Love the Gospel Bill Show, I am 42 years old and still watch every Saturday on TBN and Promiseland TV in Dallas, TX. Favorite part of each week is the songs that Ken Blount sings. Thanks for the uploads.
Wow, Thanks so much for adding gospel shows, and video. If you have anything else on gospel bill or nicodemus please post it. more, more. Awesome. I remember this when I was a child in Vacation bible school. I am now 28. The words and message is still alive today as it was back in the 80's.
Elmer P Barns the guy with the worms. Man this is a part of my child hood that most of my friends will never comprehend, only church kids in the early 90s new this jazz.
yeah, Elmer!!!! i had one friend who watched Gospel Bill but other people have NO clue what im talking about, I feel bad for them, this show was so great back in the day!

That was not YHShVH aka Jesus, that was his dad aka YHVH aka God as mythology says (it was really evolution although perhaps evolution is the gods tool of creation)
I have been looking all over the net to try and figure out what was the 'cowboy' Christian videos we used to watch at Church and at home and finally my brain can rest. Thanks for the memory and now I will probably have this song stuck in my head for the rest of the evening :)
When I was Protestant I used to watch this show as a kid. To be honest to me it was always one of those shows that I didn't like but still watched. Not sure why but I did. Sorta like "Saved by the Bell" and "John Hagee". But it seems like most people on this guest book liked it so...OK...
The night that OJ Simpson was being chased down the interstate by police, I was sitting at my Pastor's house with Ken Blount (Nicodemus, the guy in the video) on the couch watching it happen. He kept saying "I don't see why they don't just shoot 'im."
(Willie George Ministries was in our town doing a seminar at our church, and Pastor had them all at his house for dinner that night, along with my family. I was just a kid.)
@HEBisreal Believe me or not, it happened. My dad had a horse at the time, and I remember sitting at the meal with the lot of them, and my dad asked Pastor George how he conditioned his horse to be so calm around gunfire. (It boiled down to gradual conditioning). Jim Wideman (Lefty Wright) was also there. My brother had attended training under him at Church on the Move in Oklahoma, so that was pretty cool. Those are the only three I specifically remember being there. OH, Trudy Blount too.
I think the song was a hit, but not for Blount. The song was first recorded on Leon Patillo's 1984 album, "I Heard the Thunder". Patillo was the lead vocalist for the group Santana before he got saved.
Not sure what the deal was with Barkimeaus, but I don't remember ever seeing a rerun with that character. Maybe by the time most of the reruns took place (1986 to 1990-ish) they wanted to take a slightly (emphasis on SLIGHTLY) more serious tone.
When he was spelling out Jesus' name, where he said U.S., I could help but joke around and make it look like he said 'U Suck.' :P
I'm not making fun of Jesus, but I was simply making fun of the video because I didn't really like Gospel Bill growing up.
It's okay if anybody who likes the song, agrees or disagrees. :)

Is there any chance you could upload some more of Ken Blount's music videos? Maybe his song called "Such a Time as This." I love that song!
Either way, thanks for the upload! :-)

why wasn't this song a huge hit?
and is it true that nicodemus and barkameus had a massive falling out?
matthewteardrop 3 years ago
I think the song was a hit, but not for Blount. The song was first recorded on Leon Patillo's 1984 album, "I Heard the Thunder". Patillo was the lead vocalist for the group Santana before he got saved.
Not sure what the deal was with Barkimeaus, but I don't remember ever seeing a rerun with that character. Maybe by the time most of the reruns took place (1986 to 1990-ish) they wanted to take a slightly (emphasis on SLIGHTLY) more serious tone.
