Respond to this video... Wow! that was the fastest 10 minutes ever. Ok , so this guy knows atleast 16 people who agreed to post "LIKES" to save face, since all he really said was "tweak-to-flavor".
Speaking as a mastering engineer with 28 years' experience in the the recording industry... this mushroom doesn't know mastering from a hole in the ground. :-)
i watch expert village purely for the sake of laughing at the idiots claiming to be experts when its obvious they have no idea what the fuck theyre on about! lol like the pet rat videos, apparently someone with lots of experience and she said baby rats are totally dependant on their mother until 6 weeks old when their eyes open. i would have thought an 'expert' would know that their eyes start to open after about 2 weeks, and they reach
sexual maturity at 5 weeks and so should be separated then or theyll all end up pregnant!
pft! expert village needs to be stopped. instead of filling peoples heads with shit cuz people who dont know any better have no reason to think that the information on here is wrong, so they accept nonsense as fact
Right, I appreciate your point. However, to indemnify myself I should explain that I hadn't heard of these people before watching this video. From what I observed and from what you've told me I was apparently wasting my time. Thanks for replying. :-)
this guy is an idiot....Mastering is the final process. It raises the volume to a certain decible for instance 0db. Mastering also involves spacing the tracks so there is a flow between one song and another. Also mastering involves placing the songs in a particular order. It also invovles limiting the sound to a peak so that when you put the CD in any stereo you can crank it up without it distorting.
Please try to use more specific terminology. You should talk about compression and normalization and explain the difference. Mastering engineers don't try to compress a mix "as much as possible". If that were true, anyone could be a mastering engineer. However, I do appreciate that you point out that mastering engineers are specialists because I find that some people don't realize the amount of skill and experience that is necessary for mastering.
This is where the wrong teachers teach a student i will quote him ''Raises the volume as high as it can go'' This is a NO NO!!! u want dynamics on your mix and not just one big noise.....
This is the issue nowadays called the ''Loudness War'' but if your a independant artist it would be better to master your mixes with about 3 db 2db max
the best thing is to GOOGLE "Mastering Recording Levels" were one could learn how to set the best levels for each type of track instrument or audio recording.
The bass, drums, high-hats, guitars tambourines and vocals, piano and all other Vst sounds each have approximate levels to master.
The more you mezmorize the better your music will sound. Just learn this stuff online.
Use you EARS! they don't lie unless your deaf. Haha
pf ff, whats good about it? tooo superficial...this is just commercials so you go to him, and pay!!! very bad. you are no teacher!! moneymaker. he is trying to keep his secrets. there are many guys who do 10x better on youtube

@Tozzywozzy Well, it's kind of foolish to think you're going to learn such a craft by watching a single Youtube tutorial.
