing my Barbra albums

  • She was no great beauty but she knew how to work with what she had. Then she starts singing and you forget all about the looks : )

  • Awesome performance....this was setting new standards....same as 'My name is Barbra'....a real story in her delivery, so hypnotic...you believe her, every word......beautiful performance....

  • I happen to love her distinctive large nose the way I love Angelina Jolie's large lips. These features make these women look unique.

  • the earrings are perrfect

  • I love the girl...But those earings- too much of a distraction

  • So beautiful! The voice, The face, The long features! I love me some Babs.

  • What a unique interpretation of this standard; first time hearing it, and it won't be my last :) - simply beautiful!!

VERY few voices sound as distinctive; Etta Fitzgerald, Maria Callas, Julie Andrews, Dame Joan Sutherland, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Donna Summer, Annie Lennox, and Mariah Carey also have lovely, distinctive voices. Hear them on the radio; you'd immediately know who is singing....No AutoTune or throbbing beats which can lead to a headache needed!

  • @jasmineskydancer and WHITNEY HOUSTON THE QUEEN

  • @rimbaud15 True, but for some reason Whitney's live performances paled versus her 1 take recordings, which she was indeed known for. The ladies I mentioned tended to sound as "real" during their live performances as the recordings they made (or a slightly lower key). Sadly, Whitney Houston has now left us too soon; my prayers for all her family members and friends who truly loved and knew her.

  • @jasmineskydancer Totally! Though I'd like to add Alison Krauss, Brandi Carlile, Sumi Jo, Shelby Lynne, Ofra Haza, Janis Joplin, Adele to that list. And I am sure there are more. No such thing as "THE" greatest singer. There are many and all of them need only their voice to win one over.

  • @reddragonready Ahh, Janis - a true rock vocalist; to have witnessed Tina and Janis on stage would have been amazing. Sadly, it was not to be. Adele has 2 albums under her belt and vocal surgery already; if she has indeed ceased smoking and works on maintaining the lovely voice she has, I'll definitely keep her in mind ;)!

  • Gorgeous <3

I love her, she's my idol. I hope one day that I'll be HALF as good as she was. <3

  • Vocal perfection! If only life could be this good.

  • I am only 16 years old, and i was sadly not around when she was in her prime. But i still love her with ALL my heart. She is without a doubt my hero. The fact that she chose to be different and not conform to please the world byt getting a nose job. And everytime she sings, my heart stops. She is erfect, and she glows in this video like no one else <3 I LOOOVE Babs <3

  • I love the hair

  • I still don't understand how in the HELL she was considered ugly. At all. Because, she's stunning, physically and vocally

  • when she opens her eyes... her whole face it's so different... what a beauty! Yes, I said it best: beauty: beautiful sound, performance, feelings, music, and figure... beautiful BARBRA

  • OMG Barbra was a FOX. Beautiful voice tho :)

  • Her expressions are the part that gets me. I love them

  • Divine vocal instrument, she's just amazing. As for her looks (whatever that has to do with her talent) I've always thought she was sophisticated and beautiful. As a Black woman, I also respect her for not "fixing" her nose. Beauty, just the way God made it!

  • In the days when singers would interpret a song. She's like buttah!

  • WITH LOVE FOR OUR LOVE FROM RUSSIA

  • There's not much to say. She is perfection. I remember her t.v. special. I must have been 10 or so. My first grown-up album, "Color Me Barbra!". See ya later, Beatles!

  • I am sick of the question, pretty or not???NO MORE, is she shagalishous most defiantly!!!

  • SHE SURE WAS INTERESTING TO LOOK AT BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY GREAT TO LISTEN TO..

  • i first heard the version by jimmie lunceford and i liked it but she once again makes it the definitive version

  • Barbra was never "pretty" in a conventional sense -- but she was knockout GORGEOUS, far beyond mere prettiness. Her "uneven" features added incredible character to an otherwise ordinary face. . . and enhanced the impact of her EXTRAordinary voice.

  • she was beautiful !! i think that she has a special kind of beauty that makes her very unique !!

  • I can't stop watching her sing. It's mesmerizing

  • That was beautiful

  • I absolutely LOVE her voice.

  • No one else can serve up a ballad like Barbra. The tonal quality of her voice, the emotional sincerity and depth, control, class, and ability to transmit affect, imagination, love and yearning. Thank you God for creating and sending Barbra.

  • @willec49 : Very true!

  • I'm amazed at all the comments. I was in high school when she began her career. I rebelled against societies standards so I could recognise her extraordinary features. BUT back then most people considered her ugly!!! So all your comments validate my youthful vision. Thank you.

  • @globalman I thought she was gorgeous when she started her career and so did the public.

  • @globalman Oh well, she's no Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and the like in terms of beauty but who cares? There is something I don't understand: She's a singer, why do we even mention her "ugliness" in the first place? And why do women always get recognition on whether they're "attractive", "sexy" etc solely? This is such a sexist world.

  • @kikujirofromkyoto You are right. It is the superficial side of society. Also many people are jealous so they need to find some way to put a person down to make themselves feel better. Barbara was a newcomer but a brilliant talent and genius in front of the camera. Natural instincts. I thought she had a beauty that was not the so called "normal standards". And we live in a sexist and ageist world. We live longer and the contempt for age was never greater. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • @globalman She is and has always been my salvation. When life gets too complicated, I find her music and she answers my prayers. Once her music game me the will to go on living. Her songs explain things to me that I am feeling.

  • @globalman I don't get it. I've always thought she was exceptionally beautiful. And still so in her later years. She's got some of the nicest skin in Hollywood.

  • With Barbra, it always comes back to "that voice."

  • what movie is this from!!!! Barbra looks gorgeous, go Barbra!!!!!

  • @dreamingstar4022 This is from Barbra's television special entitled, "Color Me Barbra" early in her career.

  • Nice to hear the prologue of this song which is usually omitted.

  • ALL of them, ALL ALL of them wanted to have Barbra's voice! And I mean ALL of them - pop singers, rock singers, classical singers... you see no1 opera stars and they keep singing her songs - in their mind it is all about HER voice whether they admit it or not.

  • un lujo para el alma y el oído un modo de vengarse del olvido....

: a luxury for the soul and the ear, a way to get back from oblivion... (sorry mi english is not so good )

  • @kaeliv10 You said it very eloquently!

  • God, she is beautiful. Melts my heart.

  • Always my favourite since' Funny Girl' and her new album is superb

  • Beutiful song beutiful Lady

  • She's very lovely and sexy...

  • YES!! the GREAT STAR EVER #1 Love Love LOVE HER!!! this is truly one of my favorite singers EVER Her voice is SUPER!!!

  • Barbra is a classic. No imitations.

  • This is one of my favorites videos. She looks so beautiful and her performance is unique. She will always be an icon!

  • the sheer beauty ,purity and exaltation of her voice could melt chocolate and stone , and of course me

  • I LOVE this arrangement!

  • oooooo ooooo oooo oooo ooo oooooh

  • She made me true... :) Amazing woman!

  • Is this amount of talent even human??? Wow!

  • she's absolutely gorgeous guys. when i was younger i used to ask my mom "can you make me look like barbra?" whenever my mom did my makeup before a show i was in. she's stunningly beautiful and unique. i'm really jealous of her beauty, actually. but i'm sure everyone is. :)

  • the Very Best Singer !! #1

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! I love her makeup, which frames those amazing eyes, her hair, jewelry and dress. The embodiment of style! Her lips are the Julia Roberts of yesteryear that everyone wants to copy only better. What a phenomenal talent!

  • She has a beauty which transcends the perception of what beauty is.Look at her now, almost 69 & STILL her beauty shines through!

  • maybe I'm crazy, but I always thought she was beautiful.

  • Simply perfection in every sense

  • Why are people commenting so much on her looks? I mean, it is true that she hasn't got the fine features of Grace Kelly or Ava Gardener's . . .Ava Gardenerishness (You can't describe that really.) but Barbara Streisand certainly isn't unattractive. And, unlike any of the 'great beauties' people keep mentioning - Barbara didn't need to be beautiful in order to stand out frok others in her field. Her supreme talent already did that for her.

  • @doctorwhofangirl22 ....most of these comments are saying she IS Beautiful, because she is. I dont think its just her talent, I think shes gorgeous & I think its the whole package. Personally I think Babs is waaayyy prettier than Ava Gardner.

  • BROOKLYN BABY!

  • the lyrics combined with her voice is an udder tear-jerker. She's just... amazing...

  • HELLO GORGEOUS! She looks amazing in that dress! The hair, the makeup! Wow!

  • i think she's a very pretty girl and she has amazing voice! i

  • Oh my...just perfection. No one feels a song like her....you can really see how much she loves to sing....what a blessing.

  • Oh my god

  • Barbra Streisand...is so amazing. She is one of a kind. Incomparable. Amazing. BEAUTIFUL

  • Her achievement is all the more remarkable, as she is the only artist who was not a part of the rock and roll genre

  • The Best Songstress on the PLanet!!!!

  • I think she is was really pretty when she was younger an she hasn't really changed that much an the thing someone said about her body being a mess or somethin she has a good figure an her voice is amazing an looks don't count for anything!!!

  • @eiad1981 Commenting on Streisand's appearance makes no sense. This isn't the Miss USA pageant. Making nasty comments based on her looks is kind of like saying:

"Winston Churchill may have rallied the English people against Hitler during World War II, but I don't like Churchill because he didn't look like Cary Grant or Clark Gable."

    It's silly.

  • She is one of the worlds great beauties. I remember seeing her as a child in one of her movies and thinking how absolutely beautiful she was. When I got older and heard how people thought she should change her knows, I couldn't understand that at all. People become programmed by the dominant cultures standards and can't see anything else. Such a shame to be blind to honest to goodness beauty. I'm so glad I first saw her as a child and knew she was beautiful before the programming began.

  • She is so in tins song.....amazing!

  • She is so beautiful...and her voice....geez

  • anyone know where I can get earings like that?

  • Why did I have to miss the sixties? Can someone please explain to me why I have to live at the same time as Flo-Rida? Also, I appreciate that she didn't dye her hair blonde back then. It's so gorgeous. Just like the rest of her.

  • These songs are so wonderful and Barbra knows how to deliever them all.

  • Look at her eyes, shes gorgeous!

  • It's a beautiful song, and It's the best singer for me. I love Barbra Streisand.....

  • any way i love barbrA is AWESOM to the max

  • My favorite song in the 40's. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A beautiful lady to my eyes.

  • Amazing. Barbra is simply divine. This is the best rendition of this song i've ever heard. I'll never listen to another because this is the best :)

  • omg.. I adore her..!!!!

  • She really pulls every nuance out of this song. Much better than the harry connick version, even though he's really cute

  • @billyboylb Barbra pulls the nuance out of all her songs because along with unparalleled vocal ability she intellectualizes her singing. The end result is the phenomenon known as Barbra Streisand.

  • I love her,and she really is beautiful here anyone that says elsewise is jealous

  • There are no limits to her voice

  • She sings it like no one else can.

  • She looks completely beautiful!!!!!!! tha thing is people often say she's unattractive I just think she's different looking that's all cuz in this video she looks stunning

  • I agree. People always associate beauty with looking like a Wasp. Yeah, Lana Turner was pretty, but Sophia Loren, Barbra Streisand, and Diana Ross are beautiful. IMO

  • I agree. Uniqueness is Beautiful.

  • @cinemaman3105 sophia loren was a goddess.

  • @dgray92237 ok what about Rita Hayworth?? If I could have one wish in my life it would not be to win a million dollars...rather id have a time machine and go back to the 1930-1940's when Rita was with out question the most sexiest, most gorgeous woman walking this planet... I also don't get why people say Streisand is ulgy! its just her nose that doesn't look right. her eyes can melt steel..and her face is pretty...just not her nose....her voice makes up for that one simple flaw.

  • @cinemaman3105 Lana Turner was hardly the prototype for the WASP. And she (in my view) was certainly no beauty. Barbra is beautiful no question but why you must negate White Anglo-Saxon Protestant legitimate good looks to express it is beyond me. Look at Candice Bergen in her twenties and thirties and we'll talk WASP beauty at its quintessential best. "IMO"

  • @Shubael1809 Oh come on ! Now were are going to tell Barbra was beautiful, don't make laugh. Barbra was an almost dreadful, a very fine vocalist in the '60s and '70s (not since the early '80s because she lost her voice my middle '80s) and charisma and talent as a comediant ok, but beautiful ?? Please don't be ridiculuos.

Beautiful women , great beauty are Rita Hayworth, Sara Montiel, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Kim Novak, each one of them

  • @vergoti20 What you've written in response to me brings to mind the phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I don't think one of the women you've mentioned is exceptional in any way. I don't like predictable beauty. You do. So what? To my eye Streisand was a chameleon. Sir Cecil Beaton was quoted as saying when he worked on her costumes for On a Clear Day "from certain angles she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen". I'll defer to HIS judgment not yours thanks.

  • @vergoti20

"Beautiful women , great beauty are Rita Hayworth, Sara Montiel, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Kim Novak"

Snore and bore. When I look at them, they put me to sleep with their predictable faces.

  • @illinoisjoy :You can be indifferent in front such beauties like Garbo, Hayworth, Monroe or Novak and you are you like a monkey chuck, because Barbra face was a young monkey in the '60s and now she looks like and old monkey chuck and her body was always a disaster

  • @vergoti20

I don't need permission to be "indifferent" about the so-called beauties you've listed, I already was and will remain indifferent long after you get tired of trying to tear down a world wide icon who has no clue who you are nor would she care if she knew. If you aren't a fan go look up some videos of the women you've listed and enjoy yourself. You won't have to worry about me following you there. As I said before; snore and bore.

    And I'm done.

  • @cinemaman3105 Loren is not beautiful, she was quite ugly and today she looks like an old african man in drags,

  • @vergoti20 solo un opinione vergoti .. solo un opinione. Non è guisto giudice la preferenza dell altra gentei. Anche.. vostre parole scritto qui sono scortesi. Perchè?

  • @bellahelly Streisand was her most stunningly beautiful from about this time through 1970 when she filmed On A Clear Day. As Ryan O'Neal said "from some angles Barbra's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. From others she's the homeliest". She's a cameleon in so many ways.

  • @bellahelly Her skin has always been perfection...Bravo Barbra for staying away from tatoos and piercings;

Never changed what God gave her, never followed the pack, always femininine. Gorgeous voice and what set her apart is that she never imitates.

  • @DabneyFountain Hmm, last time I checked, earrings were piercings....just saying.

  • @bellahelly I have felt the same since the 1960's. Most people just have a codified concept of what 'attractive' is supposed to look like. My view is that both Streisand and Kidman are beautiful.

  • @bellahelly She is fascinating to look at. I guess seeing her the first time "Beautiful" isn't the first word to come to mind but the first video I saw of her I just couldn't stop looking at her features.

  • @bellahelly she is beautiful! shes the meaning of the phrase: jewish princess! :D

  • Muito lindo ! Parabéns !

  • Wish Marilyn Monroe could have sung this song.

  • A truly spectacular talent.

  • The one, the only. Barbra. Nice.

  • Thanks! But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post "Where am I going?" :)

  • Beautiful. For years i've been trying to find this song! She sounds amazing and her expressions makes it so much more captivating to watch. Loove it!!!!

  • Brilliant. Thanks for the great memories.

  • Love that hairstyle!!

  • 2:33-2:40 = delish.

  • STUNNING!

  • yes, it's WOW...

  • WOW.

  • She's so gorgeous there!

  • I sit and reminisce listening to this

  • Beautiful. Her, her voice...amazing. Best version of the song I've heard.
