  • daggerfall....

skyrim is AWESOME but daggerfall......had the atmosphere only 90's games had

they striked people's fancy the most

i loved when i was standing on my ship looking on that ugly and flat sun, i love this game :D

  • i loved getting scared the shit out off in this game (i remember looking at the back of my morrowind case and it said 'we appologise for the randomness of daggerfall'.....nuff sed)

  • hey if anyone knows the notes on flute for the solo in the middle, i would greatly appreciate it.

  • is there anyway i could get the daggerfall music tracks in oblivion?

  • There's nothing like waking up to the text "You once again dream of the moon", finding that you've been stuck into werewolf mode, then fend off guards until you escape the town, and then wander around the dark, rainy countryside until you change back.

  • I made these audio files. It's a shame that the uploader didn't ask permission first. But oh well, nice to see it on YouTube.

  • Gorgeous.

  • What sound card do you need to play the music in this format? This music plays but it sounds quite MIDI can somebody help

  • @BenthePCnerd Requires a sound blaster card, or an emulator for one on DosBox.

  • This music was at night, when you couldnt see 20ft in front of you, fuckin scary.

  • TES 5 is taking place in Skyrim. If you don't like the epic music, you'll be disappointed. They added chanting and even louder drums. Bethesda is able to talk a good game these days, but their actual products are love-hate works these days. For any high point there will be an annoying low point to match. But at least with the PC modders can fix most things.

  • @Sturdge666 Ha! To me Daggerfall music is more of fairy tale, folk lore. Not the epic hollywood bloated style Jeremey Soule brought to Oblivion. I don't want everything to be EPIC dammit, there is no mystery.

  • Daggerfall and Ultima Online.

A recipe for old school RPG goodness.

  • @Hagermanly Nah man, Ultima 7 and Ultima Underworld series

  • The Elder Scrolls series have some of the best music in a RPG ever:misterious, sweet, epic, beautiful. It's gust awsome

  • The elder scrolls moved from creepy scenarios filled with darkness to dream scenarios with joy

  • Not enough ambient music like this in games, paints a million more pixels then any state of art the graphics could ever dream

  • If the next game indeed takes place in Skyrim, this track should be in it, Skyrim is indeed a dark place with blizzards. Hell, a lot of Daggerfall tracks should be in, as they fit perfectly with snowy nights and winter.

  • @Joseph1594

Nope, that would be Summerset Isle where TES 5 is going to be.

  • @LamentOfInnocence1

I don't think I have seen any official sources confirming the region, and I check up on Elder Scrolls news pretty frequently. Skyrim is one of the most rumored regarding Elder Scrolls V (Summerset Isles is pretty popular among rumors too). I would be happy to see an official source confirming TES V being set in Summerset Isle though.

  • @Joseph1594

It's a shame they don't reveal it any further. I read an interview and the guy said they wanted to show a COMPLETE game, so despite it being devolved for two years, they have shown nothing. ITS PAINFUL.

  • Simply put, my favourite winter nighttime song in the game. The subtle wind help a lot build the atmosphere. Thank you for uploading the soundtrack. :)

  • Daggerfall is a much more immersive game to me than Morrowind or Oblivion. I think mainly due to music like this. Even though the world was generic, it just felt more immersive when i played.

  • @p1zzaman I tink music playes a great role in immersion.Oh,and i can excuse a generic world as long as it is various

  • @p1zzaman Agreed.

  • @p1zzaman An interesting thought, and one I generally would have to agree with. I think another one of the reasons is that with the much simpler graphics and design of the time, we got to use our imagination more while we played to construct the game world in our head.

Nowadays, everything (Morrowind and Oblivion included) is so much more fleshed out, detailed and polished.

  • @Davetacular45 Indeed, but I think it's for the better, games have a lot of potential and they should be more socially open, because we can't hide in games forever. It should be something we're proud of, because it a young media, and we are it's pioneers in it's early stages :)
