to all the people, Yami in Okami have 5 forms, not 4, these form are, the red machine ball, that is the first phase of this battle, the floating burning green ball, the blue machine slot, the yellow ball with feet and tentacles arm, that its the second form in this battle, and the last and true form from both games, a Red Floating Hand in a ball, well, maybe Yami isnt the most original final boss in appearance, but its such a badass villain, he rules!

You can only superjump it, and its usually too late. Superjumping early will probably get you killed by his other super instead.

Actually, the timing really isn't that hard. It might be more difficult with characters that can't double jump (e.g. Alex), but you can usually avoid it fairly easily.

Alternatively, you can just Mega Crash out of it.

There's another way actually, If you are crouching right in front of Yami when he does the grab, his grab wont catch you. Same when you are pushing the screen to the maximum view size and you are on the right side; yami on the left.

quick tip, if you having trouble beating this boss with anyone, try teaming them up with yatterman, he's invincible during his qcf super, try to meter build with the main, and spam spam supers with Yatter, hope that helps

To me Yami cheats because i set the difficulty to the highest and all he does is take mad health from you and keep doing the same moves.

And I don't know how it is possible to dodge them.But we beat him a few times.And sometimes i do a super move and sometimes or most he doesn't get hurt.When he takes away lots of health I Scream and yell.I don't know what the creators were thinking but Awesome Game.

This is pretty bad play. Seriously, imagine you're seeing this boss for the first time. You're really going to dash up to him and do crouching jabs and shoryuken moves? Even if you've never fought a versus game boss before, it doesn't take long to realize the boss isn't reeling from your hits, and if you don't play distance and defensively, everything he does is gonna hit you. This guy attacks into the boss's swings and everything. Real bad.

Amaterasu would be such a cheap character in this game. Freezing the action and your opponent anytime you want to draw slashing lines, lightning, bombs, fire, etc. would take all the challenge out.

Her paintbrush techniques would probably be special moves, although the action wouldn't freeze when they were performed as each special could have different variations (in distance and the like) depending on what button is pressed last.
