  • this man is a genius! =)

  • Think those wires should be terminated with O ring or spade connectors. Bare wire is too easily dislodged by vibrations.

  • THIS SHOULD BE ENTITLED WHAT NOT TO DO.

  • 15 amps max but using a 40 amp fuse, running mc cable outside instead of seal-tite and didn't even put a lock nut on the mc connector. This dudes house is gonna burn down!

  • your wireing a 12v dc system why are there 3 wires comming from your pv pannel? One other question, where does the capacitor thingy go on the solar panels? I am building my own and havent seen a vid yet that shows where these go. Thanks

  • Solid core wire on the DC side. Can you say voltage deeerrrrrr-op.

  • you should number your vids so we can follow.

  • Hi My friend

I am Buying a Tristar charger controller 60amp, I will like to see how to conect the temperature sensor, voltage sensor and the ground.

I live in a 6 floor building, you thing is posible to use the ground in my breaker panel of my apartment like my ground??

    Thanks

  • that thing got fucked up after 1 hour use

  • Why the hell would u use such a large fuse for a small system i dont mean to sound like a jerk but using a large fuse would offer little protection.

  • Wow I hope no one follows this video.

  • @abcdefgh3499 Why don't you put up a better one?

  • You want to do it right instead? Search for the book Solar Basics by Neil Kaminar

  • dude mabey would be good idea to hook up the ground first--------------you are the worst electrician ive ever seen ---------man you suck

  • @hermancando no matter how good you are in electrical, one point you should put it in your mind is a "safety handling", just be very careful in handling all those dangerous wiring. it just simply a friendly reminder....

  • jeeze expertvillage again they suck but to rahmanron Green is NEVER hot in DC red is hot black is ground ... in AC black is hot white is neutral green is ground ... dont know what planet your from...

  • expertvillage <------------NOT

  • "Green is always ground" not true. A lot of times they use green as positive.

  • what side should the panel have a fuse on positive or negative ?????

  • hmmmmmm...Armored cable being used outside???? Might want to check the UL listing on that one chief. And the NEC....

  • so you're going to install a 40amp fuse when you need a 15amp one .... (for the CC)?

12 gauge can handle about 41 amps, thats cutting it a little close isn't it ?

  • @dhymers

12 gauge is only good for 20 amps

    10 gauge 30 amps

    8 gauge 40 amps

why we have a book called the national electrical code.

  • @juggernautxtr my bad, that would be 41 amps at 12 volts :) obviously that doesn't apply here. Depends what total volts/amps he's got running from the array. No idea..

  • well from what i seen of what this guys work you further ahead of the game than he is.

  • Bx / Mc not rated for outside , indoor cable only . where's the red antishort bushing before you install that connector Bud !!!!!!!!

  • now we have the playlist for this series

click my screen name and go there

    Thanks everyone

  • Where you go to school 1-800-Im-a-HACK. One code violations one after the next there buddy...

  • @Hen113 I agree Hen I really love the DIY guys that say I'm running my 4000 sq. ft house on one solar panel I built myself and yada, yada yada, and then they backfeed through an outlet! Schmucks like this give real solar a bad rap !!

  • I installed a 130 Watt panel with two marine batteries. I have fused the system with a 20 amp auto fuse going into the charge controller and into the batterys. When I plug in a higher amp appliance (500W food dehydrator, angle grinder, etc) to the inverter I blow the batter fuse. What am I doing wrong?

  • maybe the inverter can't handle it

  • the inverter must be plugged directly to the batterys in the inverter socket on your charge controller.

Do not use the 12V output on the charge controller

  • 500w angle grinder ect is gonna make the inverter pull 50A from the battery that's why the 20A fuse blows, try using a higher rated fuse.

  • OK first black is neg do you need to change both colors and add that blue jumper to make this a real HACK job no permit here

  • In a house Black is hot this aint you honda civic!

  • hummm?.............using solid wire for DC solar??.........going to get power loss, from what i understand, you need to use stranded wire to help reduce the power loss of DC current!

  • In US/canada green is ground, green/yellow is europe

  • Well this guy probably knows where to hook up the parts, but it is obvious he is dangerous when considering the code issues and grounding.

  • i totally agree. he should be hooking the power source up LAST..not first. we were taught to isolate the danger. some sensitive electronics would not survive this guy's method.

  • oh!!!! ok

  • green/yellow is ground, not green, at least in Sweden...
