Terrorists attack civilians, by definition. People attacking U.S. forces in Iraq are therefore not terrorists, they're not right, but they're not terrorists. We have created such a bad situation for daily life over there that people believe they are defending their own country by attacking us. We shouldn't be giving them this opportunity.
No, actually Osama bin Laden wants the US to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan. This constantly drains the nation's resources, stresses and ties down the military, and, most importantly constantly creates more enemies for America around the world. Osama bin Laden doesn't support these people, they would eliminate his biggest source of new recruits.
Oh, I'm so sorry. You are about a year behind the times.
I hate to disappoint you, but al-Qaeda in Iraq is in shambles. It has been a debacle for the terrorists. Yes, it was costly for us. But, as Pres. Kennedy said, "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
It makes no difference whether 'al-Queda in Iraq' is in shambles or not. The US keeps occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, and this keeps creating more and more people who hate the US. Iraq loses 50,000 people every single month as refugees. These people are streaming out into Syria and Jordan, and living is crowded refugee camps without even basic necessities.
There is no way to get around the enormous amount of death, destruction, and sheer chaos that this invasion and occupation of Iraq has caused, and for what? Every bit of this chaos, every person who has been left homeless or orphaned, has the possibility of blowing back on the USA. That is why we need to remove our troops from Iraq, even though this course is not without danger either.
Camps like that, which are full of people without a realistic prospect for the future or even simple maintenance, are always breeding grounds for armed groups and crimiality. There is no way to have an occupation on the scale of Iraq without causing major chaos in a region of the world.
It is admirable that the US will bear any burden, meet any hardship, etc., to assure the survival/success of liberty. But to be a true freind of liberty, one should also have the ability to stop doing something that is not having a good effect. That is what these people are trying to get the government to do.
I imagine all of the above comments are from the same sad, little person. Its so much easier and more pathetic to insult others, than to use your mind, or question authority.
I think too many movies and to much RATM and the likes has caused some to not think very clearly. I don't believe they are always right, but I also don't think they are constantly wrong like you and a few others like you.
Very well Minionuup. Those currently in authority in this nation seem to me to be deeply corrupt, and dangerously deluded. They are taking the nation on a course that seems both immoral and deadly to me. That is why I consider protest against this immoral, deadly occupation of Iraq to be both necessary and excellent.
As unpleasant and frightening as it may be to consider that your own government is not on your side, I think it's necessary to take an honest look at the situation. I don't consider this to be the outcome of unclear thinking- quite the opposite actually.
all liberal idiots look the same. ever notice that? also, notice the contrast between this faggoty song and dance and the singing and chanting the terrorists do when they saw someone's head off. look how big that blockheaded woman's jawls are, by the way
Hey, I'm pretty liberal and I hate that song and dance shit. I'd love to kill all those Islamic fascists, I just don't think we have the resources to go it alone, or almost alone. We need to get more of the world involved. By the way, I don't look like those people.
Stupid idiots!! You're gonna end this Country as we know it if you get your way. If we don't fight the terrorists there they are goibg to bring it here. American streets will run red with with blood. We will see buses blown, up schools atacked, night clubs bombed. Is that what ya'll want?
Yeah, they did. It's easy to argue with someone when you attack the words that YOU put in their mouth. By the way, al-Qaeda attacked us on 9-11 not Iraq. It may well be that what they want won't work, but don't lump them in with people who don't care about 9-11.
They and you don't care about 9-11 because we are killing Al Qaeda OVER THERE and not letting them kill us here. We are getting them there. And about questioning authority just remember in the words of David Obey you are bunch of "idiot liberals"
Thank you for your reply my friend as well but the fact of the matter. They may not be terrorists but your side is doing everything to help them. To say that we are occupying Iraq makes you one of the "idiot liberals" Obey was talking about. I want a free and Democratic Iraq where the people of Iraq are self-determinate of their own future. But it wouldn't happen with the people in the video
No, to say that we are occupying Iraq is just an obvious statement of fact. Not only do the vast majority of Iraqs, and the majority of Americans, want our military out, the majority of the troops currently occupying the country want the military to withdraw.
Do you know any one in the military? Probably not because if you did the last thing they personally want to do is kill civillians. Even Diane Finestein said we do things to prevent collatoral damage. So did Barney Frank I believe. I have actually have met with someone who ran for office in Iraq and said "thank you America" In short as David Obey says you are an "idiot liberal"
What about George Bush? Tax cuts in the middle of a war? Taking out loans from China and Saudi Arabia to pay for the war. The deBathification which dispersed the Iraqi army flooding the streets with militias. Undercutting the troops' equipment and body armor. Poor planning poor action. The war on terror needs to be fought, but George Bush isn't the man to lead it. He's Al Qaeada's unwitting accomplice.
My friend thank you for your reply. About the Tax cut remark: WE ARE TAKING IN MORE MONEY TO THE FEDERAL TREASURY THAN EVER. FEDERAL DEFICIT IS BEING REDUCED TAX CUTS WORK. An "idiot liberal" would say otherwise Who cut the military? It was your friends during the Clinton years. Check out the Kagan columm in the Washington Post about the surge. 80% reduction in violence in Baghdad. Oil sharing agreement. We are getting Al Qaedas top guys. GWB is doing just fine.
One more thing. I will commend you for one thing you did say and that is you did say that the war on terror needs to be fought. Most of your idological kin would say otherwise
Thats so nice. End the war because of death but support Abortion. What a bunch of idiots. I HATE LIBS..

They say 'choose life' because war means constantly killing people, and they want it to stop. It's really simple.

Son, did you fall asleep a couple of years ago and just now awakened, without reading the papers?
People who had left Iraq during the conflict are now streaming back in as things have settled down.

Actually, millions of people remain in camps, or have found some life in their host country that they find preferable to returning.
