@tipuppy2011 Aww boo hoo. I guess someone is upset that they didnt do as well as they wanted. There were plenty of other people on the road before us. How about you go complain to them...
@edgedweapon88 Excuse me? Cyclists that do not obey simple rules threaten the safety for all cyclists. I have dedicated my life to promoting safe cycling. In 5 seconds you can destroy all of my efforts that I have made the past 20+ years. Show some respect for your fellow cyclists. Yes, It took me 6 hours to finish with a flat. I expected 5 but the wind was tough.
@tipuppy2011 You can say the same thing about any sporting event or daily task. If one person speeds on the highway they threaten the safety of others. The Seagull is a "show and go" start that began at 7. There were police directing traffic and blocking off major roadways before the "official" start time. If you dont want riders starting before the "official" start time than it should be a mass start with police blocking riders from starting. I still dont see how my early start hurts you...
Dude, that looks awesome. I would really like to try a century ride someday. I just signed up for my first marathon that will take place next May. It is the Flying Pig Marathon here in Cincinnati. Should prove to be quite a challenge for me!
@guitarmikey2 It was a lot of fun. If you have the opportunity to ride a century sometime I would highly recommend it. The first time I completed one I had an overwhelming feeling of acomplishment... and still do to this day. Your going all out and tackling a full marathon for your first go round. NICE!! I have never run that far but I would probably end up doing a half marathon to ease the pain a little!! Thank you for watching!
The Seagull was a lot of fun this year. I was on the Assateague Route. The second half of the ride was ... personally challenging with the headwind. :)
@creaturecater This years Seagull had more wind than the last couple years. It was a lot of fun but like you said it did become challenging at the end as the wind picked up. Thank you for watching and congrats on completing the Seagull.
Very nice. The organized ride season here is winding down, bit I love cold weather riding a long as it stays dry. The last major ride I did was the Tour de BBQ in KC last month. Voted one of america's tastiest rides by Bicycling Magazine! I can attest to the accuracy of that statement. Keep the cycling vids coming!
@ExtraneousSolutions I agree, cold weather riding is fun as long as it is not wet. There is nothing worse than cold water hitting the back of your knees as your riding. I am doing another century this weekend and I will be posting a video on it. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the info. The first half of the Assategue ride was very busy. I had to keep a lookout ahead for slower riders while looking out behind for the large fast pacelines coming up. I prefer to be able to ride with fewer numbers and a more relaxed group. The Snow Hill ride looks like a good one to do. All in all it was a great time and plan to do it again.
Great video! I did the SGC for the first time last weekend but did the other course. I have to ask did you have the Snow Hill course to yourself? I would prefer a less traveled road next time and it seems that the Snow Hill course might be the one to use next time.
@tomt930 I would estimate that the majority of people (65-70%) do the Assateague route and the left over are split between the Snow Hill and Metric routes. The Assateague is definetly the more scenic of the 3 choices but you will always have more people because of that. I have ridden the SGC 5 times and this was the first time I did the Snow Hill route. It had much less people and was just as enjoyable. If you want less traffic/cyclists passing you I would do the Snow Hill next year.
Great job both of you. Still a mystery to me how you all do this so often but good on you for getting out there and being active. Congrats on another one completed you damn overachievers :) Love the "He's got a camera on his head" comment at the end.
@MrJimbofox You get used to it after you ride a couple centuries. You get to enoy the scenary more and dont have to worry about pushing yourself because you already know you can do it. I lost count of how many times people commented on the GoPro attached to my helmet. There were people waving, pointing and asking about it all day. It was like a young boy learning about boobs... all he wants to do is stare and say "i want to play with it"! Thanks for watching, Jimbo!
Great vid you two! Awesome ride! Thanks for taking us along with you! What kind of helmet cam do you use? I've been looking for a good one but can't decide. Also at 5:16 did you find a cat lol?
@katabunga I have a GoPro HD Helmet Hero. It is great for a multitude of sports and has many accessories to accomidate different mounting positions. You can find the older ( 720 HD) models for around $150 now that the full HD verison is out. I didnt notice a cat on our ride... hehe. Did you see one in the video? Thanks for watching!
Great video, Keelen!! I had so much fun even with all the wind. Can't wait for next year. I am looking forward to this weekend in Shenandoah. Thanks for sharing.
@AlienFourTwoSix Yes the vast majority were there just to enjoy the ride. There are always a few that have to get to the finish line first but they are always out numbered. Thank you for watching.
Official start time was 7am. You guys broke the rules. That's unsafe behavior for the rest of us.

@sk3wtr89 Average speed was 16 mph. Keep in mind that we had a pretty consistent head wind and gusts up to 40 mph the entire ride.
