I want to start Aerial silk ballet, I'm starting to get really good at normal ballet, and I want to try Aerial silk. How could I start?

Best thing is to find an instructor at a circus school, what city do you live in?

There are lots of circus schools out there. I am UK based, but I know there is a New York trapeze school. The other thing is to find performers in your area and approach them for personal tuition. [cont...]

If you are not already athletic, I would suggest pilates, gymnastics and talking to a personal trainer about exercises such as chin-ups to get your basic fitness to a level where you can get a lot out of a specialist class. Most professionals take a few years to get to this level, normally training 20+ hours a week. Hope that helps, BCK.

only the last trick is skillful, though this act has quite easy tricks

I think if a trick is done more than 5 feet in the air, it's not easy. Having to keep track of which way she's weaved herself to prevent from hanging or falling is a trick in itself!
