Angela has awesome growls and screams and stuff, but Alissa also can sing like a goddess!! And she can scream way higher.

Alissa is definetly better than Angela!! (Though Angela also is pretty good. I'm not a hater, I also listen to Arch Enemy, but yeah... Alissa rocks more :D)

@Darcmerc I also like Alissa more and i also listen to both bands but alissa is defently not better. Why? Easy, becouse they have diffrent styles, the technique of angela is diffrent to alissas scream/growl voice, that alissa can also sing awesome melodic is ofcourse great but the technique she uses is for women much easier than angelas. I wouldnt say anyone is better than the otherone, its the same like who is better: Zakk or synester gates / Paul Gilbert or Buckethead. All a question of taste.

They're all amazing female singers.

My personal favorites are Anette and Tarja;=)

@LovingLife411 those are "soft" metal singers, while alyssa and angela are on the extreme side of it (the agonist's new album is more metalcore, which isn't real metal, but whatever). Much of those sing to a blend of rock and metal, and all of them are "divas", what matters are the cute dresses they wear and not the "metal look", which kind of reminds me of evanescence, which is bad. Don't take me wrong, I love Epica and Nightwish but that doesn't mean they have to be perfect.

@RSevlp45 All the women I listed, and I'm a metal fan and woman myself, I would say they blend their clothes together with the music fine. Maybe not Anette recently, but when she first joined she did. Not Tarja in the beginning, but she certainly does now. Sharon and definitely Simone both show metal aspects in their clothing. So I'm not sure why that was brought up, but I think that they're image does fit the music. But you have to think, they're symphonic metal- that's a whole different thing.

@LovingLife411 check Nightwish live at Lowlands 2005. Check Burn to a Cinder live at MFVF 2009. What the hell are those dresses? What do they have to do with metal? And it's not only the clothing, how many times have you heard "I love Tarja/Simone/etc so much!!"? Those bands are a lot more than the lead singers, it's not them plus 4 or 5 guys behind. I have never heard anyone saying "I love Angela so much!!". And Within Temptation isn't metal at all, beside their first album.

But don't even try to compare THAT, because that's old NW and not what it is now. That was more so Tarja, then the band. SHE did that because her opinion was, "the music's dramatic so my looks have to match it.". So what if people support an artist?!? How do you think they would become famous anyway?

@LovingLife411 It's not about supporting the artist, it's about being obcessed by it, it's about saying the 4 or 5 guys playing behind it are just "pawns in the game". I prefer when metal bands have indeed a metal look and not some sort of dress any pop music diva would use. And I love Nightwish and Epica, but that doesn't mean they are perfect, far from that. To me it is a flaw to wear certain kind of outfits, to you it might not be but to me it is

I'm a woman, so I do criticize their outfits, believe me. I do especially when it comes to Tarja and her leather, floor length skirts. But clothes aren't everything. They don't make the band. The music, fans, and artists do.
