  • what if your house gets squashed by the contact with a giant snail from outer space? and you and your entire family and your storage... get squashed... or what if the planet explodes? lastly, what if you live in Somalia and not only your family doesn't have favorite foods, they don't have any money to buy any food and build any kind of storage... well, they'd be in no way worse in the case the planet explodes. and in fact it will, you'll see ;)

  • I Think she means quarts!!!!

  • 14 gallons of water per person per day for drinking?

  • @sambass951 I think she meant to say 14 gallons of water per person stored. 14 gallons is a two week storage for one person. I hope this helps.

  • I cant wait to have a room like this, this is awesome!!!

  • 14 gallons of water per person per day!!! 8 pounds of salt per person ARE YOU INSANE that amount of water would kill you, where are you coming up with these numbers?

  • Sorry about posting like this youtube is not cooperating. We have metal roofing on the house and all out buildings with the rain barrels you spoke of at each down spout cover with fine mesh to keep all the critters out. If you do this you should buy a water filtration system to be able to use this rain water in a time of need. Ours is diverted to a large set of tanks set up for gravity feed. The filter we have is 30$ at Cheaper Than Dirt and is just like a big berkey you will need 2-5 gal buckets

  • THEY WILL SHUT THE POWER OFF AND SHUT DOWN THE WATER GET A ANY GOOD GRAVITY DRIP WATER PURIFIER BIG BERKEY OR HAND PUMP ONE STORE WATER BEFORE THEY SHUT IT DOWN THE FOREIGHN TROOPS WORKING FOR THE NEW WORLD ORDER HATE THE CONSTITUTION AND WILL MURDER YOU AMERICA AWAKE. GHOST! NO FEMA CAMP GOOLOG FOR ME.

  • Yes having more water than less is good but you only need one to two gallons of drinking water per person per day not 14

  • Next Tip... Buy all spices that you can whole. Whole spices hold their potency much better than preground. All you need to grind them is a cheap electric or manual coffee grinder. Whole spices can last years and years. Like your video, nice setup u have going.

  • Couple of tips... You should rack your 55gal water drums up in gravity feed racks with a hose bib type spigot on the outlet so you don't need a pump to get it out. That's what we do with chemicals at work that come in a drum. Also all those thin water bottles cut and burst easily, I had a bunch of gallon jugs of water in my closet on a shelf and one day I had a pool of water in my hallway :( better to just dispense from the drum into a nalgene to take with you. Just keep a case or two of pre b

  • Smart thing...plan for the worst hope for the best. I know for myself acquiring long term food storage is top on my list. Unfortunately most food storage company's are so expensive with minimum orders that are only affordable to those in a higher tax bracket. What about those who are truly struggling in this economy ? The answer is on my channel...you can even get free long term storable food & preparedness items that truly just about anyone can afford. God Bless

  • 14 gallons per person per day for drinking water is a bit much you may want to take another look at your source of information. The Mayo clinic says that 2 liters per day for an adult is plenty and that the average urine output for adults is roughly 1.5 liters. If you are active I could see drinking more but not 14 gallons. Now if you are talking washing, cooking, flushing, bathing and drinking I would say that would be closer to your 14 gallons. But you should ration more in a time of need.

  • @Archer46176 True with amount. I have see of late that the classic 8 of 8oz a day has been brought down somewhat like 5-6per day. The Berkey filter would be fantastic way to go to extend the supply. One tip is to get a covered rain barrel and divert a (clean) downspout into it. That could be used for wash-up and flushing if you didn't have a filter.

  • Great Video! I can tell you have invested a lot of time and effort into your Food Reserve Plan. Great Post!

  • whoever has this woman as a wife,is with out a doubt the luckiest man on earth !!

  • Is this a store or her stored food ?

  • Instead of spending a small fortune maintaining a 3 months supply of stored food and water, have you considered seeking mental health counselling and finding a normal sect of Christianity? Try one that dates to, at least, the Reformation.

Oh Joseph Smith. You silly goose.

  • @vincelanders Why does this have to be about religion? I'm agnostic, and I think having food and water stored up is very important. We like to live in this dream world where we think that nothing bad will ever happen and there will always be plenty of food and water available to us. The cold hard facts is that the US economy will collapse at some point, we just can't sustain the track we are on. So when you and your family are starving i'm sure you can just ask your "Normal" god for help.

  • @ReloadingAddict Also a nonbeliever heathen--no eternal salvation for me. And the basement bunker with and entire armory of hoarded guns is absolutely a shared Mormon delusion due to some strange end times prophecy that manages to be even crazier than the evangelical variety. All of these preserved food and container vendors are Mormon owned companies primarily serving Mormons and other secular irrationals worried about some sort of infrastructure/environmental/economic collapse.

  • @vincelanders Save your bunker building money and visit a developing country where the majority of the population lives on 1/3 or less of an American salary. I suggest a Southern Cone nation or somewhere in Central Eastern Europe. There won't be some sudden collapse turning us all into peasant subsistence farmers. A gradual decline in GDP and average incomes is the more likely result of the growth of China and the Global South. Westerners have quite a lot of excess to cope.

  • @ReloadingAddict Heard many folks who lost their job and have lived off of the stored food to stretch the unemployment check! It just makes sense.

  • coodos! you've got a pathmark in your basement lol

  • great vid youo did a great service to everyone thanks

  • Great advice!

Could you do a vido on how to build shelves like yours. Thanks :)

  • awesome storage, sister, by the way, 1 gallon of water per person per day, is enough but you can never have enough stored water.

  • I just had to give away all expired cannned/pkg/boxs after keeping two yrs.

Your storage looks like you have enough for 6 months or more. Do you throw away expired after how long?

  • I would love for you to post more videos! You are so informative, Thanks!

  • 14 gallons of water is way toooooooo much

  • I want your shelves, I am soooooo jealous! Good video!

  • She is wrong,1 gal a day,14shit......I would spend the day taking a PISS. lol

  • 1-2 gallon per person per day for drinking ! Not 14

  • We had a home in Ohio we sold last year. Our basement storage looked JUST like yours. My hubby built the shelves. I miss the basement. We are in FL with no basement so finding space is difficult.

  • Can I ask a question? What do you and your husband do for money cuz damn that's a lot of food!!!

  • condoms, dont forget condoms, u don't wanna have babies while ur down there.

  • @nepalihercules lol, and tampons 2, cant forget that either :D

  • Great job - I find it amazing that so many people are completely unprepared. I only keep a 1 dry storage supply due to lack of appropriate storage space, but I raise my own animals and have a lot of food crops, and a full freezer - so that helps.

  • Don't forget weapons, if you have none remember people with weapons can come take your food.

  • I thought it was 1 gallon per person per day?!

  • @mayorphill it is

  • YOU HAVE YOU GLASS BOTTLES ON THE EDGE OF YOUR TOP SHELF.

if we get a earthquake . your gonna have a big mess. i think you should nail a 2x1 board across the shelf to stop that from happening.

  • Thank you for the great video. Don't let the negative comments bother you. I stock everyday items just like you and will use those first in time of need. I also have an impressive amount of self packed goods in Mylar with O2 absorbers that will keep good out to 25 yrs. Any food is better than no food. Better to have, than to have not. Good job on the video.

  • you might die from poisoning from all those metal cans lol. But I'd rather have some food than no food.

  • Is that tasty Morninig Moo's I see? Nice!

  • Is that tasty Morninig Moo's I see? Nice!

  • Tips. Go Southern States type Feed Store. Buy 50 lb Triple Cleaned Race Horse Oats for about $15. Whole grains lasts forever almost. Get Bran and Flax Seed.

You need about 25 bags for family of 4 for a year. You can eat the hulls. Need Grinder. Stock anything imported Coffee, Tea, Olive Oil.these will be super expensive soon. Cocoa. TOILET PAPER. Always wanted in a collapse.

  • Chemicals from cement cannot get into a water drum (BS ChE BYU 1981)

You need a lot more than 100 lb/person of wheat.

Wheat does not by any stretch of imagination have all the proteins you need. It is woefully insufficient in many amino acids.

  • @loganv0410 Because whole wheat contains the wheat germ, it is more complete than store bought flour that has had the germ removed. I am not an expert, but I believe this is the case.

  • you should eat from your storage and replace what you eat from time to time

  • Yeah, I've heard about 1 gallon/day for drinking. Obviously, 14 is better than 1.

  • gurl, u r PREPARED !!!!!!

  • whats that moose stuff? i googled it and nothing came up...

  • @nlty2000 Morning Moo's -- Augason Farms

  • Those plastic water bottles are poisonous.. The longer you store them. The more poison will be in the water.. Don't believe me? Watch the free documentary "Tapped".. The clear ones are worse than the gallon jugs.. I recently started using big glass wine jugs.. They're actually a lil bigger than a gallon.. You have to drink a lot of wine to get the bottles... but what the hell !!

  • @younwhosarmy Its a rough job, but someones got to do it!

  • I keep trying to go to myfoodstoragedealsdotcom and it takes me to dealstomealsdotcom instead which is a site where you pay $1 a week for their service. :( I am blocking it! Too bad this site that was listed does not exist.

  • Odd question - I am not Morman so I do not know if I would be able to use the cannery for purchasing some of the items you showed on your video? Please let me know if the cannery is open to the public or only for church members. Thank you.

  • @RacheilAZ it depends on which cannery you go to. Online @ LDS.org you can get cases of oats, wheat, rice, and milk....(not sure about the milk) but its sold at cost. You have to can to get the good stuff like apples ect. it takes about 3 hours. take friends and family. Call your local cannery to set up a time to come in and find out if you can go in as a nonmember. If not, you can always find a member and tag along. they could probably even set it up for you. its worth it to look into it.

  • Very organized!

  • 14 gallons per person per day? Only if your using that water to bath in on a daily basis. Important is to ROTATE your food. Canned tomatoes and canned fruits are the first to burst after air accumulates inside. Tuna, peanut butter, can soups (for water content) last a good while. Dehydrate fruits and veg's. Vac pack them for long storage, incase no food at stores. What do you put into the barrels to keep water safe for drinking? In case you have to use that water to survive?

  • Shes richer than anyone i know.Mostl be competing for a spot in line at the garbage cans (or trying to break in her house!

  • Test

  • Hey, Love the videos....check out our sites PreservationPublications & PreservationPublications.blogspot

  • I'm sorry... but how can you have that much food in your house knowing that there are so many people who go hungry everyday?!?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @JustinN86 Because there's lots of people going hungry round, why dont you feed them all, dumbass

  • @thenateman15 Why don't I feed them? Because I don't have a grocery store in my basement, that's why! Your comment doesn't even make sense... and I'm the dumbass?

  • @JustinN86 Well go get a grocery store for your basement and feed all those starving people that you care about so much. Yes, you are the dumbass, the biggest dumbass i've ever seen on youtube, which says alot...dumbass

  • @thenateman15 What are YOU doing to feed them? I admire her for her planning & forethought. Apparently, you are fortunate enough to have never needed a long-term food supply. It may surprise you, but most people WILL face more than one situation requiring long-term pre-planning.

  • @heirloomessentials I am doing absolutely nothing to help those starving people I dont know. I cant, and wont, save the world; but i'll definately do everything I can to feed my family and loved ones. I have run into situations where long-term food storage would have made life easier, so that's why I work towards my families food storage plan. I just cant stand those who rag on people who store up food or resources, and then say "Why dont you help others?" Heres a novel idea, feed yourself.

  • @heirloomessentials BTW, this lady definately has the right idea; and I too admire her intellect and foresight to prepare for harder times, while you're actually able to do so. I've explained to all of my friends and family the benefits of food storage, and i'm happy to see most of them work towards their food stores. Sucks to see others completely ignore advice(like in this video) but like I said, im not gonna save the world. Can't feed everyone, but i'll try to teach them to feed themselves

  • I am new to this, so please forgive my ignorance......what do you do with the wheat?

  • @Izaana030505 Well, if you're asking questions about something, you're not holding it in ignorance. Re-watch the video, beginning at about 7:35, where she says: ", . . . even if you don't know what to do with it.".

  • That's where there is the saying, 'Store what you eat, eat what you store.'

  • This woman has no clue what she is doing. Its just hype for a business.

Starting fro the beginning she is way off about water and only an idiot buys the small water bottles. Those things leach a lot of toxins into your water and are usually just bottled tap water from some soda factory.

Its also insane to put normal tap water into a storage container.

A lot of the food she has stored is highly unsafe to store for long, tomato products in cans, tuna and the taco bell kits that go rancid.

  • @dirkstorm They have dates on them and you rotate them....pretty simple....Hello McFly!!!!

  • 14 gallons

  • Now THAT'S preped !

  • Good grief, people. She misspoke when she said "per person per day"; the title card right before that section had it right. Chill out.

  • Is this a sport or something? I put my food in the cupboard...

  • Guns, Ammo, and less food that is use less towards giving the body the srenght it will need during this food crisis that will happen!! Thats good that you got all that ready just secure it!!

  • very neat, i have a little shelf started now

  • theres a problem with her food storage, all of it will expire soon.

  • @GameStopNY look at dates, some cans expire 2015. lots 2014. Ignorant

  • @privateeconomic - yeah? go to the store. I can assure you most of the crap she has will expire in like 2012-2013. Don't call me ignorant. The best way is to get dehydrated food that last about 10-15 years.

  • @GameStopNY The reason why she says to buy things that you regularly eat, is so that you can regularly rotate out items with new items.

  • no use storing that many canned goods that only have a shelf life of at most 18 months. Unless you actually go through all that in that time period.

  • Awesome vid! I wish my food storage looked like yours! lol I'm just building up a supply and its nowhere near what you have. Well done!!

  • a person to be hydrated properly only needs to consume half their body weight in ounces of water per day .For example if you weigh 100 lbs. you should drink 50 ozs. All though in a disaster or some catastrophic event too much water is never enough.

  • everyone who disagrees should just shut up and not buy ANY food. I'll laugh when I see your sorry ass standing in a FEMA "pod" line. CLowns.....

  • @TheTruthoverlies they are used to the government taking care of them.....trust the government..they care about you......hahahhahha

  • OMG has anyone ever tasted that Morning Moo? It is sick. I bought a can and after one cup threw it away! If you can't drink real milk check soy milk or another mfr. Of course it only cost a dollar a gallon.

FYI: 1 gallon of water per person per day for drinking and 1 gallon per person per day for washing.

  • OMG this is impressive. When the SHTF I'm going to your house!

  • Isn't 14 gallons of drinking water per day too much, I think I would die if i drank that much water in one day.

  • Omg I go through 3 bottles of ketchup a year for two people and friends....how many kids does this lady have?

  • i dont care about the taste of food. i only eat what is necessary not what i feel like

  • @invictusmenachio

Dude, you favorited "Kid Rock" videos -- Credability FAIL!!!!

  • WOW! that was THE MOST impressive food storage I have seen on YouTube! Awesome info...thank you.

  • For water, I got a Katadyn Survivor...

It's a manual desalinator that allows me to pump fresh water from any water source, including the ocean.

  • @TheBrotherMo My friends and I have a novel idea. Store 50 gallon drum with water heavily treated with a preservative -like sodium bisulfate or sodium DBSA. It's not drinkable, but bacteria won't grow either.

Then, when you need water, use the Katadyn Survivor to pump the fresh water out of solution and distill the rest.

Essentially, it'll allow you to store water for a lot longer than typically was possible, ready for you to pump fresh water out of.

  • does anyone remember the last time they drank 14 gallons in a single day? i have maybe 3 glasses. she said to drink 14 gallons. doing this is expensive, you would have to kill graboids for a living to have a storage like this.

  • I am envious of your food stores. I hope to get there myself.

  • This is a geat video. I was looking for something with a clea step-by-step. Thank you!!!!

Oh, and did you mean to see 14 gallons per person per day for drinking??? That seems like enough for each person for all of their water needs for the day. Do you agree?

  • This is a geat video. I was looking for something with a clea step-by-step. Thank you!!!!

Oh, and did you mean to see 14 gallons per person per day for drinking??? That seems like enough for each person for all of their water needs for the day. Do you agree?

  • THIS FAT BITCH MAKN MONEY OFF U SUKERS

  • Thank you so much for sharing this video! It's really inspired me:)Blessing your way.

  • 14 gallons per person per day for drinking? That would kill you!

  • @blackfootraw that includes washing, cleaning dishes, food prep, and drinking you retard!

  • @blackfootraw - I think she meant 14 gallons per week for all purposes in a pinch.

  • @blackfootraw So she has 14 time more water than needed which means it can lat 14 times longer.

  • @blackfootraw The US Army says 8 quarts if that helps.

  • @blackfootraw This is for THREE MONTHS, not per day.

  • @blackfootraw its not just for drinking. Washing, cooking, cleaning, etc.

  • @blackfootraw Your right it is 1 gallon not 14.

  • Comment removed

  • @blackfootraw Not ALL of the water is for drinking; you have to wash clothes, brush your teeth, take a bath, for cooking, etc. You have to remember, much of the 'prepper food' is dehydrated or dry goods, it takes 2 cups of water to make 1 cup of rice... Gotta have LOTS water.

  • Very nice.

  • i dont think you will need that much salt unless you're thinking of dehydrating fish or meat, the amount of salt in the canned food is going to be enough if not to much as it is, i would switch that amount of salt with sugar, because you may need that sugar to make canned fruit.

  • How do you keep the bugs from growing in your flour?

  • great vid dont let the nuts get you down

  • HI there in a emergency u ONLY need 1 gallon per person a day at MOST lololol!! u need to do ur home work girl, u INFO about how to storage RICE OATS PASTA WHEATS IF u do not put all the rice pasts ex ex in MYLAR BAGS THEN SEALD IN BUCKETS u can just kiss all that goodby , it will only last up 1-2 yrs maybe before bugs water and for sure the moisture will get in those cheap plastic boxes ps AIR LIGHT WATER MOISTURE ARE FOOD KILLERS. Good luck!

  • quick question, why 14 gallons of drinking water per person per day? that is like 392 a month just for drinking...

  • @parlusk I know that the average person uses 14 gallons of water per day on a normal day. But in an emergency situation that is cut down to just 1 gallon of water per day and it is under the assumption that half of the water will be used for drinking and the other for cooking and cleaning. Now if you are sweating out a lot of water in an emergency situation you will most certainly need more than half a gallon of water to drink. Just use some common sence i guess is what you would need to do.

  • @EmergencyPreparednes i understand that a person uses 14 gal of water per day, but you said 14 gal of "drinking water" per person/day. so do you suggest that one should store 14gal of "drinking water"per person/day?

  • @parlusk No that is totally over doing it! :) Just stick to 1 gallon a day. In most situations that would be plenty of water.

  • foodshell

  • You WASH yourself in some of the water, at least your "dirty parts".

  • This has helped me on a few things thanks ;-) Please make more vids.

  • wow I am jealous of your survival pantry maze/room.

    Thanks for the info.

  • I wish I had her food storage and space. Living in a tiny apartment with an even tinier storage "food closet" (it's half the space of a regular closet) that we use, her's would be ideal. I love the idea of having aisle to walk down, and have raw wheat to mill. One day, one day! :)

  • Ummm you said 14 gallons of water per person per day! That would cause water intoxication or hyponatremia.

  • @mazinggrace lol you tell her.

  • @mazinggrace wow your serious 4 litres a day but personally im still thirsty at the end of the day and i drink more than that but just so your know mister doctor guy with your big words and small complicated ones you use some of that to clean yourslef, clothes, to cook, irrigate wounds, some use it to force a flush in a toilet if the power goes out especially people with wells

  • Don't store food items in plastic trash cans. The manufacturers use toxic release agents to pull fresh cans from the molds that is infused in the plastic and "out gasses" over time and will contaminate your food. Some of these are chems such as benzene. The same may be true of some storage totes. Rubbermaid informed me by email their cans are not for food. garbage bags also have toxic pest repellants infused to discourage bugs. I use food grade buckets and galvanized steel trash cans.

  • @WurledPeas what about food grade barrells like what a food factory would use?

  • @satansmusic2009 It depends on what was in them. I see people always yapping about how they use 55 gallon drums from Coke or Pepsi bottling plants. Not a good idea. Plastic is porous and that stuff permeates it and leaches into the water (in the case of using for water storage) and could cause issues or if you are using for dry storage could flavor your food. You just cant get all the residue out of the pores.

  • @WurledPeas Those "pepsi" plant barrels are OK for non potable water storage but you can never get all the corn syrup or whatever other crap out of them as to make them clean enough for human consumption. Others will say they have. I say get the water tested and be amazed. As to buckets that has margarine or cake frosting from a factory or bakery just don't store water in them and use a mylar bag for dry foods.

I've used frosting buckets with mylar. No issues as yet.

  • @WurledPeas I agree with you. You cant get all that crap out of those bottles. Many people believe they are great to use because they are the polyethylene based palstics used for storing liquids, but all those sugars and other stuff will eventually contaminate the water. Just use brand new containers for storing water.

  • @EmergencyPreparednes Yes, being sure they are strictly food grade containers at that.

  • Good info ... It was inspiring and I actually revised my own plans a little based on what I learned from your video. I appreciate the hard work and valuable information you have put into this.

  • Part of food storage is buying items I use on a regular basis. Not just for emergencies. I buy on sale and use it. The more expensive gas is getting the nicer it is to not need to run to the store everyday or week. Plus in an emergency I want to be able to feed my family familiar things. That will lessen stress levels and comfort also. Great video. I could only aspire to have as an organized system as you! Well Done!

  • Outstanding food storage system...great video! Thanks!!!

  • Can I ask a question. Why are you storing so much food? Are you anticipating a complete breakdown in society?

  • @CelticReject Expect the worst, pray for the best. You wouldn't want to go to one of those dirty crowded FEMA camps if anything did happen and that includes natural disasters.

  • @Liddy567 Ahhhh, a woman after my own heart! No, FEMA is not really my style. I'm more of a fight to death sorta guy ;-)

  • She did correct herself in the comments section about 9 months ago. 14 gal per person every 2 weeks I think it was.

  • thanks!

  • I love the idea and the planning that went into all this. However , I feel like such a large storage of NON nessessity foods is a bit of a wast of space. to me emergency food storage should be as simple as possable. My storage revolves around one rule. Water! all i should have to add is water. Dry soups, oats, beans, rice, powdered milk, and freez dried meats. canned goods are ok but heavy if you have to bug out.

  • yeah she bloopered on the 14 gals per person per day. You DO NOT need that much.

  • I dont think she means 14 gallons per person per day, its actually 14 gallons for a 2 week period. (short term emergency).

  • This is a great video. Although the 14gal of water per person per day is way off. Unless you plan to live pre-shtf, post-shtf by taking showers and bathes everyday and washing your car as well, using 14 gals of water a day is VERY wasteful even with cooking and hygiene. But great video thanks.

  • excellent food storage...this is one of the best...I put it on my channel...

  • 14 gallons of water per person is way to excessive jesus i mean 2-3 gallons yeah but no way in hell you need 14 per person to cook shower and drink i mean wtf anyways good video

  • foreals!!! 14 gallons is WAY too much water to drink in 1 day.

  • @kaihoosi1 yup, i only store about a liter-1.5 a day per person

  • Great video thanks for sharing

  • what are you going to do when your basement catches on fire?

  • how can you drink 14 gallons of water in one day?

  • Hi, this is great. But where in the house can I do this? I only have like three bed room two bath with no car garage. Living, dining and kitchen. How about mice and bugs ?

  • @urkingod I have space in a closet for my stuff. Basicly, one side of one of my closets is stacked with food and such.

For water, I keep gallon jugs in a low cupboard in my kitchen. Basicly, make some room. I rearranged how I store my dishes, cups and bowls and stuff and found plenty of extra space.

  • she said 14 gals.a dayper person probly includes drinking, cooking and hygine.thats not very much.think about it.over and out from the northcoast of america...

  • I love this woman!

  • sorry but if Im hunkered down in my basement in the apocalypse I dont give a crap about making cakes, tells us what food are cheap and last long

  • She did moron!

  • Keep them good videos coming 5*****

  • Most of your food are GMO's and you store your water plastic jugs, not good at all.

  • @wildnutria Amen! GMO's are bad....as is fluoride in bottled water, and I understand the idea of storing food.....and how it has to be food that your family will eat, people also need to realize they need to stay healthy. Too much frankenfood in this storage plan!
