  • such great music you picked for this

it's all new to me and i find it grat

  • Great film and and all the music was groovin

  • burning man is safe but does take planning , you need to bring in your own water and food, with the complication that you are not allowed to leave anything behind that includes used water , (people use evaporation ponds so their grey water does not enter the environment.

As for orientation , all types are there , as for drugs some use it but probably less then you would find at any club.

if going plan a trip with friends.

  • hello, I'm italian, i wana go at the burning man... but my mather think is dangerous, it is the true? it's possible sliping in tent???is dangerous to do autostop from san francisco to reno????please help me

  • GO !! I have five yrs ~ a beautiful experience. Go to Burningman website and talk to people who are going-l find someone in Italy or US who is going Bring plenty water and good food - nourish and sustain you in the intense desert conditions. Everything you need =BM website. Bring your mom~ tell her there are people of all ages there~including families with kids...there's a camp "kidsville" on the playa !! Surrender, No Fear, embrace life !!

  • Takes one to know one......mr jugger

  • ok if you say so...so anyone who knows a gay person is gay, is that what you are saying ?..how did you work that out ? come on tell everyone your theory on being gay

  • burning man festival is FAG CITY

  • and you are a necon piece of crap that is still stinging from he fact that your president is black and has an Arabic name

  • Not hardly..there's so much stimulating art all around, there's no need for drugs..if you need drugs to have a good time, then you're not there for the right reasons.

  • I'm against drugs... and I will never go there

  • Fuck you.

  • Don't knock it until you tried it.

  • I love the music

  • Awesome!!!! I would love to go some day!

  • FOUND YA!!!

    =:)

    Cross Sidhe

  • what song by The Mutaytors? i really enjoyed that. and all the other one too !!! it would be appreciated - they were wonderfull.

  • Wondrous Tremendous!

    David in west Florida

  • Yes its kinda sad when a good concept gets f~Uped and money is the bottom line..but, inspite of all that I would still love to experience this festival up close and personal.

  • by far this is the best video on Burning Man par none!! I must go!! To do my art and spill some seed in the playa!!

  • if i went to this it would end up like saudum and gamora

  • the lemon jelly song is the one that comes in around 4 minutes, right? anyone know the actual name of the song?

  • The lemon jelly track is called beautiful. it is innit?!

  • Its called 'space walk'.. that part of the video is amazing.

  • these burnning man parties look like they kick ass

  • It looks like a really good initial concept (i.e. back in '86 when it started) has been taken and essentially corrupted and perverted to be about a bunch of people grinding sexually against one another in a desert. The initial goal was artistic expression. What's artistic about people whipping themselves into an orgiastic frenzy? That's what Brave New World was about, and frankly it's scary.

  • obviously you have never been there. but burning man sucks anyways. dont go. :-)

  • is it still worth going too? how much am i going to have to shell out just to stay? i want some mushrooms. lol

  • The official website says $350 for a ticket. My official opinion says 'fuck that.'

  • obviously you are exaggerating to show your distate of the event to others.

  • MentorOfMinos (1 month ago)

The official website says $350 for a ticket. My official opinion says 'fuck that.'

Well, for $3.50 stay home and watch a BlockBuster movie. Have a nice day :)

  • Its depends on when you buy your ticket! That was for at the gate sales which they've stopped. The first tier of tickets start at $195 then $210 then $225 then $295. The experience is priceless!

  • it's a shame the video quality isn't better because this would have been absolutely incredible. either way you've convinced me that i desperately need to get to burning man 2008.

  • you dirty, dirty hippies!

  • this was a great video!!!! damn great music! this made me feel so great :D i gotta get to burning man one day!!!! thanks!

  • great video! would love to go there, but its kinda too far for me :P someday...

  • This festival look's incredible, I really would like to travel there and participate before I go to college this summer.

  • what is sence of burning man?

  • to trip on LSD and until the mothership lands

  • life without mind altering substances? impossible! humans have used substances to alter their conscious since the dawn of our existance , and it has always been a vital part of social evolution.

  • i belive so!

but after they discover all, why we cant continue without... all informations bout questions whoes answers we seek are here... with opening eyes and clear mind we can conect informations and find answer:D

its nice to dance, its nice to feel power of souls and conection with nature..

social evolution? from now it should go in some other direction.. this one sucks:D

    greatings jezbeoe... and others, too:D

  • You have a bad attitude.

Maybe some drugs would help? >:-)

  • not really... :D

    great joke man:D!!!

  • @jezboe

I have a strange feeling you don't know much about what you're talking about.

  • I wanna go.

  • :) Grrrrrrreat video:) loved every second of it! Thanks alot

I'm from the UK so going to the burn is harder for me:( I'm going 2009:) hopefully anyway!

  • Look for partners on the internet. It helps to pool resources. And be aware that it can get blistering hot there... well over 100 degrees F.

  • well over 500 degrees celsius....also in my previous post i typed "properly" instead of "probably"

  • to each his own...though powerfull drugs, nature, and community can be a pretty intoxicating brew...I wonder what your idea of a good time is? properly something a little safer and constrained, eh?

  • micahel2B-

Their values might not be the same as yours, but one thing is clear, they DO value freedom highly, no? :-)

  • Great videos...thanks! :-)

  • I've never been, but this video does a great job of giving me an idea of what I'm missing. It seems so creative and just fascinating with all the randomness and what people have built for these events, like the floats/cars/crazy bikes. 'Course, seeing 20+ fire dancers in one area alone makes burning man worth it. Thanks!

  • burning man looks like it sucks so hard. How is dancing like a moron to techno music in the desert fun? omg burning man is so enlightening, unique and a way to express yourself and find god. Bull shit. It's just a gathering of a bunch of retards seeing who can ride the gayest bike.

  • how is dancing fun? Uh....not a dancer or camper are you?

  • I camp all the time...and I love the outdoors.

I also ride single speed so I'm probably in 10x better shape than you.

  • Single speed...I fuck with kung fu and tai chi so you could never ever ever be in good of shape as me...get it? Ever. And if you ever tried to step I would consider ripping the skin from your left ear canal to your right eyelid off in one ill mannered flip of my wrist.

  • all in the spirit, of course!

  • fantastico......great music, editing and photography... I really love it !!!! Makes you happy!!!!

  • fuck burning scam!!!

  • only losers don't have videos of their own

  • Looks like michael2b just came up with a new definition of loser all by himself! Yay michael! Tomorrow onto potting training!

  • hey, somebody has ever been there? do you know if we can XTC or any drugs to have fun in this place.[not asking if you had some or taken some ;)]

  • Hmmm... I don't think this is the right venue for that question.

Oh.. you're asking if drugs are required to have fun? No, not required at all. My friends didn't use drugs, and they had a blast at Burning Man!

  • oh your phuedo righteousness and compasion has certainly collapsed undernieth you now you uneducated yes man fag! LOL!

  • I don't know much about Burning Man, but it seems that calling eachother names isn't what it's all about. Transportation for thens of thousands does cost allot of fuel, but then again, so do cruiseships for example. I think its better to go to Burning Man than to go on a cruise... That would defenitely be less hypocrit than calling your fellowman with a different opinion a fag (like that's a bad thing --> not very Burning man-like, now is it?, laotsu7777)

  • Also: it's better to spend some fuel on a better world, than to be nearow-minded at home, hek211...

this is just what I think. I hope I'm not gonna get yelled at by yoy guys ... :)

  • no, no yelling, the guy just fumed...I really have no problem with homosexuality at all...99.9 percent of the people I would call "fag" are straight. Its my generations "asshole" sad that it became that as I recolect. Whatever the many many gains in gay rights that have been achieved, it is strange to think that due to population rise there are probably more people using the word "fag" in a derogative way than ever...

  • what's the specific music at the 09:30?

  • tired of seeing news from iraq and afghan about people dying and getting blown up?----GO TO BM 2007!---as you can see, no politics or images of the various invasions we are committing around the world---you know--- like how the germans didnt have to think about what was happening in aushwitz---turn off the news, drop the paper, cover your ears and close your eyes until you arrive at BM 2007 and: HAVE FUN!

  • even super inteligent revolutionary scientist bodhisatvas need a day off...Are you living in solar powered mud hut...if so you've spent too much time on your comfort and not enough time stopping the war...shit...if you really put in any real effort to acomplishing your goal then the war would be over by now right...like maybe if you tried harder you could do it!

  • ...but remember...DON'T TAKE EVEN A SECOND TO RELAX, UNWIND, and let go of your fear and anger so that you can live at least one second of your life in a manner that will have meaning to you when it all flashes back on you before you die and it is all nothing.

  • how wonderful to enjoy fire and destruction... why cant the iraqis be like this?

you americans show the world that a burning man can be fun to watch!

  • fire and destruction are very life afirming and spiritual. Take dionysus you vapid fuck. I'm sorry that a bunch of hippies launched a global movement that is in echoed in every piece of capital merchandise and lofty humanitarian ideal on the planet! I'm sorry they are still at it, celebrating life and the death of the paranoid monoloths each year. I'm sorry we tried.

  • I'm Sorry people still enjoy the tribal nostalgia of two hundred thousand years of dancing and drumming around the fire. your contempory plight is much more preferable. you are right. fag.

  • you seem kind of narrow minded. and make vast assumptions. The world is neither black and white nor one dimensional friend. I have never even been to Burning man. I was commenting on your comment and you bring up all your anger against a vast swab of the population that you seem to lump all together as being ignorant to origins of petroleum and the obvious rampant abuse and crimes related to said fuel.

  • Clue you in: The people are apathetic and uniformed but if they were not the powers that be would still force the agenda. Start with the wolves...f-ing with the sheep only causes more agravation and little results (comparitively speaking) And if you want to help, be less angry and more calm. You can't heal the world until you heal yourself.

  • Also per my original point, maybe you should goto burning man, smoke some DMT, loosen your knots, dance and meet a girl or guy and FORGET ABOUT THE FEAR for even just a few days.

  • loser, you...smoke some DMT you self righteous piece of garbage. Learn how weak your soul is.

  • wow! maybe someone can explain to me how conscious people can drive to the desert, create a reality, and burn it down all in the name of fun and freedom when there are wars going on over oil and children starving... maybe soon we will see how to put our energy and time into meaningful endeavors ~ like planting gardens and learning how to make our own clothing RATHER than enslave other nations to do it for us.

  • have you ever gone?

  • please dont i dont think youd like it chaska....

  • shut your face

  • maybe if you came to the dessert celebration you would meet one of the hundreds of groups and organizations planning, discussing, AND IMPLEMENTING exaclty what you are talking about...WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK IS PLANTING GARDENS AND MAKING CLOTHSES IF NOT THE HIPPIES GENIUS!!! Of course there are a lot of shallow kids here looking for a cheap high, but this modern America, they are everywhere.

  • The truth is what you seek CAN be found at burning man. you just have to want to find it. Not want to bitch and complain.

  • I WANNA GO TO BURNING MAN!! :D

  • lets go!

  • I there awsome video ...

I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and i am planning to travel down to berning man 2008, i was wanting to know if anyone on the way wants to create a convoy to berning man... let me know and we will start planning

    ianmitchell_5000@ hotma

  • I went to Burning Man a couple of years ago. I felt like an alien. I didn't have an act, I don't do drugs, I went there to watch and learn. All I learned is that 28,000 people in the desert getting high on voyeurism and self promotion is not free - it's delusional. I've never felt so sad or disillusioned about the destiny of creativity before or since.

  • wow, bummer.

I went with friends the first year and watched, but by the second year i was contributing, that is where it gets fun, when get past being a spectator and contribute.

  • should have rented a bike and taken some DMT...self promotion? It is pretty wak but dont get so boo hoo about it...

  • Interesting video. I think Burning Man would not quite be my cup of tea, however. Everyone looks friendly in the video but I cannot help but feel there would be exclusionary groups and mean-spirited people. After all, we are still people.

  • I would suggest that the only way to truly understand the vibe of burning man is to attend!. People are people, and there are all sorts that go. However, the issue is not their actions, but how you react.

  • circus for deadbeats

  • whats funny about the communal spirit at burning man is that you still have to pay for a cappucino.. burning man is a party for hypocrites

  • Thats right, the United States was founded on freedom too, but I havn't seen much of that either. Wait - you haven't been to the man, right?

  • GREAT film!

  • great music and the whole video is great.

would you tell me who plays this song?thanks from HUngary

  • Thank you! Music by: The Mutaytor; Lemon Jelly; LCD Soundsystem; Settebello Unlimited

  • what is the title that starts at 10:58 thanks man on fire!

  • anyone willing to tell me who plays that music at the begining???????????its awsome!!!!!!!!

  • The opening music is The Mutaytor, the song is called "It Carries Us Away"

  • thank you so much! have a great burn this year

    chris

  • Hey could you arrange the music in a descripyion like in other burning man videos. thanks a lot

  • I have always admired the Burning Man from a far as it may not be compatible with my "normal respectable lifestyle". You guys are great. I am inspired that this can happen. I wonder if this could happen in any other country in the world. We are very blessed to be here.

  • That bike at 12:48 is crazy! Tx, your vids are awesome!

  • I love burning man! I'm 16 years old and I have been 3 times with my family :D

  • Great music BTW!!!

  • We need to just drop a bomb on burning man. Now that would be art!

  • BigPlunger, visit the Sedan Crater in Nevada Test Site. There, you sure find your art.

  • Don't listen to anyone who says Burning Man is past it. I'm an old school burner and in my opinion the festival is just reaching its zenith. Excellent video and music selection by the way.

  • I thought this video was great. I'm traveling to burning man this year from Toronto, Ontario area. we plan to make a video as well, thanks for the great example

  • Great images~ Well put together~ Nice job :~)

  • wow. I so want to go to Burning Man.

  • It's a festival where no one is suppose to use money; expand their mental being, and foster a sense of commuity tribalism. Ravers, hippies, and such. Getting commicial from what I've heard, as it's now even mentioned on the Simpsons. A badge of coolness to say you went there back when it was "real cool". Think Lalapalooza.

  • can someone briefly explain to me what Burning Man is?

  • if burning man were to be explained mathimatically it would look like this:

(New Years Eve X Spring Break)^ Salvador Dali at a Grateful Dead concert.

    Can't wait to go!

  • cant be summedc in words, you can only experiance

  • It also happens in the middle of the desert where no buildings or people are, or running water,or electricity, so you have to bring EVERYTHING, and becomes I believe the third largest city in Nevada during Burning Man, but when everyone leaves, you clean everything up to make it look like nobody was ever there. I haven't gone, but thats what my aunt had told me,... I really want to go.

  • What no video of the sand storms? Everyone should be in a few of those..

  • That was well done! We are planing our first trip to burningman this year!! any advise for first timers?? Thanks from NYC!

  • Any chance of a soundtrack listing? Especially the last song (by Settebello Unlimited, I assume?)

  • Here you go:

The Mutaytor - It Carries Us Away Lemon Jelly - Spacewalk

LCD Soundsystem - Oh Yeah (Pretentious Version)

    Settebello Unlimited - Churrango

  • Sweet! Thanks.

  • great video,i was there in 05

  • really nice, i wish it was longer. it would be great to see a video of all the temples from years past.

  • nice job

  • Very nice report and editing!

  • Love the Video, is getting me so excited for this years burn. It is so purfect, that i want more..

    w

  • It really gives you a feel for one person's experience attending. Nicely done.

    Thanks

  • nicely done

  • Yeah, I know it could be shorter, but this was really the "home movie" version of our entire trip, including our stint in Vegas after the burn. I just posted it here when I was done for friends & family to see, and was meaning to do a shorter, more film-like version, but never quite got around to it, LOL.

  • Understood. It's still really good, even at this length. Great shots/great editing. Brings back fond memories for me. Thanks for sharing.

  • Fun stuff. Nicely put together. I liked the Lemonjelly song at sunrise. I do agree with others that a shorter version would be better. My attention started to drift after a while.

  • nice video, but needs to be edited down to 7-8 minutes max. The Las Vegas part has nothing to do with burning man, so no need to include it :)

  • burning man isnt all about certain lables of society (hippies, burners, etc.) its for every one that likes to get away from their every day life and go out enjoy the life they wish to have every day

  • Great Video, but I was disconected from the visual until about 17:00 into, your work, then there was some human space over the so-so soundtrack, music was good BUT,you should redit the whole thing.....Peace Out

  • uhhh last i checked there wasnt a badakadonk land cruiser at woodstock....but hey who knows

  • LOL - badakadonk land cruiser at woodstock.... funny : )

  • There wouldn't be burners if not for the hippies and rednecks before 'em.

    Thanks for the video!

  • Please.....what pontificating prigs you burners are.

The nudity, sexual activity, the use of drugs at Burning Man differs from Woodstock, how exactly?

  • ummm... did you watch this? Do you know ANYTHING about Woodstock? Get over yourself and don't watch stuff if you are just watching to complain.

  • Yup...watched it. Yup again ... know quite a bit about woodstock. Got over myself ages ago and you're right. If I can't say somethin' nice don't sat nuthin at all ...

I still think you burner types are freaks....

So glad you do your thing out in the hot boonies.

  • What the fuck does it matter to you anyway? Quit complaining, and if you have such a problem with "burner types" then why the hell are you watching videos of Burning Man?

  • Nicely done videowork! I enjoyed it from that aspect. What I cannot believe is that Burning Man existed past the first pack of misfits who refuse to comprehend the 60's are over.

  • You are totally ignorant. Burning Man is a movement that is qualitatively different than that of the hippies. Burning Man is a totally participant-created art festival, the cardinal rule of which is radical self-reliance and self-expression. Basically opposite of the self-indulgence that the Woodstock generation thought constituted a revolution. Furthermore, Burners hate hippies. So get it straight.

  • Why the fuck would say Burners hate hippies? Do you speak for all burners? Alot of burners are considered "hippies". Quit with the arrogance and the labeling.

  • Hippies were a failed concept of teen and twenties angst against the 'leave it to beaveresque' complacency of their parents. Burning man is a neo-new age alternate freedom of expression. It is living art rather than an unattainable ideology.

  • Yeah I'm agreeing with brilliantsoma on this one.

  • Thank you so much for making that.... 05 was my virgin year.... this is the first footage i have found of it..... FYI, we were camped like 2 blocks from you guys.... 7:30 Bipolar
