  • My ex girlfriend said her mower didn't work right because it was haunted - Is that possible? Have you ever seen that happen? Am I just asking stupid questions to try and get attention?

  • @venturadave hi, that is impossible

  • I have a Craftsman mower very similar to this one and the belt set-up is the same, except for one thing. Under the mower deck, where the other end of the belt would be, it's not just a simple thing as placing the belt over, or into, a pulley. My mower has 2, what looks like sleeves, that the belt would have to fit into and/or over. The model number for the mower is 917.376240, just so you know. What i'll have to figure out is how to fit the new belt into these 'sleeves'.

  • how do you adjust the CABLE Tension? mine pop's out of drive constantly...and when any small bump is rolled over.....is there a way to adjust when it pops out of frive? Thanks in advance.

  • Hey I have this same type mower. I threw the belt when I hit a rock one day. I was able to put the belt back on and the wheels pulled for the rest of the day but the next time I tried to use it the belt will not engage. There appears to be a lot of slack between pulleys, also when I push the lever to engage the lever is not moving the pulley or anything. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Thank you. It worked perfectly.

  • Thanks for the vid .Just got a free craftsman and self propelled was not working the thing still look new motor runs great thanks to your vid i'll be fixing this soon.

  • im guessing its gna be harder with rear powered mowers, which i have. mines weak but its a beast of an engine so im figering i need a new/better belt.

  • finally! someone who shows how to get the tight belt over the pulley..i had trouble by pulling the belt to spin the pulley as it was so tight and hard to pull, but finallly spun the blade and that did it, finally slipped on! getting the spring back on wa hard. mine had a spring. used flat head screwdriver to pull it for leverage.

  • @jumpityhoppity well done

  • I have a craftsman self propelled mower. The front wheels are not turning, the mower turns on but the wheels wont turn. please help

  • @rac5518 is the belt ok?

  • Thanks for the video Dony...huge help in changing a broken belt.

    Cheers. :)

  • Chrisbethy2k. How did you get the blade adapter off? That has to come off before you can slide the plastic cover off. Thanks. Man

  • I don't know how I missed this one. :-)

My mower is an Eager1. It has plastic cover over belt above blade. Once blade is off, the rectangular blade adapter has to come off. That is were I am stuck. Please help. Thanks.

  • hey guys: i have a front wheel drive self propelled... with it off the ground, i can turn the front wheels forward and backwards and the transmission doesnt turn. does that mean its shot/ ?

  • @ringbolt9 not unless u have the lever pressed down. when not engaged u should be able to move wheels freely

  • nice job. !

  • Great Video! I rescued a Craftsman Eager-1 from the dumpster yesterday and got it running. The belt is good but I noticed that in the Eager-1, there is a plastic housing above the blade which conceals the end of the belt. Looks like I have to remove the blade, pull off the housing, then swap out the belt. Same Procedure otherwise, I'm assuming. Thanks for posting.

  • cool video dude ! how long does this normally take ?

  • @1972FordF150 less than half an hour if all goes well

  • @donyboy73 cool.

  • can you test out the transmission please

  • is rwd drive belt harder to replace?

  • @Smallgasengine1 i have a toro rwd and will make a vid soon

  • @donyboy73 thank you man!

  • @donyboy73 thanks man!

  • @Smallgasengine1 on the hondas they are

  • @donyboy73 on the older or newer honda mowers?

  • @Smallgasengine1 on the new or older hondas?

  • This seems kind of like a newbie question but...

I have a mower that the flywheel wont come off! I have heated it, lubed it, and cranked on it with a torque wrench and it wont budge! Any ideas?

    Thanks

  • @Geminimissions I suggest using the correct puller. However i have used a single prybar under the flywheel and apply pressure then with an air chisel with a dull punch in it strike the crankshaft end. I have used this method many times on tough one and it hasnt failed yet.

  • @conan6868 I'm sorry I didnt specify enough, I cant get the bolt off, any ideas?

  • @Geminimissions I use an impact gun
