i bought these speakers from frys electronics for 70 bucks, not because i knew what i was buying, but because i couldnt pass up mini cerwin vega looking speakers... hahaha... this system is pretty good, but it doesnt have any bass or treble control at all... it puts out too much bass at times where you dont want it to... i shouldve bought the bose setup that i did some research on instead... overall these are alright speakers though

@13elsauz Logitech Z-2300. Much much better bass. I listen to dubstep and the Z 2300 sounds way better. I bought the Eagle Tech Arion 2.1 and returned them to buy the 2300's and they ROCK!

@davidthesmall if u didnt already get any, get the AR508, because i have thoes and the bass is amazing. The equalizer is cool, and it has a wireless remote. It also has controlls for bass and treble, so its more fot people that love to feel their music. I love them because the bass is awsone. with them on my desk i can feel them down stairs. it also gets really loud. and it looks cool. i personally like the silver and black more than the black and orange. its amazing im my opinion.

For the people with the complaints about the sound being picked up by a microphone, and you hearing it on your speakers at home. Granted, you can't really experience the true sound from this set up, but I think what he was trying to convey was..........They are a step up from your typical stock speakers that came with your PC. He even stated "they are not the world." So in short. If you have your PC hooked up to a BOSE surround system, then these are not for you. Just my opinion. Thanks.

Honestly, I think a good pair of over-the-ear headphones are better for anything. I have some Koss UR-40s and they're great. They are the second pair I've gotten. I need to ship them to Koss so that they can fix some loose wiring that is causing the right side to go in and out. Other than that they have truly great sound.

What I'm saying pretty much is that you are judging a set of speakers through another set of speakers.

I'd never make a buy just because I may or may not get $10 back 1 to 4 months after purchasing the product. If the product is crap, and/or the the company consistently makes crap products, then you can say that their crap and avoid them, but if they do a good job of doing what they're supposed to do at a reasonable price, there's no reason to get so riled-up over one missed rebate.
