There was never a bigger asshole in all of rock music than Delaney Bramlett. He could right a good song, sure, but as far as a human being he was a total failure. Maybe it was the poverty growing up or something but those who idolize him should know he was a deeply flawed man who beat the hell out of Bonnie regularly and did underhanded deals as a matter of course.
@mcleanartists Judge and prepare to be judged Mclean. Its you and those who share your moral relativism who will be the downfall of a nation in which virtue is necessary. I imagine when someone breaks into a home, kills the parents and rapes the children, you'll be the first in line to say "We need to understand the circumstances of the perpetrator. He may have had a tough childhood and society didn't give him the breaks others had." Pitiful.
Delaney and Bonnie we're great singers, its sad that they couldn't make it work in their marriage, they have a wonderful daughter,i'm sure if we post enough of thei music others too will come to know what great voices they had,Bonnie still rocks it out, check her out in the Roseanne episodes!
I think Bramlett and Stills DID sing together. Stills was a vocalist on eric clapton's 1970 album "Eric Clapton". Delaney pretty much ran that band so of course they sang together. But, if anything stills sounds like Delaney! not the other way around.
Hi, JoyfulNoise --- didn't see that you had replied until I stopped back by here (you must not've used the "Reply" button). I knew about the association between D&B and Clapton (first time I heard of them, actually), but didn't know that Stills was in the band for the EC album (need to read my liner-notes more closely). In that case, it's quite possible that SS was/is consciously copying DB. More of a sense of community back then, and nobody got uptight if one of their buddies "borrowed" :-).

I'm guessing the child Bonnie is holding is Bekka who went on to a music career of her own. Good DNA for it for sure.

And Bonnie went on to become a backup singer for Stills later on in the '70s after she and Delaney split up.

It's interesting how much Delaney sounds like Stephen Stills --- I wonder if they ever sang together?
