i think the reason why i liked dennise so much back then was because we have teh same personality...besides his crazy style we both are laid back down to earth people we not tryna show off for people or nuttin
i did not see his jersey being retired in Chicago video but i bet Rodam really cried. Really what would the 2nd 3 peat bulls do without Rodam?
Hey is it just me but i have a game vs heat and Rodam starts his little enticks in game and Jordan starts chewing his at this ultra pace so fast like it freaking him Jordan out like saying in his head why Rodam need to do this childish behavour. It funny.
Would love to meet Dennis one day. Grew up watching him, Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc, Longley, Harper and Kerr on the Bulls. His personality off court is certainly very different than how he is portrayed by the media and his on-court antics. He really does seem like a down to earth kind of guy.
Dennis rodman and Michael Jordan. Respectively Have the endurance And self Motivation to Do Good on the court. And For Someone Like the lakers to just completely have a negative Influence on the game Is absolutely Ridiculous.:)
rodman liked playing with jordan more then kobe..he even said he left the lakers because kobe was a drama queen fueding with shaq while jordan and pippen got along and jordan led his team while kobe treats his teammate like shit..he even elbow the serbian kid when he wa slaughing douche bag
Rodman was a great rebounder, defender, and helped out the teams he was on. But he was also a flake and teams finally gave up on him even though he still had the ability to play.
I really don't care about teams like the lakers and bucks and magic who have nothing but hatred for basketball and unsportsmanlike conduct. It's absolutely ridiculous!:(
It's definitely a yes to compliment someone like rodman. He truly is a very talented individual with not only movies but basketball and all terrain sports. I bet you didn't know that Dennis rodman has done skydiving and snorkling in response to his retirement.:)
As much as i hate to say it..I cant wait till Kobe retires..that way all you fags that constantly hate on him for no reason, bring his name up outta nowhere tryna make it seem like he's inferior to Mj when in fact he's just as good if not superior(proven by yall constantly bringing up his name in the same breath as jordan) will finally see how F'd up the League will potentially become when a player of kobe's caliber and skill(like Mj's) may not be seen for a long time! SMH
@lorenllbj88 Personally, I really don't see why people even feel the need to put Kobe over MJ. They're both great. I think MJ was better not only as a player but the whole package. He was a superstar. He was and still is larger than life. His marketing campaign is insane and his jumpman logo is everywhere. Kobe to me just seems like a great player but not the phenomenon Jordan was. I also prefer to think of them as their own entity as in jordan's not better than bird but they're both Legends.
@Summerslam96 to both are great.....prolly eually talented...but when kobe gets his SIXTH ring....im going to call him the greatest player to ever play the game for all his CRAZY accomplishments

@thewolfmanchu me get educated?AHAHAH....jordan dont OWN kobe.....i can understand people sayin ''nobody can touch jordan" FIGURATIVELY speakin.....but honestly.......magic johnshon, isiah thomas, kareem abdul, wilt, bill and DEFINETLY kobe touches jordan alot! i suggest you get educated!
@razzle9438 Isiah? come on now. It was joe dumars that was the key offensively for the Pistons during the late 80's and 1990. You mention Isiah but you don't mention Bird? come on now.
The Bulls, those 3 Seasons, had the Best Scorer, player overall (Jordan), Best man to man Defender (Pippen) and the Best Rebounder (Rodman)...oh and the best Coach Jackson Recipe for Legendary Teams
I think MJ meant Dennis was shy away from the court and I believe this to be true. Also, well put Dennis.......the money coming first has ruined the league. Its watered down and too commercial now. Its a shame, every one gives David Stern props. I don't, He's a major reason the league is too commercial now. Oh yea n everyone's game is similar now from Kobe to Lebron and even big men like Bosh. Of all today's stars Wade is the only different type of player with genuine luv fo da game.
@CrazyCubsFan10 I think Pippen really wanted to win a 'ship while Jordan was gone. Man, that would've changed everything. Maybe Jordan wouldn't have even come back.
5:27 it's soooo true Dennis. And MJ "could be dangerous." Are u serious MJ?? Bahaha.. The question wasn't really who was gonna win it all.. but more like "Who will go against the Bulls in the finals?".. Haha.. Shit... you better thumbs this up. lol..
@koldmorth ron is like rodman on calm down pills... but yea he is probally the only guy in the nba like him. garnett tries to be but push come to shove and KG goes to hide behind some one or cries to the ref

he gave a blueprint for people to follow to be contribute something . weather it be at work , family, whatever it is....his attitude was unique..
I agree the NBA today just isnt the same. Its just not as raw and pure as it used to be, all the glitz and money has diluted it. When Jordan left the game for good after the Wizards, that to me was like the beginning of the end of basketball. Thankfully people like Lebron and Wade came in, but still...I miss the old days of the NBA on NBC..and everybody had on Chicago Bulls clothes...remember those days? rodman talking at 5:17 sums up today's NBA perfectly. Back when Michael Scottie and Dennis were in the league, players got paid based on performance. Today players get paid on potential. It creates the poor product that is the NBA today.
so true when I happen to catch a game these days the players look like hoddlum boys. The old guard were MEN and far superior. Doc rivers, john stockton, sean elliot and epecially Detlef Schrempf.
Man, i used to think something of this guy but after watching HIM oN VH! celebrity rehab, i lost all the respect for him. He is the definition of an A-hole. You guys should watch him and i will tell you that y'all will not like him.
I'm actually surprised at how down-to-earth Rodman sounds like in this interview.
I liked his eccentric looks and his attitude and what he says in this interview is true and even more basketball players nowadays are all about the money they get. Which is sad. Not that they should be playing for free, but what they get is excessive.
@XBlackRose023X I believe that it depends on the perspective that you name then as the best trio ever. All the players that you named are legends and they were the best players of those great dynasties. Greetings!
coffee, yeah whatever....Jordan woud never accept losing and not giving his all for another championship, no matter what his love for the game is like. The man is a fierce competitor, and you are a moron.
for the ppl who say jordan wouldve won those 2 yrs he retired this interview shows that wouldn't have happened. he lost his love of the game. just that alone would have prevented them from winning. i think those 2 yrs gave him perspective and is one of the most important factors 2 him winning the next 3
What you say make sense. But you don't know and can't say that he wouldn't have won. MJ wanted to retire since Barcelona Olympics. So he had already lost the desire. The only reason that made him stay one more season is that he wanted to achieve a three peat. And he won! If MJ wouldn't have retired it would have meant that he had a good reason to stay so it's in ultra high probability that he would have won.
@coffee468 I think he was just tired of the publicity. Kobe has it easy. Jordan's life was like a life of Michael Jackson's. People just went crazy when he showed up so he couldn't do regular things at all. There is a great article about the last season with the Bulls in SI, it's crazy what people would do just to get a glimpse of Jordan. Plus he had achieved everything in has career. What's the motivation if you are so much better than everyone else?
@75samuel75 Yup. I had that issue, and that article is also online through SI's archive.
The main jist was during the season and locker room, it was the Emperor's domain. One story was he turned down everybody down that waned to see him, including a Congressman, but if you're meek enough, like a marathon winner from a poor country, you would get the nod.
Ichiro Suzuki as a rookie when coming to the US from Japan, his wish was to meet MJ which he did.
@coffee468 somebody with some sense, and 2) i would love to see who on the bulls would have checked Hakeem? Luc Longley? HAHA GTFOH..I think he left for other reasons(gambling, father, loss of interest in the game, etc) but hey it didnt happen, he didnt win 8 str8 so deal with it
Lol. If anyone here is honestly dumb enough to say that Kobe is even half the player Jordan was, do yourself and everyone else a favor and just be quiet.
worm is one of the greatest players in history period..........Dream,worm,pip, jordan, magic and its a done deal............dont need a scoring PF just the baddest rebounder/toughest defender of all time

Man, i used to think something of this guy but after watching HIM oN VH! celebrity rehab, i lost all the respect for him. He is the definition of an A-hole. You guys should watch him and i will tell you that y'all will not like him.
joebm08 2 years ago
uhh he's always been like that... how do u not respect someone who led the league in rebounds for 7 straight seasons?
NICKST3R182 2 years ago
I admire what he has done for the Game.. But the way Rodman acts is beyond normal.
joebm08 2 years ago
he has some issues, but I'd take him 7 days a week and twice on sunday, compared to todays players. He only has 1 less ring than mike & pip...

4:17 thats so cool and sad at the same time
that kid wants to be like Dennis
i really think it`s a blessing to have any being look up to you.
I like Dennis because he isn`t afraid to do anything i.e he cross dresses and don`t even care what people say

@2707zay Be honest, stop sucking up -_-. I think the greatest trio ever was Magic Johnson, Kareem, and james Worthy, all HOF and 5 rings.
Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin McHale. All HOF 4 rings.
Wilt Chaimberlain (Numerous records o.O), Elgin Baylor, and Jerry West. All HOF 1 ring.
And don't get me started on this one. This can be 4 or 3 players. Bob Cousy, Bill Russell(11 rings) , John Haviliek/John Heinsohn. ALL HOF, 8 RINGS.
Newer one like Boston's Big 3, and now Miami's.

The man is a fierce competitor, and you are a moron.
bwink23 2 years ago 3
for the ppl who say jordan wouldve won those 2 yrs he retired this interview shows that wouldn't have happened. he lost his love of the game. just that alone would have prevented them from winning. i think those 2 yrs gave him perspective and is one of the most important factors 2 him winning the next 3
coffee468 2 years ago
What you say make sense. But you don't know and can't say that he wouldn't have won. MJ wanted to retire since Barcelona Olympics. So he had already lost the desire. The only reason that made him stay one more season is that he wanted to achieve a three peat. And he won! If MJ wouldn't have retired it would have meant that he had a good reason to stay so it's in ultra high probability that he would have won.
riiad 2 years ago
@coffee468 I think he was just tired of the publicity. Kobe has it easy. Jordan's life was like a life of Michael Jackson's. People just went crazy when he showed up so he couldn't do regular things at all. There is a great article about the last season with the Bulls in SI, it's crazy what people would do just to get a glimpse of Jordan. Plus he had achieved everything in has career. What's the motivation if you are so much better than everyone else?
75samuel75 1 year ago
@75samuel75 Yup. I had that issue, and that article is also online through SI's archive.
The main jist was during the season and locker room, it was the Emperor's domain. One story was he turned down everybody down that waned to see him, including a Congressman, but if you're meek enough, like a marathon winner from a poor country, you would get the nod.
Ichiro Suzuki as a rookie when coming to the US from Japan, his wish was to meet MJ which he did.
Now that's crazy stuff.
at1212b 1 year ago
@coffee468 somebody with some sense, and 2) i would love to see who on the bulls would have checked Hakeem? Luc Longley? HAHA GTFOH..I think he left for other reasons(gambling, father, loss of interest in the game, etc) but hey it didnt happen, he didnt win 8 str8 so deal with it
