  • wow thats the best overdrive/breakup ive ever heard in my life 0.o

  • Unbelievable tone.

  • Wow! Do not have such a good sound heard.

  • 2 people have solid state amps

  • awesome monster tone :D

  • inspiring, really

  • I got one made by Ruby and I love it.

  • A Fender into a Fender - you can't beat that pristine tone. It helps that you are a lovely player too.

  • Thanks , much appreciated

  • Oh my god, what a sound, that amp getting older and become more monster! thanks for the video sharing. love this!

  • i would love to hear another video like this one with a humbucker guitar like a les paul.

  • @logen99999 I f I had such a guitar , I would do it !

  • Un-freakn-believable tone there,mate!!!

As noted,no wonder Jim chose to base his amps on this schematic. Beautiful.

Just came across this from a thread someone linked to on MLP Forum.

    You're an Aussie too...Bottoms up !

  • Noticed a link on twitter and have to say, great playing on your part, telecasters rule, an incredible amp...OMG that is some amazing sound! thanks for uploading and demoing.

  • @waynek007 thanks very much

  • You lucky son of a duck!

  • Damn, sounds sweet. Did you go deaf at the overdriven part? haha

  • @youenjoy00myself haven't gone deaf yet, after 38 years !

  • @mpunch51 Nice playing, by the way. Those drop D licks just sing through this amp.

  • Hi there, what is the tuning on this guitar?

  • @danyjr it's in "drop-D' tuning....i.e. the low E is down to D

  • That clean! It just rings for days. Such a simple setup, yet it covers such a wide variety of tones. And not just any tones. THE tones. And not to mention, your playing is just fantastic. Very clean and expressive. Thanks for uploading!!

  • @tehorix789 thanks for your kind words

  • joooder como suena eso, es lo maximo

  • wow...sounds awesome...thanks for the video !!!

  • how about wobble-board accompaniment on this one? only joking nice playing and immortal amp!!

  • i am soo f...... jeluos ! Man that is very cool sound ! =)

  • WOW!!!!

  • I wonder why Jim Marshall chose this exact model of amplifier to copy? It doesn't get any better than this. The sag and compression! Great playing as well to demonstrate it's potential.

  • @rbauer1632 thanks

  • Thanks so much, but it's really just all around D G and Asus kind of mood. it wasn't worked out, i just started playing & that's what popped out

  • @mpunch51 -what makes the original fender amps sound so much better than the modern reissues?

  • It's because they were all hard-wired with separate components on a single board , soldered with solid copper wire between. The modern amps are all shortcuts with printed circuit boards...it just doesn't ever sound the same.

  • @1954telecaster It's because they were all hard-wired with separate components on a single board , soldered with solid copper wire between. The modern amps are all shortcuts with printed circuit boards...it just doesn't ever sound the same.

There are some great boutique amp-makers now doing high-quality hard-wired amps , but not the majors...it's just too expensive to build them.

  • It would be so great if you could show us the chords , it sounds so so beautiful...

  • i just discoverd one of these in my uncles basement along with a 1957 telecaster with a coil spring whammy bar... that amp and guitar together is unbelievable! -Coop-

  • @skynyrdman1977 you are the luckiest guy ahhaa man i wish i could say that.

  • @megajames3000 another cool thing is that when my uncle lived in miami he traded a 12 string gibson es335 for it... and he got it from the great greg allman from the allman brothers!

(im not sure if my spelling is correct haha) -Coop-

  • @skynyrdman1977 wow my neighbor claims to have a 58 twin, i want it.

  • @megajames3000 Very cool!! hahaa

  • you're a very lucky man !

  • @skynyrdman1977

    OMG!

    You just won the lottery

  • @skynyrdman1977 holy fuck...keep it yo don't sell it!

  • The sustain is amazing - sounds like you're playing thru a compressor (and a REAL good one). Yes, I read the description & I know you're not, just sayin'. Beautiful sound.

  • RIGHTEOUS!!

  • Nice chords.

  • not too shabby!

  • 1:50-2:00 :D

  • oh that tone oh that tone

  • Great Amp, Great Playing. Brilliant!

  • what a sound...... this is it!

  • For a sound so great !...

  • That's a nice one. I think You'll get your asking price too.

  • This amp completes me.

  • good funky playing men!!

  • what do these sound like with bass... they were designed for it

  • pretty fucking amazing

  • wow dude

    wow wow

  • How much do originals cost? And is this a really hard amp to find?

  • Greatest amp ever built!

  • Best example of why people call this the Holy Grail of amps. That clean is so sweet. Thanks for sharing.

  • H.E.A.V.E.N!!!

  • Thanks....yes, standard tuning with dropped D

  • Sonds lovely man! What tuning are youmusing is it just standard tuning with dropped D?

  • Thanks, yes it's a great amp..and I've had a few ! If you like this, check out my friend Jackie Bristow's CD..."Freedom",

on which I played all the guitars..using this same Telecaster, through the Bassman & a Pro-Junior... there's also some baritone guitar on a couple of songs. Jackie's a great songwriter.....worth hearing for her songs alone, and I think I got some good sounds as well ! it's easy to play on great material, very hard to make crap sound good ! thanks again, mark

  • that thing is freaking gorgeous

  • OOooohhh my GOD !!!!!! REALLY GOOD SOUND..

  • thank you ...the clean part is volume on about 3, then at 2.55 I change it to about 5 or 6....roughly 1/2 to 2/3 up.....then from 3.50 on it's fully cranked

  • what volume was this on, and btw I have that riff stuck in my head at about 2:55,, I listen to this clip everyday, lol. Love it man, I have a 90 reissue, not the same at all.

  • Thanks ... those 2 preamp tubes are GE ( USA, 60s era )

  • outstanding amp! nice video! I have a Mino also. I like it. I just got a 1960 Bassman that I am having "brought back to life" Those Tung sols sound great too. what do you have for the 12ax7 or ay7's? Thanks!

  • Beaut !

  • i wanna fuck this bassman over and over again!!!!!!

  • Fantastic sounding amp there, and through a camera mic. Imagine the awesomeness in person (or at the least a proper studio mic)

  • I am an expert. 11k too much.

  • Best clean I've heard in a long time. And I like that this amp adds a little bit of bass, power, and chime behind (in my opinion) trebly almost thin sounding Fender amp tones. Wow, I'm blown away.

  • that amp is Tone Heaven !! I love it ..you can play any style of music through that amp, I have a reissued and it dosent sound anything like this at all lol

  • Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about...I've never used the phrase "Telecaster guitar forum " in my life

  • No offense, but evn just mentioning that dopey "Telecaster Guitar Forum" in your message is enough to make many people immediately leave your video.

  • Had to come back and listen to this again. BTW, thanks for having the good taste to do your demo primarily with grooves and rhythm parts rather than tossing out scads of pointless single-note licks with off-pitch bends relating to nothing. So many fools out there be doin' that.

  • @JuanDeSoCal I agree 100% and i too, thank you for doing what you did, and no silly wiggly-wiggly-wiggly shredy stuff.

  • Dude, this is killer!! Great sounding vid, thx for posting.

  • 5:00 sounds like Neil Young.

  • Can't they make exact copies of this amp? or have they already?

  • Frackin' A... voice of God right there.

  • I have a 59 bassman ltd Ri but it doesn't have that magic. very close though. better than a Victoria

  • Damn - this is fine !!! Anyone able to tab riff at about 2:51 - I can get close but still missing something - heavy and sweet - love it !!!!

  • treble on zero, bass on zero, middle on 1/2...and presence on full

  • I wish you'd've wrote down how you dialed that in, besides the volume.

  • I used a Flip Video HD camera....the amp does have all original speakers & cones, except one cone replaced 20 years ago

  • What type of camera and microphone did you use to record this? Does the amp have the orignal speakers with original cones?

  • there has never been a better amp that has ever been made, period!

  • No pedals, any reverb is the room, and yes there is distortion, but it is simply the amp overdriven more or less from the guitar volume...no pedal distortion. Only a plain lead from guitar to amp. thanks for listening !

  • You're kidding, that had absolutely no pedals? I can swear I hear verb and some tremelo as well as distortion at times.

  • Is it plugged in ? I can't see the cord jack into the amp.

Is this the one Jacksons have for $10,500

  • Yes, plugged in with a lead straight to amp ... yes it is in Jackson's now. thanks

  • Hi Jack...I use D'Addario XL-115 ... 11-49 Nickel Electric strings...thanks

  • @mpunch51 Thank you very much. I'm doing some research, based on your video, to make my Bassman '59 LTD sound in a similar way as yours. I like to believe that I can match that sound (or, at least, get decently close) with some tweaking. I'm starting with tube rolling (also because the tube complement on the LTD is different from the original ones, for example in V1 - 12AX7), then I'll work my way through a point-to-point hand wired circuit, if necessary... And stuff. We'll see how close I get!

  • Hello Mark, may I ask which strings (size and brand/model) were you using in this video?

    Thank you,

    Jack

  • Wow.

  • at 11.500 I am going to guess it's still for sale, I just bought one for 5.5k

  • buy a retweed for 3 grand, same tone and will still go up in value

  • Treble right down, bass right down, mids up a little, presence full

     thanks, mark

  • what is the equalization?

  • Super Chimey, beautyful.

  • 11,500? not in this market

  • You're asking $11,500 for the amp? You must be married. I trick my wife like that myself, put guitars and amps up for sale (that I have no intention of selling), at a price I know no one will buy it for.

  • @whybotherwithauserna Well put, I can buy a clean all original '59 right now for 5500-6000, I think this market is the new "normal"

  • It's Magnificent!! Your gonna wish you never sold it dude!

  • ... THAT ... is gorgeous. Absolutely stunning.

  • OMG you have to find something else to sell!!! That is a piece of history, and is the amp that spawned the tone for rock, blues, and country. I have not heard an amp that sounds that ballsy ever, other amps might have more gain, but none with this much attitude.

  • how much wuld u be willing to sell it for? i tried to email u i dont know if it worked or not

  • @canteymancan123

    Hi...yes , it's still for sale....I'm asking $11,500.00

  • wuld this beautiful peice of history still be up for sale? i wuld give it a good home

  • @canteymancan123 Yes, It's still for sale , please contact me at ... mpunk51@hotmail.com to discuss it if you like thanks & regards, mark

  • @mpunch51 still for sale?

  • @canteymancan123 how much would you sell this for?

  • UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

  • dont sell it......sell your guitars, just dont sell the amp. you will regret it 4 minutes after you sell it

  • quite possibly the finest amp ever made... and nice playing as well.

  • oh my god awesome tone.

  • did you change the handle?? because i'm pretty sure the original 1959 bassman didn't have a rubber handle.

  • @FahQposeurfag yes, I just put a new handle on. The original broke a long time ago..mid 80s, and I had one made to replace it, but decided to get a new one recently to look better.

  • @mpunch51 ok, cool, i was wondering about that...sounds really nice!

  • Ahh, every amp amp sounds good with drop-D tuning. No big deal. Just kidding. The amp sounds wonderful and is one of the classics. Nice demo. Great playing too.

  • @superreverbking Thanks , yes it's great, but sadly i have to sell it.....walls are closing in as we speak, though I've had it for 25 years, so I can't complain..I've been very lucky to have experienced real instrunents. All the best to you & thanks

  • @mpunch51

What a shame! Hope it goes to someone who will use it and not keep it in a glass case. I can understand your situation (all too well). Your Deluxe Reverb sounds great, so you can carry on.

  • Ah, how sweet she is.

  • Dude, if i had the money i would buy this, BTW would you be willing to take an arm or leg as deposit??? Greetings from a fellow Australian

  • Wow !

That is an amazing amp, i have the '59 reissue and i love it.

But i can't crank it too max unless i want too cause an eathquake and all my furniture reanranged.

Youre ears must hurt after that !

    Greetings from belgium.

  • @willeken haha ! Best grappig!
