I like guy piccioto's singing on studio versions of fugazi songs, but his singing at live shows bothers me. It seems like he's trying too hard. And I know that he would say that he's just being himself and doing what the music makes him feel like doing, but some of that stuff is just excessive. Falling all over the floor...just sing the song please.
@gravityass to me there's nothing more important at a live show than seeing the band care about what they're doing and see that they are preforming. If I want to hear the music I'll listen to the CD, if I want to see a real show, I'll go to a concert. To me that's what's missing from modern shit and why bands like this were so cool.
@gravityass apparently you've never seen dead boys frontman iggy pop jim morrison and the list goes on.....quite normal doing wierd shit like this on stage when you're a showman !
it looks like a high school talent show because it's a community college. the other band on the bill that night was garage rockers the cynics. pretty rad show.
I remember one of the early old 9:30 Fugazi shows, I was stage right and Charlie was right next to me. He started dancing and I was like "um, those are testicles flapping around and almost hitting me in the face, not cool" lol
I don't remember his name, he was always at the shows back in the mid 80's. There's a picture of him in the State of the Union Compilation where they have picks of many different people and bands.
'this is a new song that we wrote.its about that subject, aids.a disease we''ll be faced with if we dont get our shit together and stop treating it like leper conolie bullshit''.
great stuff. just misheard his quote at the start as "leprachauny bullshit". Think i will use that as a future song title

Don't know if you ever saw them live but I can tell you his "antics" were completely in tune with the energy going on at the show itself.

you're right! I still have his sans underwear look engrained in my head 20 years later. It was worth it though.
