  • I can't believe how often he repeats "advanced" without really explaining anything. American marketing at its worst... or finest: depends how you look at it.

  • Très bonnes explications!

  • would be cooler if the guy got soaked in

  • I want to work in ge........

  • Amazing!!

  • Amazing!!

  • So how does a turbo fan work?

  • Great idea ... explain ... how turbofan engine work

  • i guess the rejection system only works for small particles of sand no birds no water make an engine that is 80 percent efficient and that would impress me

  • muy bueno

  • cheesy

  • once again another advertisment for Ge and there engine

im not saying they cant do it but if there going to teach us something ill rather they use a different engine and not there own

  • Piece of junk. Use the Pratt & Whitney JT8D powerhouse instead.

  • @maousn75 I agree 100% man. There's nothing like a P&W motor.

  • @maousn75 LOL

  • They should sign off every Video, saying thank you Frank Whittle, for making these dreams possible.

  • Let's see the rejection system reject a bird. Or two.

  • Good presentation!

  • I think you'll find that they are ALL gas turbines but of different varieties. Early engines we Turbojets, then we developed low bypass Turbofans and now we have the efficient high bypass Turbofans.

  • If only this was a How a Gas turbine works video and not a GE sales video... told me nothing about how a Gas Turbine works.

  • this engine is not a gas turbine, its a high bypass turbo fan

  • ummm....actually....it IS a gas turbine....oh wait no im so sorry you're right...its a reciprocating engine...with pistons n shit...valves...

  • pistons...valves ? ok,maybe it is a TYPE of gas turbine im not gonna argue with the turbofanman i may be proven wrong

  • @FlyBoyRez

Yep, corporate marketing at its finest. Buzzwords and hype out the wazoo, but no substance of any sort.

  • each one of those cost around 21 million dollars, the 777 need 2 of them

  • And this engine isn't for use on the 777! This will be used on the new 787.

  • If I recall correctly, the GE90 he keeps referring to is the engine used on the 777.

  • @FlyBoyRez

try reading, it wouldn't hurt you.

  • @incognitostatus Hey dude... still waiting to hear what you think I should be reading? It's easy to make pithy comments without any substance, so how about you back it up with some explanation as to why I need to do some reading.

  • @FlyBoyRez The GeNX only produces around 60-70,000 lbs of thrust compared to 115,000lbs of the GE90-115 for the 777 so they are optimised for the smaller 787 and the 4 engined 747-8

  • @insaneclown271 er... thanks but I knew that... not sure why you felt I was the one missing that point, but thanks anyway!
