  • this aria is better without the inserted high C#. The thrown in C# is showy and has no connection with the aria.

  • OK... For those listening for a high C, you're listening to the wrong aria. Both JDF and Pav sing the 9 high C's in the Act I cabaletta Pour mon ame. This is the Act II aria. Neither JDF nor Pav sings a high C in this aria. Ever. Both Pav and JDF have been known to INTERPOLATE a brief high C# near the end of this aria, however (Donizetti didn't write it that way). Both JDF and Pav are great in this role (it's TONIO, FYI, not MARIO), and it's silly to try to choose one over the other.

  • I have one question for all of You, you listen to the aria or to the High C?, why dont you enjoy "ïl tutto", the beauty of the singing?....instead of a misery detail?...

  • yes, where is the high "C"?!!!!i like Pavarotti, but JDF as Mario is perfect!!!!and there are all the high "C"!!!!!!

  • wher is the high "C"??
