@movement26 In context to what the clip was from. An episode of Bullshit, which if I remember correctly was talking about how much money was spent on government things. (I could be wrong but it was referencing a huge number that has no context or meaning) Now, as for this video, it makes you think about that. You can see, touch, and feel a "Bunch" "Few" "Some", but to even consider Thousands, Hundreds, Millions of something is baffling. You can't even visualize trillions of things.

yes...demonizing numbers as a way to invalidate them. this is an obvious jibe at the government budget. he's trying to say "it's hard to conceive such huge numbers", that makes it easier to pretend it's too much. fortunately most mathematicians and finance people are smarter than penn gillette.

I thought Penn made a smart point. He's just saying at a certain point we stop thinking of numbers and just think "lots". The difference is that one is an objective measure of quantity and the other is a valuation of a quantity.
