My dad did plumbing work for his stores and said to him one day the way you dance around on TV it looks like you have stacks in your pants haha. My dad said he just laughed.
I love that this is on here. Every once in a while this Carpet Mart/Lou commercial in particular, will come up in conversation with friends... and we'll start singing it a bit.
So, thanks to MPMFilmSociety and pbrody57!
Off to FAVORITE and e-mail this and post to my Facbook page. Haha!
Wow. This actually brought a tear to my eye. I remember this commercial on channel 15/21 whichever when I was a young kid here in PA. I'd never in a million years thought I would see it again. MPMFilmSociety you truly are one of my hero's for bringing this childhood memory back into my life. Thank You!
This commercial was the very first thing I thought of when clicking on a link for the '7 worst Ghostbuster Commercial Parodies"...
Then I realized that I've had this ad playing in the back of my subconscious for the past 20 years... over and over. I think I remember it better than the actual Ghostbuster theme. Thanks for the nostalgia!!!
I wrote this and a whole slew of Hey Lou commercials when I worked for WPMT-TV in York, PA. It's hilarious these are on youtube. Wonder where Lou is? Probably on a beach in Boca. He was a hoot!
I have a cat called Lewis and I always say "Hey Lew, what's new!" and my hubby asked me why and I told him about these fun carpet mart commercials when I was growing up. I came on wondering whether any were on here, and I wasn't disappointed! Thanks so much for the memories! Heather in California
Just recently bought Ghostbusters on DVD and being from central Pa, I naturally thought of this commercial. Can't believe it's actually on here. Ah, memories.
Lol..i worked there for a few years.Lou was ok if you kissed his ass(id always take my break when he'd show up).His son was a closet case with an ego twice the size of the store.
@Vtx73 Very recently I worked there and I can only imagine this company has gone down the crapper over the years. I was expected to work 9 AM to 9 pm twice a week and worked four days a week total, for $9 an hour. The real red flag for me to get out was that they weren't willing to work with me to give me certain days off to work part time somewhere else and u could never get off for a specific day. Also, everyone working there acted liked the life was being sucked out of them.
AWSOME, thanks so much for uploading - I was about 12 when his commercials would come on during he-man, Jem and the holograms, and Heathcliff cartoons. its been over 20 years since I seen it but remember it as it were yesterday. look forward to anymore!!!!!
I recorded this off of channel 15 (WLYH) about twelve years ago. At that time they were still showing it on that channel pretty frequently. I remember the other Lou commercials, but this one has always been my favorite too!

Where did you find this spot? We did a whole series with Lou back in the 80's. This was our all time favorite!
