Their shows were out of control - like Public Enemy on drugs and DADA. I saw them in 1991 and lost my mind.
BUT if you're living in the past so much that you can't find good music today... YOU ARE LAZY!! There's adventurous music happening almost EVERYWHERE. Say that you've given up exploring and are happy with nostalgia like your parents - don't say all music today is shit.
Seen this performance in Rotterdam...and they were surprising good...mixture you cant tell but it is artistik....and load....also seen them outdoors also in Rotterdam....the rain didnt bother us....Great band!...Christopher Amsterdam
It cracks me up that the majority of the interview is with Marcus Adams who had absolutely nothing to do with the music. I wonder where he is today...
MBM is one of those bands i regret not seeing live back in the day. They remain , to this day, as one of the most innovated and creative acts to emerge from avant garde electronic music.

I also remember seeing this show...(not there) but it was pretty much the same with the dancer's......this was hip hop cool hell.. it was like BAUHAUS meet's a bunch of hip hop group's mixed together.. big beat's and that strobe light.. (they had a REALLY big fricken bright light that they set off and the music got really loud.. it's like industrial music mixed with some cool ass shit.. the dancer's were cool as shit and tat dj in the back boppin in the back... DAM.
So then you r either one of these people; John, Marcus, Greg, Craig, Paul, Pete, Ben, Liz, Phil, Amanda. These people worked on the early album/ videos and Live tour of Holland. Of which I am one of. So which one of these people r u then?
Or were U just hanging around with the band at the time and I never got to meet u?
Rob Deacon was the most important member of MBM with out his generosity and free spirit there would have been no MBM as it existed and exits today. He was a true one off visionary who is sadly no longer with us. CM .
Well Audiohere, u r entiteld to your opinion ...but just cos CM was only there at the beggining doesn't mean he was not important...wether you personally like his designs or not. Furthur more I actually worked with these people. Therefore I might know a little more than u about this particular group.
I couldn't care if your sitting in Craig Morrison's lap while you're reading this. You stated CM was of "huge importance" as if he carried Meat Beat Manifesto from some miserable point of existence to a sunny patch in Sherwood Forest. He's simply a designer not worth mentioning, that's all I was pointing out in my post.
Furthermore, how do you think you may know more than me about Meat Beat Manifesto? Who am I?
Craig Morrison?? Please, I saw them Halloween of 1989 at club Homage, Houston and they could have been dancing with pig intestines turned inside out and they were off the hook and way ahead of their time. Latex spike outfits and swinging maces didt's make their show for me and especially not a "huge importance" to have to name a man who's had nothing to do with their career since after their first domestic/intl. tour. McB, CM never carried MBM with his latex, it was just a cool looking prop.
'6 very strong elements'.....'different theater backgrounds'.....yet centrally controlled?? therefore watered down art! it could of been huge this...instead others nicked it.'reanimators'crappy dance co, Blok and Steel were at this show and subsequently ripped it too! the list goes on and the originators get walked over. One name of huge importance not mentioned...CRAIG MORRISSON.
OMG - Jack has hair in this vid! What a cool TV find! It's funny to think back to 1989 and what total shit was going on musically and to hear what he was doing back then, it's quite amazing.
I saw them in 1989 in Doornroosje Nijmegen (Holland). Support Act was In The Nursery. Both give a performance to remember forever. But MBM blew my away. My balls to the wall for 45 minutes.
i went to see MBM in the uk last year and alot was still off their tits, but so what its all part and parcel of growing up, and you do still get bands like this, but you just gotta dig m out in the tiny spit n saw dust club pub nights

I was at this gig in Rotterdam, it was short but mindblowing.
The gig lasted, I recall, for about 30 minutes...it was really short.
I also remember the audience looking completely stunned afterwards (the stroboscopes had a part in it as well I guess ;) )
The gig was awesome!!
Really fortunate to have seen this, Storm the Studio is still in my top 10 cd-list.
