hey Mathew, maybe you are trying to reach up too much, or trying to do too many or too fast, try doing less sets and working your way up. I hope this helps you
@matthew201208 perhaps you are coming up too far. Just try coming up to where the stomach muscles are contracted and then go back down slowly and your back should not hurt. You may also elevate your legs, resting your calves on the seat of a chair with your butt up against the leg of the chair before doing your crunch, to relax the back.
