the Challenge is to make it Likable and Keith can do that better than anyone on the planet. Technically perfect as well, but Enjoyable...that is the Key! TY Keith!
Even after his jazz period and full into his classicial period i believe Keith Jarrett is still very fragile and confused in his music. He still hasn't found his focus, but his devotion and effort into finding something in the classical genre is very admirable.
listen to Michael Tsarion on the youtube. He is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/author/lecturer. Leo Zagami and Dr. Bill Deagle are intelligent and highly informative as well.
Excellent! His technique is perfect and I also think he is extremelly talented! For those not familiar with his jazz-works, get the Encores of the Bear Concert in Japan and you will love it!
Jaerrt has always been an awesome pianinst. The reason most people play Bach with teh heavy staccato and even tempo is because of Gould, he will always be the ultimate master. Trying listing to Rachmanicoffs scrabande, and then goulds. It is easy to tell the difference in the way they are played. Still Im shocked that Jarret even plays Bach
to Irshkboy - agree overall, but I guess there are neither ultimate masters existiing nor ever existed on this earth. All of them show us a way to Bach' s universe:from Gould to Jarret all great performes included.Smt a few underesteemed soloists overshadowed by the
commonly best known ones do offer great renditions. We've several on YT if you check.
P.S:Do you know if Jarret's classic recordings are available and for which comp.did he record ? I can't find them.
I'm beginning to think I had grossly underestimated Keith Jarrett (having dismissed his Jazz as, "...smooth Jazz... a half-notch above elevator music". I now feel like a bit of an ass.
I don't think he plays Bach as well as Gould, but to my ear absolutely no-one does.
But I would tentatively say he's as good as Andras Schiff or Murry Purrhiah
Modigliani and Bach... perfect

It's easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.

As a jazz musician, keith Jarrett never drew my attention, except maybe fot that Koln Concert.
I have watched the Jarrett videos which I find in youtube, but usually I don't like very much.
Nevertheless, he plays J S Bach very well, indeed.
