Don't like this gun-barrel one bit glad they went back to old school with quantum of solace. Although is was a bad movie at least it had the OS gun-barrel and the girls in the title sequence.
@AarHan3 exactly! see people wanna say things like "aww man this bond sucks he has no gadgets or anything!" but truth be told he is not suppose 2 he is dipicting bond at his prime b4 he was 00-agent status and when he is in the first missions of 00-agent status...this is a new connery...bond maybe (stereo-typically dipicted) as a womanizing guy with a fast car and hidden mounted weapons, but they dont know how =)sooo....? casino royale is a prelude 2 the movies and it use 2 show in the 50s
@prodeyj I completely agree. I also think his image is a lot better. If you put every Bond of the past in a big fight, I reckon Craig would knock them all into the middle of next week. He's definitely the best Bond. He hasn't got the one-liner arsenal of Brosnan - but who would - but despite that I think as an all rounder he definitely makes the most convincing Bond. For the first time in a Bond film, you can really imagine him being real, rather than a character in a spy-thriller.
@RoadRunnerDrummerJD yes sir....see, we not children anymore, well im 18...but still...we want more than girls and cars and gadgets...we want a plot and daniel craig fills out that category of bond well
@prodeyj1 Yes, you've basically clarified what I said. I was saying the same as you - Craig makes the best Bond, his films have the most believable plotlines etc.
@prodeyj1 I totally agree. If you compare Casino Royale & Quantum of Solace to, say, Moonraker in '79, they are worlds apart. Chalk and cheese. If you didn't know James Bond, you wouldn't have thought they were from the same film series (apart from the music, obviously).
@RoadRunnerDrummerJD yep cause they wanted to show what sells...it was enjoyable for a while...but this answers the question we all had in our heads when we were watching bond movies..."how did bond become like this?what made him able to do all of this?" and they forgot about it when the cars and gadgets became better and better
@CaptainBuckRogers I think any woman would disagree with that... The whole point of Daniel Craig is he was meant to reinvent James Bond, the classic view of James Bond was a dark-haired, smooth talking womaniser - but Craig introduced a new & contemporary Bond, blonde hair, brawling skills to match his gun skills...more straight talking as well.
And as for what you said about him being 'too ugly'...if you asked 10,000 women to name the best-looking Bond, I guarantee Craig would come out on top.
and gadget-less I think not...shore let the Jock's have at it with bond..but have they completely forgotten about the nerds and our love for technology to save the world with(just like America said screw the technical diploma just because we might be making has much money has any government employee),come on, lest could have had Craig use a grapple hook, what he gunna do when he's at a 20 man stick up? punch a guy grab his gun and run or finally give em a gadget or two and get out the easy way!
@theawesomemark1 Well, he's the most hated person on earth amongst Brosnan fans. Well, not really, but it really seems that way sometimes. He's got more praise over the years, though. Dalton is not underrated, just overlooked. The people that actually bothered to see his Bond flicks generally consider him good.
@m3dion yeh, the thing brosnan fans need to realise is that he would've become the next roger moore in terms of age if hed stayed on much longer. maybe he could've managed one more film but casino royale was a reboot about a younger bond. then again daniel craig isnt exactly in his 20s
The Only reason why they didnt show the gunbarrel sequence in the beginnging was because he wasnt a double o yet and once he shot the guy in the chair and the other guy he was a "00" agent so...
I agree with others, "the gun barrel sequence was not as good as the old ones". But DAMN, after watching Casino Royale a few times, I'm starting to like Daniel Craig as the new James Bond even more. I definitely can't wait for Quantum of Solace when it hits theaters this October or November.
Personally i like this gunbarrel the most, but i still have a softspot for the traditionals. This one also had a pretty good intro music video, one of the better ones.

Agreed, I hated this gunbarrel also, I'd like to see him in a traditional one. : / Though I don't find him as a great bond yet, one movie just doesn't do it for me.

Casino Royale good but Goldeneye had the best gunbarrell sequence. I mean it was slow and perfect and had fucking Pierce Brosnan in it!

Daniel Craig is so badass in this clip.
He is everything that Bond should be: smooth and borderline cold-blooded.
indigo1968a 2 years ago
but Bond isnt supposed to kill people who arent evil, the guy at the beginning, why did James kill him?
ThePotatoProductions 2 years ago
He was a bad guy, the one that Bond killed. He was leaking valueable information, and Bond killed him (I think it would be the same in the books).

oh.. well, I never saw this movie nor read the book, BUT tonight on USA Network at 8:00 P.M its on! But you might have it on DVD so...

Pierce Brosnan's Bond was a 60's character stuck in the 90's
even Brosnan himself admitted he never liked why he had to say these corny remarks in every scene
thank god for the re-boot of the series

interestingly enough, Craig looks the closest to the original concept of james bond than any other actor who had the role.
