  • No it isn't a crime. Some foreigners in Sumo state their birthplace as Japan for various reasons - there are Filipinos, Mongolians and Chinese who do that. The secret is not because he is afraid-it's because most people don't know, since it isn't written formally in the Sumo Association's documents.

  • @Kintamayama Is it a crime to be Korean in Sumo? Why is it a secret?

  • Big thanks from Holland here. Nice commentary too

  • Thank u from Spain and for show the nationality of each fighter. U make us smile with ur comments!

  • My dear friend thank you!!!! for your excellent work.

  • Great start to this basho, looks like there is a lot of talent on the way up! i really enjoyed your "Blast from the Past". Putting names and nationalities up is a great addition, thank-you!

  • Great! Thanks

  • Excellent -- no replay but thankful for the encapsulated version Great editing!!!

  • Takekaze's katasukashi against Shogi was quite a spectacle. :)

  • SHocked how Baruto would have lost to anyone but Myiabiyama from that position. Sloppy sumo Baruto! Same goes for Kotooshu, who just so so won by yorikiri. THey both left the dohyo on different trajectories!

  • @camylarde i haven't been paying terribly much attention over the last couple of years, but miyabiyama looked terrible. i can't imagine how he won enough to get that high on the banzuke if he looked anything like that last basho. also, thanks for these kintamayama!
